According to the date code info on MREinfo.com, it's correct. Here's the site-

MRE Date Codes | MRE Info

You might also figure it out by looking at the menus listed on this site. They have the actual MRE menus listed from waaaay back. Might be a better indicator.
Interesting. There is a Beef Ravioli on almost every menu for the last 20 years.
Mine did say Beef Ravioli with meat sauce, that's the label on the more recent ones. Definitely older than those.

I found the box, that says 2012 on it. I don't know if this particular one was from that box. I had a bunch and might have just got thrown in it.

Just ate a PBJ with some jam we put up 11 years ago. Tasted great. Got a couple cases of old MRE's but haven't busted into them yet. Always last on my list.

Ok, so after ingestion report.
Beef Ravioli in meat sauce, still good.
Wheat bread, probably as good as it never was.
Ditto for the cheese spread.
Also had something called corn nuggets. Never seen those before but they were tasty.
Raisins, Smelled fine tasted fine for about 5 seconds. Spit those out, weird taste. Definitely spoiled.

MRE-meals refusing to excrete.......

I'm one of those weird guys that actually likes mre's. But they can play havoc with ones GI tract.
I'll second that.
I've never noticed anything from eating them, but then again never ate them 3 meals a day.

children not eating there food, . why back in my day. we were eating 20 to 30 year old C rations, young whipper snappers have no respect for there elders

C Rats weren't too bad, other than that is where green eggs and ham came from. I ate quite a few that were from WW-II in the early 80s. When MREs came out we called them Meals Ready to Puke.

I bartered/gave away all of my MREs when I moved to Iowa and won't be replacing them. The damage they do to my digestive system just isn't worth it. I was stopped up for nearly five days, and I'll leave it at that.

In a SHTF situation, I need to be able to function.

Shooter, I'm now in rural Iowa. Do you really think people are going to be shooting at an old lady? :geek:
If you got food and they dont then YES.
I know roughly where you are, im in Nebraska same kind of country . and do expect there to be violence, hungry people will do anything to feed there kids or themselves. I really believe city people will go out into the country side looking for farms thionking there is food there, cause thats what farms grow,
