HMS Queen Elizabeth: Covid outbreak on Royal Navy aircraft carrier despite whole crew having two vaccines

Around 100 crew members have been infected with Covid-19 on the HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Around 100 crew members have contracted Covid-19 on board HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier.

There have also been cases on four accompanying ships in the flotilla.

HMS Queen Elizabeth was a quarter of the way through a seven-month world tour when the outbreak spread across the Carrier Strike Group, which set sail in May.

The 3,700 crew members had all received both Covid-19 vaccinations, said Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.

He added that none of the crew have been seriously affected by the virus but that the situation is being managed.

A Royal Navy spokesperson said: “As part of routine testing, a small number of crew from the Carrier Strike Group have tested positive for Covid-19.

“The Carrier Strike Group will continue to deliver their operational tasks and there are no effects on the deployment.”

This is despite measures to mitigate the effect of Covid such as masks, social distancing and a track and trace system.

Last year, the crew of another Royal Navy ship – NHS Northumberland – had to return to shore and isolate over Christmas due to a suspected Covid outbreak.

The HMS Queen Elizabeth is currently in the Indian Ocean and is due to arrive in Japan later this year.

The global tour will cover 26,000 miles and will interact with one fifth of the world’s nations.

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said the deployment is a display of Britain’s naval strength, and an example of how the UK and US militaries operate effectively together.

The £3bn flagship was commissioned in 2017, and this is its first operational deployment. It leads a fleet which includes six Royal Navy ships, a Royal Navy submarine, a US Navy destroyer and a frigate from the Netherlands.

Lets see.... Pfizer vaccine is about 85% effective at preventing Covid and close to 99% effective at preventing serious illness or hospitalization in cases of the Delta variant.
AstraZeneca, from the UK is somewhat less effective. About 10 or 15% less effective against the delta variant.

If any of you have ever been on a Navy ship when it hit a liberty port, you would know that the 100 number is actually better than doctors would have thought. Over 3000 sailors spend a couple of nights hitting the bars and brothels in Cyprus and only about 100 test positive of Covid. They are packed into the waterfront bars with the locals and swapping air, spit and other bodily fluids with the local women, getting in fights with the locals, some needing stiches, some landing in jail for the night.... All in a normal liberty call for a carrier and it's escort ships.

Notice none of the sailors got sick and none required hospitalization.
Bet the ship's corpsmen are more busy treating crabs, the clap, and maybe a few cases of syphilis and eventually one or two who turn up HIV+. Probably at least as many VD cases. :lol:
If the ship's crew had not been vaccinated the infection rate would have been 6 or 7 times what it was and people would have been taken to the hospital and some may have died because the delta variant is worse than the original when it comes to young people. The ship would have been OOC for a couple of weeks.

Even the Pfizer the most effective vaccine out with only be effective at preventing covid in 85 tp 88% with the Delta Variant. It is damn close to 100% efficient at preventing hospitalization and death. It is 95 to 98 % effective at preventing the original version of covid.

This is one of the reasons destroyer sailors hate being in port when a carrier comes in. The ruin the liberty bars, spread VD among all the working girls, and piss of the locals.

LOL reported … In a liberal city … just like the Covid deaths, every death was Covid related. I know for a fact many people who got jabbed, were so sick and went to the hospital. Once they told them they had just got vaccinated … the hospital sent them home. This is fact … not liberal fake news

I guess that would be like all the states with the lowest vaccination rates are reporting the highest hospitalization rates.
Just can't trust the mostly republican controlled states to report it right. I guess you think they should have lied about it.

"COVID-19" has a 99.9+ percent survival rate among all age groups, combined.

• When the **official** flu/pneumonia/common-cold death stats "disappear" for 2020, for the first time in memory, you know something is wrong.

• When states, for the first time in history, hold a lottery with a million-dollar drawing prize as an incentive to get "vaccinated," you know something is wrong. (still not clear who is paying for these million-dollar prizes . . . )

• When all sorts of direct and costly incentives are being offered, for the first time in history, by the state/Fed, you know something is wrong.

• When NO one that I, or others know, has *officially* died via COVID - nor has anyone in my extended/extensive sphere hardly had a cold - particularly oldsters over 75 years of age - for the last 14+ months - you know that the **official** narrative of significant death numbers CANNOT be rationally supported.

• When those of us reading here can recall the 1968-1969 Hong Kong flu epidemic in the U.S. sweeping through, with some notable death numbers but NO lockdowns or stoppages of commerce, work spaces, or educational institutions, you know something is wrong.

• When the (allegedly) LEAST affected age group (kids, young adults) are being denied access to schools and universities until they can demonstrate that THEY have been "vaccinated," you know something is wrong.

• When wholly ineffective masking is demanded by many businesses, or state/local authorities, before one is allowed to move about in public spaces, you know something is wrong.

• When alternative treatments are specifically DENIED by CDC, medical staff (who are under state threat for losing their state medical license if they choose to prescribe such for their patients), you know something is wrong.

This list could easily be twice as long, showing the abject propaganda and too strong-handed and unconstitutional demands by Fed/State/local authorities - all of which would indicate, to a thinking individual, that something is wrong.
