PLAY So I posted a Trailer for Sale

I posted this picture on facebook marketplace to sell the trailer.

I received over 40 replies in an hour.

5 for the trailer, 2 asking to buy the dog and unbelievably over 35 asking to buy the old truck... :bhd:

This old truck hasn't left the yard in several years but now I am wondering if maybe we should sell it! It has about 125,000 miles on it but the heater core is shot and the brakes need done. It had a wreck, someone ran into the rear end and a HUGE dent in the rear quarter panel and for some reason the AC doesn't work too well. One of the back windows is out so it has some leaves in the cab but it runs strong and the door locks and windows still work. We use it to move stuff around the place, mulch, limbs and stuff but I do have another truck and golf cart/trailer so don't really need it.

Is this worth trying to sell? I would have to order another title because we lost the title awhile back which is a pain, but It is also a pain keeping it because we have to move it when the guy comes to mow the lawn. What should someone pay for a very old and very ugly (1996) ford f-150? It has a tool box and a bed liner if this makes a difference.

Put it on the market and see what happens!

As for ordering the replacement title, see if you can do that online. We can in Iowa. It's no big deal.

Have you bought a NEW truck recently? Old trucks keep their value VERY well.

1996 Ford F-150 Value - $163-$2,657

Your mileage is low (relatively) so you should be at the upper end of that range.

Looks to be in allright shape from the front at least. The tool box and liner are a plus. Is it 4x4? In Colorado, you could probably start out at $5,000, and not bat an eye. I'd say go for it...

As for the dog... Looks like a Keeper! :)

I have a new Tundra I bought a couple years back so don't need to replace it. I lost the title for that and my car too so might as well make my way down to DMV and get both at the same time. I just hate going to DMV.
it is always good to have your titles in hand.

Had one guy offer $800 sight unseen. I didn't think it would get $500
The engine alone should get you $1200. Not having a back window / heater can be a small issue, but I am telling you the truck is barely done with 1/3 of its life. Ask for more and willing to settle a bit lower, but $5k would be doable all day long in SE GA.

This too shall pass.
Seriously, get the title, fix the truck, and keep it! I really think that if you sell it now, in another year or two or three you'll be regretting it. It's paid for, it still has many miles left in it, it's a useful type of vehicle.

Honestly, if I was you, I'd be keeping that trailer, too, unless you've got another one.

if you decide to sell it, take it to the Ford dealer and ask what they will give you for trade in, then check kelly blue book,
and then ask double.

one of the kids blew the CVT transmission in the 2016 Jeep.
at the dealership, where the problem was diagnosed, they offered $7500 for it as a trade in knowing the estimate for repairs was $4000. Shit, high blue book is only $10,500.

you could very well sell the truck for $2500 and they will turn around and use it as a trade in and get $5000

I would go with this also. If you don't need to reduce your footprint, fix it and have it in reserve. You can always sell it later. Trucks are harder to get these days. Used trucks are especially hard to get.

Facebook marketplace sucks, to many con artists and tire kickers.
See if you have a local buy sale trade type group on there, join that and list the items.
We have 3 that I'm aware of for my county. One regular one, one "kid crap free", and one for tools, vehicles, equipment and the like.

I'm going to go take a few more pictures of the truck so y'all can see just how ugly it is.. you only see the front. If you see the whole thing you might change your mind.

Our local DMV has never re-opened so you might want to check and see if you can do it online.
I'm in the don't sell the truck or trailer either group. :)
It looks better than 90% of the farm trucks on the road in this county. I'd get some greenhouse plastic and tape over that window though, too easy for a copperhead to crawl in. Or in my case, get halfway to work and realize that I have a stowaway barn cat.

Tell me about it! We had over a 1400' of 4 board fence we put in a couple years back. Today it would be who knows how much! I don't even want to think about it!
Four board fence. I could be comfortable behind it - keeps the riff-raff out.

Humans will step over a two board fence - they may even climb a step to throw themselves over a three board fence - but only the most determined will take on a four board fence.

We originally had my mule and horse in the front yard which is why we put up the fence. Now it's a good deterrent to people entering the yard. I restain it each year to keep it looking pretty. I don't know how long the posts will last though. They are not like the old creosote posts that's for sure!
