ALL covid restrictions in England will end in 10 days, a senior Government source has confirmed.

Sajid Javid announces the isolation period will be cut to five days


The end of restrictions means mandatory mask wearing at schools, on public transport and at indoor events, controversial covid passports, and demands that people work from home will finish on January 26.
All that will remain will be a requirement to isolate for five days with a positive covid test and the need to take lateral flow tests for international travel.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid was last night said to be “sure” that the restrictions will not be needed after the January deadline.
The Sunday Express learnt that the Prime Minister had already been handed an ultimatum before Christmas by senior Conservative backbenchers that he would face a leadership vote of confidence if he tried to bring in more restrictions.
The threat came after 101 Conservative MPs opposed the current restrictions in a Commons rebellion on December 14.
Conservative MPs have made it clear to Mr Johnson that restrictions needed to end as soon as possible.
In recent days amid the revelations about parties, some have stressed that Mr Johnson’s resistance to scientists pushing for greater restrictions and “getting the policy right” was what prevented them from submitting a letter to 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady calling for a vote of confidence in his leadership.
But even close allies of the Prime Minister last night warned Mr Johnson that there needed to be a change of culture.

Writing for the Sunday Express, Leader of the House Jacob Rees-Mogg urged people to stand by the Prime Minister for delivering on Brexit and getting the country through the pandemic.
But he added: “It is clear that there is a drinking culture in Downing Street that would be questionable in ordinary time let alone during a period of restriction.”
Meanwhile, former Conservative minister Tobias Ellwood said the Prime Minister must “lead or step aside”, saying: “We need leadership.”
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said: “We’ve got a Prime Minister who is absent - he is literally in hiding at the moment and unable to lead, so that’s why I’ve concluded that he has got to go.
“And of course there is a party vantage in him going, but actually it is now in the national interest that he goes, so it is very important now that the Tory party does what it needs to do and gets rid of him.”
Health Secretary Sajid Javid is expected to formally announce in the coming days that he will not renew the restrictions when their sunset clause ends on January 26.
A source said he “feels confident about the decision” because of the falling number of cases and evidence that Omicron is not as dangerous as other variants.
The source added: “Sajid [Javid] is sure now that the restrictions will not go beyond the sunset clause date.”
The Health Secretary had already reduced isolation times for positive tests down to five days from 10.

Biden will be a one term wonder I suspect. I suspect too that trump stepped aside to let dems ruin everything so he could swoop in to fix it again. The swamp had to come out with vengence show its ugly heads and have them lopped off before a true clean cycle could occur.

But trumps actions are very reminiscent of the russian perestroika. too little too late and only kept things afloat a while longer.

BoJo is also absolutely fighting for his political life, with members of his party ready to try and unseat him (they can do that if they have enough votes) and put in a new Prime Minister.

Since the reason, he is in hot water is over a series (not just one) parties held at his Home or Office even during the worst of the lockdowns; he is scrambling for anything that might prop him up for a few more days or weeks (in case he can figure a way out of this).

He knows he (and his staff) have made a laughing stock of their own rules with "Wine O Clock Fridays" and "Work Meetings - BYOB," he and staff figure the best way out is to jump the timetable (last week, things were going to be "gradually" opened up probably next month).

Hoping that will prove popular enough that the polls will help him keep his job, it probably won't work, but I think after Spain this was coming anyway just not quite as quickly. Note the plan to ditch that passport, which I find very interesting (good news but interesting).

I also seem to recall this is how the 1918 restrictions got lifted as well.

O I have no doubt that the restrictions will indeed be dropped, for the reasons mentioned up thread; They've served their purpose, the COVID tool o' enslavement of populations has reached herd immunity and they need a new chain, and poor ole "BoJo" is being slayed mercilessly for his indiscretions and the drums to unseat him are deafening

I just have less confidence that the subsequent legal inquiries will punish the doers or recompense the victims of the policies

I do not things will go nuclear. Our food stocks and farmlands ARE TOO VALUABLE. We have the capacity to feed a good portion of the worlds population. This is why our missle bases were in part placed in the bread basket more of a screw you, F with us and we will F your ability to get food from us and the world will starve.

Any more biological attacks will fail. Their control effectiveness is moot at this point. Not to say that the chemtrail program could not be utilized to spread a very nasty varient.

Any more mobilizations will trigger deadmans protocols at this point.

China can not do Taiwan without taking out Japan and involving us. Russia does not want this. Russia wants stability. An aggressive China is in no one's best interests.

Now Russia does have a contingency plan if China does do Taiwan and that is to re-establish the iron curtain. Biden pretty much ensured that could occur without bloodshed. Honestly I think high level talks between Trump and Putin explained enough to Putin for him to understand how to hold the military industrial complex by their testes so as to be impotent. A stable Russia ensures a stable world.

I do not see EMP as an option. Too much fallout and collateral damage.

I do see a triggered earthquake and a possible chinese invasion on the western coast but I doubt that is on the table.
