HEALTH question to those who DID get the vaccine...

to those who DID get the vac:

When you got the vaccine, did you receive/get a certification/receipt/some sort of document that you did in fact get the vaccine?

Some sort of something to show as proof to someone/entity....?

Added question: has ANYONE asked to see it?

I got the vaccine, I have serious underlying health issues, all of my doctors suggested I get it. I did get a card with my first injection and they added the date of the second. It has space on it for follow up shots, I assume like the yearly flu shot, yearly vaccines will be needed since COVID-19 is a virus releated to the common cold the flu.

Added question:

Has ANYONE asked to see it for proof? Anyone at all?

I have been asked many times if I got the shot:
Answer 1 : NO -------and I get anger responses and questions a la "why not?"
Answer 2 : YES ------- and I get "oh OK..."

but no one askes to see the PROOF CARD...........

Well. In an efficient world, the place that gave you first (and likely second) dose will eventually upload your data (name, DB, times of shot, batch #s) into either state or federal database, which is what I was told at my first shot.
This may of course take time.
Once it's in the database, then it will probably be linked to all places that may want to use it for purposes we have read about (airlines, etc.).
So, you could use/create a fake card, but eventually you might be "found out", and when that happens, the feds could become involved, due to conspiracy to defraud CDC (that white little card), blah blah blah.
Just my two cents.

Didn't someone here say they actually go the shot and the person that gave them the card told them to put their name on it after the shot was given?

My dad and aunt got a card. Had no I'll effects at all other than tiredness.

While out with my real estate agent today she got a call that her 62 year old MIL had just died. They said on the call that she was feeling a bit off and went to take a shower. She she didn't come back out in a reasonable amount of time her husband went to check in her and found her crumpled over in the shower dead.. She said she was " healthy as a horse" but had just got her second vaccine 2 days ago. I didn't ask which vaccine. Related? No proof, but I'm guessing so...

I think I can...
I got it (Pfizer), got a white card, no ill effects at all. Nobody's ever asked, but I expect my doctor will want to know at my next checkup. Ohio seems to be pretty much on the honor system. So far.

The key thing that no one can replicate might be the batch # that the nurse writes down for first and second doses.
Some 6 alpha-numeric code. Can maybe write a random code, but again, if they all key into databases, then eventually something might snag if the card is illegitimate.

Also went to my primary health insurer and showed the counter-lady my first dose.
She keyed it into her database. She confirmed that eventually all databases should match.
When I go in next to the insurance provider, I'll show second dose and then ask for printout of their confirmation that I have the 2 dose. That way I'll have CDC card AND a nice 1-page proof of certification from my insurer.

Just look for some dumb ass that posted a picture of their card on social media.
Legit info for the taking.
Just make sure that the card was given someplace you could have easily gone to and make it match.
CVS in your town good, CVS in Alaska where you don't live bad.

I have right clicked and saved several for my own needs if necessary.

Somewhere in the insanity of it all, there are (supposed to be) HIPAA privacy laws, allegedly protecting one from having to reveal any health-related info to non-authorized medical personnel . . .

Of course, YMMV. <ahem>

Around here, people are told at the time of vaccination to take a photo of the card with their phones, just in case the card gets misplaced. I think a photo of the "card" would work as proof just as well as an actual card, not that I am suggesting anyone who wasn't vaccinated do that.

"You know folks, if I had a forged card, the very LAST thing I’d ever do is reveal that fact on a web forum. I mean WTF…."

Honestly, no ones asks for the darn thing. Everyone is flinging their masks off here no matter what. And yes, I know they are making it a federal offense, well they have to prove to me it is actually a vaccine too. They can't and I don't care what rules they make.

That said, I have not forged any card. I don't go anywhere I would need it.

No SS number requested. Only ones who have asked if I was vaccinated was doctors and they took my word for it. No one has asked to see the card.
