At 3pm EST this afternoon, the CDC will be making an announcement. They will be recommending that fully "vaccinated" people wear masks indoors again, due to the rising number of Covid-19 and its variants cases.

The CDC announced today that they are suggesting vaccinated people return to wearing masks because "vaccinated individuals could have higher levels of virus amid the surge of cases driven by the delta variant of the coronavirus."

They are also requesting vaccinated people stop being tested for the virus.

"In one cluster of more than 200 cases in Provincetown, Massachusetts, 70 percent of the Covid positive cases since July 1 have been among vaccinated individuals, Town Manager Alex Morse said in an MSNBC interview."

So am I to assume that those vaccinated are now struggling with the resistance to the variant of covid now?

What was the purpose of getting the vaccine in the first place if .........it really never stopped you from getting covid but would lessened the symptoms for you if you did?.................and that it is not good for protection against this variant?

Just what the hell is going on here?

Both the CDC quote and the quote from Morse aren't actually complete sentences, and as such are missing vital context. For the Provincetown "cluster", were there 200 people in a larger cluster who got the virus even though they were "vaccinated", or was the total cluster 200 people, and some subset were already "vaccinated"?

For the CDC quote, what exactly could "vaccinated" individuals have, amid this surge of cases driven by the Delta variant?



More generally, isn't the Delta variant notably less lethal than the original strain of the virus? And thus, if you're otherwise healthy, don't you really not have all that much to worry about anyway?

If Delta isn't as lethal, anyone who's healthy really ought to just let themselves catch it. Natural immunity appears to be so much more efficacious than the vaccine (and without all the long-term unknowns the vaccine brings), that if there's a less-lethal strain of the virus going around now, that would seem to be the way to go. It likely also carries the benefit of providing immunity to the original strain as well.

Absolutely right. The people who have never left masks and lockdowns, and media, will celebrate this.

Everyone else will likely tell the CDC to shove it. They complied as well as they reasonably could during the height of the 2020 crisis, and now have had a taste of freedom, even in blue states. Who wants to go back now?

Yeah, I know. That won't really happen, but it's a nice thought.

I believe the lethality is about 1/10. Still can be treated with Alphabet Soup. If only they would tell people, but that goes against the agenda.

from what I'm seeing on facespy and other forms of social media people genuinely believe that they got a vaccine, not a symptom attenuator. They think that because they now have the vaccine they can go out to bars, diners, movie theaters, concerts, etc., and that they will NOT get the virus, when in fact they can get it and they can also become super spreaders.
