If you charged a nickel for each pet and a quarter for each snuggle from his adoring fans, you'll be able to purchase that private island off the coast of your choice!
That's for sure! I got home at 8 (training new procedures to 2 employees), it's been a 12 hour day. I get home at 8, wife walked him when she got in at 4. So I take him for the last walk of the day (before my dinner, and no lunch to boot) and we walk 20 feet. Neighbor (army spec 4, young enough to be our son) stops and drops to his knees in the middle of the street, TBear jumps! on him and slathers him in puppy kisses. Then he starts chewing at his shoes. That kid's face lights up like a 10,000 watt light bulb. Our soldier neighbor is a young boy again, playing with his puppy. It was cute to watch.
10 minutes of slobber time with him, we keep walking. A new family with 3 small kids in the complex see him and go crazy. He doesn't nip them but he goes into adorable and loving mode. Another 20 minutes of pets, puppy kisses for each of them, and the kids all want a puppy now. Daddy was convinced after the first puppy snuggle, I think.
Then another neighbor comes up with her young daughter-TBear turns up the charm and THEY get puppy kisses and licks to the face. The little girl remembers Astor-and mama explains to her he's passed away, gone to heaven. TBear helps teach the little one a life lesson, awesome! And she was one that loved Astor's mohawk-TBear's face melted her heart. Literally.
I'll let the little kids pick him up-he's light and not prone to wiggling when picked up. And the little girls pick him up like their dolls; they immediately squeal when he starts licking their faces.
Yet another! neighbor drives by, sees TBear. She opens the door to her new car and asks to pet him. I put him on her seat and she goes nuts over him. A puppy-in a new car-and she literally hugs him for a few minutes with cars passing her. Hilarious, the dog now stops traffic!
Needless to say, we finally get back to the house at 915 and I get dinner. I feel like a personal assistant to a rock star, seriously. Come to find out Tbear helped mama cook dinner. Or, should I say taste test it. He loves her grilled chicken breasts, cooked in olive oil and rosemary. Apparently he had half a breast on his own, one little chicken cube at a time. He likes spinach too. And of course he had to help me taste test my plate. Imagine, a 10 week old puppy gourmand.
Oh, and my wife's bedroom slippers? They're now TBear's-they're shaping up to be his favorite chew toys. DearFoams needs to market a puppy slipper chew toy product line! He won't drag my shoes around-but we're finding her shoes ALL over the house. He's in love with them.
