Slam me with your best double nickel birthday meal ideas for the coming week please! Official birthday is on the 23rd, and I’m gonna be celebrating all week long. Had taco pizza for dinner tonight, yum!

Me thinks I might be short some smoked pork steaks or even a turkey leg which might happen this Sunday.

Breakfast at the local mom and pop tomorrow. Can you say pancakes? I knew you could!

I always have a tough time choosing between pancakes and omelets. Pancakes are great and all but an omelet will keep you full most of the day if eaten at the right time.

As for meal ideas, just go with it. What do you WANT? Seafood? Steak? Burritos from that one place? Go get it.

Honestly, that's not a bad idea for normal right now. Who knows how much longer we CAN?

Oh there will definitely be an omelet to share with the pancakes tomorrow morning. The pancakes at this place are to die for hence the birthday treat. I love German style pancakes.

Place about a half-hour from me does baked pancakes. I've never had them; usually get an omelet instead. That and I haven't been able to get away in the mornings.

Sounds like 5he pancake house for me in ankeny Iowa. It’s still on my bucket list, until then it’s the place on Main Street a few minutes away.

Gotta love Orion Commander who was planning to take my car tomorrow morning for an eye appointment and other errands, I told him No! And he was like why and I told him why, we now have a date for pancakes late tomorrow morning. He was going to go do his Saturday errands, and I was like no, you can’t take my car!

Have no idea what double nickel is, but how about dutch oven cooked ribs and it takes three to fours to cook but it's worth it. I posted a recipe in the "The Dutch Oven Thread" along with a number of others.

A few minutes ago, I put a big casserole dish of thick-cut pork chops covered with scratch-made German Potato Salad in the oven to slow bake.

Perfect fall meal..smells like heaven. Just a thought. :)
Brown pork chops, pour cream of mushroom soup over the top of the pork chops, place lid on fry pan and simmer slowly for about 2 hours or until meat falls off the bone. Excellent meal.

Shrimp Enchiladas (Beef Enchiladas with tiny Popcorn Shrimp served with lots of sharp Cheddar and Onion on top) Refried Beans, Mexican Rice, and Iced Tea.

This has been my go to Birthday meal several times over the years.

For my birthday dinner, I generally grill the best steak that I can afford (or find). This drives my neighbors crazy because it's the middle of the winter.

I keep it simple: salad, steak, baked potato, green beans, and one slice of either cake or pie, depending on what is the freshest. Beverages are red wine and water.

I'm in on this although a really great simmered Pork Chop could be swapped in for the meat w/o much whining here and if I could get a spinach salad w/ blue cheese ......

Not diabetic friendly at all, broccoli and chicken Alfredo sauce with fettuccine sounds really good.
Cries out for a great Soave. Wife & I are T2 but indulge periodically, knowing we have to adjust intakes B/4 & after to offset spiking.

I have had to slap my own hand if there's left overs . Learning portion control discipline on 'treat' meals was an absolute bear.

Right now, I eat pork chops in some form 3X a week. It's the most affordable meat right now in Iowa.
I think in most places unless you're raising your own. There was a place in Memphis (Mr B's, now defunct) that had "THE Pork Chop" on offer; more of a filet or tenderloin roast cut, simmered for hours.

My mouth waters at the memory .....
