BRKG CDC to reintroduce mask mandate 7/27

Thread drift... I believe The Pinkertons made their reputation during the Coal Miners War in West Virginia. 1920's and 30s

That's probably true. I'm too lazy to fact-check Chuck today. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around possible mask mandates at one of my jobs. I may quit if that happens and/or I can't work at home. I don't want to deal with my ragweed allergy and a mask. Ugh.

Pinkertons---I stand somewhat correct3ed:

8. They played a role in 1892’s infamous Homestead Mill Strike.

Pinkerton guards break up a strike in Buchtel, Ohio in 1884.
Along with their exploits in the Wild West, the Pinkertons also had a more sinister reputation as the paramilitary wing of big business. Industrialists used them to spy on unions or act as guards and strikebreakers, and detectives clashed with workers on several occasions. During an 1892 strike by the Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers, the Carnegie Steel Company paid some 300 Pinkertons to act as security at its mill in Homestead, Pennsylvania. After arriving at the plant on river barges, the agents squared off with thousands of striking workers in an all-day battle waged with guns, bricks and even dynamite. By the time the outnumbered Pinkertons finally surrendered, at least a dozen people were dead and several more wounded. The fallout from the melee crippled the steel union, but many also branded the Pinkertons as “hired thugs,” leading several states to pass laws banning the use of outside guards in labor disputes.

I been corrected.

Their rep was MUCH longer lived than I thought.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Guidance for Fully Vaccinated People

Updated July 27, 2021
Languages

Summary of Recent Changes
Updates as of July 27, 2021
  • Updated information for fully vaccinated people given new evidence on the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant currently circulating in the United States.
  • Added a recommendation for fully vaccinated people to wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission.
  • Added information that fully vaccinated people might choose to wear a mask regardless of the level of transmission, particularly if they are immunocompromised or at increased risk for severe disease from COVID-19, or if they have someone in their household who is immunocompromised, at increased risk of severe disease or not fully vaccinated.
  • Added a recommendation for fully vaccinated people who have a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 to be tested 3-5 days after exposure, and to wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result.
  • CDC recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to schools, regardless of vaccination status

Key Points

The following recommendations apply to non-healthcare settings.

For related information for healthcare settings, visit Updated Healthcare Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations in Response to COVID-19 Vaccination.

Fully vaccinated people can:
  • Participate in many of the activities that they did before the pandemic; for some of these activities, they may choose to wear a mask.
  • Resume domestic travel and refrain from testing before or after travel and from self-quarantine after travel
  • Refrain from testing before leaving the United States for international travel (unless required by the destination) and refrain from self-quarantine after arriving back in the United States
  • Refrain from testing following a known exposure, if asymptomatic, with some exceptions for specific settings
  • Refrain from quarantine following a known exposure if asymptomatic
  • Refrain from routine screening testing if feasible
Infections happen in only a small proportion of people who are fully vaccinated, even with the Delta variant. However, preliminary evidence suggests that fully vaccinated people who do become infected with the Delta variant can spread the virus to others. To reduce their risk of becoming infected with the Delta variant and potentially spreading it to others: CDC recommends that fully vaccinated people:
  • Wear a mask in public indoor settings if they are in an area of substantial or high transmission,
    • Fully vaccinated people might choose to mask regardless of the level of transmission, particularly if they or someone in their household is immunocompromised or at increased risk for severe disease, or if someone in their household is unvaccinated. People who are at increased risk for severe disease include older adults and those who have certain medical conditions, such as diabetes, overweight or obesity, and heart conditions.
  • Get tested if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Get tested 3-5 days following a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 and wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days after exposure or until a negative test result.
  • Isolate if they have tested positive for COVID-19 in the prior 10 days or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Follow any applicable federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations.
People who are immunocompromised should be counseled about the potential for reduced immune responses to COVID-19 vaccines and to follow current prevention measures (including wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart from others they don’t live with, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces) regardless of their vaccination status to protect themselves against COVID-19 until advised otherwise by their healthcare provider.

This smells like the opening act on another mandated "wear the mask" soap opera. Mark my words. Either mandatory mask use or better yet, another round of lockdowns.

Which ain't gonna happen. No F'ing way. My mask is hanging in the car, where it's going to stay. Unused.

A tidbit for you though. In a lot of business environments this week; people are actually starting to wear masks indoors again. I am vaccinated, but didn't wear a mask unless absolutely necessary anyway prior to vaccination.
I tell these people I've been vaccinated (to soothe their enlightened ignorance and willingness to be controlled ). They still look at me like I belched in public though. People are actually buying into this ridiculous CDC guidance-even my company sent me yet another quarterly shipment of throw away masks, antiseptic wipes and rubber gloves.
I'm laying money on another rounds of lockdowns coming-got preps?

You think if this all happens, small businesses will get another round of forgivable loans?

I don't think so. Pres Trump did that to help small businesses.

Comrade Joe could care less about businesses in general. He would probably claim that wonderful "infrastructure bill" is considered help for small business. He won't allocate a single penny for small business.

So in reality, it is the vaxxed who are making it worse, not the ones who refuse to take the jab? If so, what they are doing is some monumental gaslighting.

I think that is how revolutions happen. I’m sure the playbook is well known. The alpha-bets all in on the movement. Gonna be fun...really!

He will allocate it to Hunter's business but everyone else is on their own!

Oooh...been to Buchtel, and hunted the hills around there a lot. Kinda hard to believe Pinkerton wasn’t wiped out by the locals. I knows them. Not a tougher bunch anywhere.

Now at present am up here in Alaska traveling and hanging out. And I am not the only one, many travelers about this year. And many of them and the people one sees, has one thing similar ... No Masks and Don't Want Them! There are those odd individuals here and there, and certain businesses, that cling to them. But many people going without wanting the old normal. Government might say this or that, but the reality on the street is something totally different. People like going about without a muzzle!!!! This just adds to distrust many have towards government to begin with.

In Homer at one of the coffee shops has this on the door which I think is how many people think because they are tired of it all when it comes to this Covid thing. It says ....

" There are idiots on both sides of the Covid debate. If you are one ... You will be asked to leave."

Think this summarises how many think. They are tired of it all and don't think it will be easy to remask the populace. The people know the politicians are a bunch of freaking lying bastards.

So am I to assume that those vaccinated are now struggling with the resistance to the variant of covid now?

What was the purpose of getting the vaccine in the first place if .........it really never stopped you from getting covid but would lessened the symptoms for you if you did?.................and that it is not good for protection against this variant?

Just what the hell is going on here?
Stupidity. There are those who see this as the perfect means to keep the sheeple in a permanent state of fear.

That has been my ongoing concern and why I've suggested to those who wanted to do local travel to get out and go to the lake, the campground, or that special ice cream shop three hours away. Gas is high but it's available and states are still not on lock down, again.

Enjoy the summer while you can!

Allan was Cook County first deputy sheriff. Sad the name of Pinkerton Security changed over to Securitas.

My boss at my seasonal job (the one who has ragweed allergies) says she's going to quit if we have to wear masks.

I'm sure lots of others are having similar discussions.

Geez. Masks during ragweed season. It's thing to wear one voluntarily just to make it through cutting the lawn (and it's an N-95). It's another to have to wear it all day.

Hubby and I won't be sending our kids back to the giant disease vector we call public school. I'm pretty sure
they will still be pushing that the kids wear masks when school starts again.

You bet! Geez. What nonsense. Yep, bet this is the start of Civil War II. Enough, already!

Dunno what they are saying this afternoon or tomorrow.

It feels like we've gone to hell and back over the past couple of days fighting this illness in my house.

I'm still not putting a rag over my face for these assholes. I'll wear one now. It's the right thing to do until me and my family are well from whatever this is, but not one day more...

One of the stores in the large town north of me is requiring people to wear masks in her store, even if they've been vaccinated. I have enough junk so won't be visiting her store anytime soon.

I try to support the local businesses where possible, but it's too hot and humid for masks. Fortunately, I'm almost finished shopping for non-food items.

So let me get this straight if you are not vaccinated you do not need to where a mask.:p

Agreed on it being too hot and humid, it's a recipe for a serious lung infection. Outside of underwear for the two of us, which I can order online, I only have a couple of things I need... copper and silver sheet and copper and silver wire. I want to buy a hand seaming tool, this will work for me for awhile until I can find a brake on sale some place for a good price, and by good price I mean free.

Coupled with some stuff I ran across in ref Biden Admin and a peaceful transition and the Pentagon, yeah, CW-II looks a LOT more likely before the end of August. or Mid Sept.

BTW, the replacement election for Marcia Fudge is looking more and more Doneynrook-ish.

The ONLY thing that Nina and Shontel (dims) have YET to do is mudwrestle.
And when the 11th District Labor Day Cornfest and PARTAY happens Labor day weekend I wouldn't be surprised if they end up doing just that.

Interesting timing. 1 month or less school will be starting. Wanna bet the teacher unions will jump all over this in blue states? Hope libs really like having their kids be dumbed down for another year.

Thank God I live in a red state.
Actually people in my state which is very blue are sick of the masks on children.this will not end well

Just what the hell is going on here?

The Vaxx is the Biowarfare agent, not CV19, that was the excuse to get you to take the Vaxx.

This explains why they are so desperate for everyone to take the Vaxx.

TPTB are not happy with who is taking the vaxx. The compliant ones, will vote and do whatever the administration tells them, are not the threat... but they are the one's getting Vaxx'd in big numbers. It's the Trump supporters, Conservatives, Freedom loving people who are anti-Marxists, anti-Biden. We are the ones they desperately want to take the Vaxx.

The "life-saving" injection is the "start" of a process of continuous deterioration, with clots over-time forming inside every organ. First symptoms recognized will be described as a fogginess in the head. The memory, and thought processes (simple math, 25% of $10 etc) will become difficult. Many will describe it as like early stage dementia and it progresses.

Problem is we have far too many Doc's who just accepted that these were safe and promoted the Vaxx to their patients. Those who trusted that their Doctor investigated this, so they wouldn't have to and those Doc's and the continuing drum beat by the media ... It's fine, It's safe, there's no problems and your life can get back to normal...that is what everyone wants right? So take the jab.

There are therapeutics that are rumored to ameliorate the side effects and repair damaged cells but I haven't heard of anything other than word of mouth.

Now wanted to say this also. This is just some of the things I have seen in my travels. Just posting for whatever it is worth.

* At the airports when flying up (Jackson, Wy., Salt Lake City, UT., and Ancourage) how many in the airport were not wearing masks period and if wearing one, then not over the nose. It was astonishing. And no one was around telling people to wear a mask.
* On the plane interesting how many were not wearing a mask over the nose. Only one of the stewardesses was saying anything.
* On the Alaska State Ferry and Shuttle Buses, no one about was wearing a mask whatsoever. One shuttle bus which was full had only one couple wearing masks. And that couple was from San Francisco so figures.
* I have seen certain businesses that still cling to the mask thing, but watching those businesses, hardly no one was entering them. People would walk up, see the mask notice on the door and then walk away.
* Talking to people everyone doesn't want the masks. Talked to some guys from Wisconsin today. Tired of the masks and the whole Covid thing. In fact no no one even wants to talk of the Covid thing period anymore. And they all seem to think that the year 2020 was nothing but a freaking nightmare. Everyone now wants to get out and go about living life.
* In talking to those that have been vaccinated ... their reaction is always that they have been vaccinated and now don't have to.
* In every coffee shop or restaurant I go to, there are no masks period it seems. If someone has them, one can tell from their actions their political leanings.
And More!

Look around and you will see the same I believe. People are over it, Except some liberals! The reality on the street is different then what Government thinks it is. Do think that if so on this mask mandate, it will be much much harder to muzzle the people the next time. People love their freedoms!
