'Don't question my faith': Rep. Dan Crenshaw SNAPS at 10-year-old girl who asked him about comments he made about Jesus and gets booed by the crowd at the Tea Party event

  • Crenshaw was taking questions from audience members at a Texas Montgomery County Tea Party event on Monday evening
  • The girl brought up Crenshaw appearing to compare Jesus Christ to a fictional character like Superman despite his public claims to be a devout Christian
  • The Republican stood firm even when the crowd started to boo him
  • At one point Crenshaw lectured the girl and told her she was not acting 'very Christian,' prompting the crowd to derisively chant 'Let's Go Brandon' at him
Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw was caught on video snapping at a young girl at a Texas Tea Party event on Monday evening, earning furious heckling from GOP voters there.

One angry audience member shouted that the girl was just 10 years old.

She had asked the veteran-turned-lawmaker about recent comments he made suggesting Jesus Christ was not 'real' despite publicly declaring himself a devout Christian, during a question session at the at the Montgomery County Tea Party meeting.

Crenshaw appeared on the Jocko Podcast in March 2020 to promote his new book Fortitude, where he was asked to elaborate on his thoughts on heroism.

'The important thing is that we societal hero archetypes that we look up to. Jesus is a hero archetype, Superman is a hero archetype. Real characters too, I could name a thousand,' the 10-year-old quoted Crenshaw as saying, adding civil rights icon Rosa Parks and former President Ronald Reagan to the list.

She seemed to take issue with him putting Jesus in the same category as Superman.

'I can't wrap my head around this,' she said after reading his own words back to him.

A clearly irate Crenshaw retorted, 'Well, I'll help you.'

'Put a period after the word Jesus and don't question my faith,' he said dryly.

Some in the crowd made expressions of surprise. Then, a trickle of boos turned into a cascade of disapproval directed at the Texas Republican.

'To a 10-year-old girl!' one heckler can be heard shouting. 'Wait to go, guy!'

Another person derided Crenshaw as a 'moron.'

'Don't talk to her like that,' a woman shouted, and another person added: 'Yeah, you don't talk to a kid like that.'

Crenshaw appeared defiant, once again telling the Tea Party members in the room 'Don't question my faith.'

'Oh, okay,' someone off camera quipped sarcastically.

'You guys can ask questions about all of these things and I will answer them. But don't question my faith,' Crenshaw defended.

The girl, again referring to the quote she cited, said: 'I can question your faith if this is what you said.'

'That's - I mean you can read the quote again, but nowhere in that quote am I saying Jesus is not real. That's a ridiculous statement,' the GOP lawmaker responded.

'You can say two different things. You can say that on a podcast and you can say this here,' the 10-year-old told him.

Crenshaw told the girl she was 'twisting' his words, prompting more angry crowd reaction and exasperated sighs of 'Come on!'

He took it a step further, chiding the young Texan that her comments were 'not very Christian.'

The room erupted in shouts of 'Let's Go Brandon,' seemingly aimed at the Republican despite it being a right-wing phrase meant to stand in for 'F**k Joe Biden.'

'It's not. And I'm not going to have my faith questioned,' Crenshaw said.

His heated spat with the young girl in Montgomery County on Monday night was resoundingly mocked by both sides of the aisle on Twitter.

'I don’t think Dan Crenshaw is gonna raise a lot of money off *this* video,' wrote Scott T. Parkinson, the vice president of government affairs at right-wing political action committee Club for Growth.

LGBTQ and veterans' affairs activist Charlotte Clymer said, 'the video of Dan Crenshaw livid over a 10 year-old girl reading his own quote to him is pretty damn funny.'

Pat Spearman, a Democrat running for mayor of North Las Vegas in Nevada, praised the girl and other youths her age for standing up to politicians.

'Dan Crenshaw being intimidated by a 10 year old girl tells you all you need to know about the next generation. They're not here for malarky,' Spearman wrote.

The Texas Republican has been accosted by members of his own party for publicly disputing former President Donald Trump's false claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged, as well as warning there were 'grifters' and liar within his caucus.

DailyMail.com reached out to Crenshaw's office for comment.

Higher Ground
I don't really understand what's gone on with Crenshaw. I thought he would be a good one but he's not been shining very brightly as of late. He seems to think that his job is to denigrate his constituents.
Crenshaw is C.F.R. like Tulsi Gabbard and many, many others in the new crop of pols, as well as C.I.A., all with the same goal, to tear down the republic so that it can merge into a New World Odor...

As I have said before on this forum, I had a personal experience with Dan Crenshaw (through an immediate family member) that really made me question his character. I thought very highly of him, but he managed to bring an end to that with his behavior, and I no longer have any use for him. He is NOT the good guy he pretends to be!

If you claim to have faith, you rule out proof. Claiming proof of your faith negates your claim of faith.

While, on the other hand, there can (and should, in every case) be strong if not overwhelming evidence of “faith” of the nature being referenced and claimed, herein.....among those so claiming.

By their fruits ?

Same concept applies on the obverse.....

On The Level
I wonder which ADULT wrote the question on the kid's iPhone that she is obviously reading.
Seems, like often, a kid was used.

Possibly. I'm not going to argue whether an adult wrote it, prompted the child to do it, or if the girl had some 'let's go brandon' fire in her belly and wanted to do it. There is a war on the American children. Especially the white ones.

He did make the comparison with Jesus to Superman.
And he did step into it with a young girl.

As a politician, Patchy could have said to the girl, 'Good of you to point that out, I shouldn't have made that comparison.'

I agree, he has shown his true colors in the past and I for one do not, will not ever trust him. He is two faced just like the rest of the RINO crowd.
