CHAT Got the J&J vax today, and it’s ENTIRELY AlfaMan’s fault!

I finally decided a few days ago to get the J&J injection too. I did a lot of reading and research about all the vaccines available, and settled on the J&J. At this time, literally every adult I know that didn't come down with COVID has already been vaccinated - DH, my children, and all my closest friends. I realized that if the vaccine really does kill people off in a few years, I don't want to be the only one left.

Indiana's government website has a link into the portal for scheduling, and I could only find one place in my county that is offering J&J. The first appointment I could get is in the first week of May, so I have a long wait.

I'd like to thank everyone who has shared their experiences and opinions. It has all really helped me make a decision I have been agonizing over.

Dennis, give us the minute to minute detaills, and I was actually going start another thread about being alone without somebody calling for help. As an older person it totally sucks, your pets, whom depend on you, your family whom may check in occasionally... My nightmare, the one that keeps up every night, is my wife. She had a Left brain Stroke, she can’t talk, and do not get me wrong she knows everything that is going on. She does not have the ability to express herself to the authorities.

She is unable to call 911, that’s why I moved to an apartment, hopefully she will go out and scream No!!!! Because when she needs anything my name is No. I have said this before on previous threads, my name is Steve. And like you Dennis, I am scared what if something happens to you and me, is there something we can do..

DEPLORABLE ME
Well I'm relying on the Ivermectin and zinc, (and summerthymes elderberry!) and I DO NOT TRUST the godless commie scum pushing so hard for this non-vaccine, the very same people who think the world is overpopulated.

Hope we don't have to say goodbye to you all when the possible secondary effects kick in some time down the road, but.......

Every day in life, we pays our money and makes our choices.

...and takes our chances

Wife is five years older than me and a throat cancer survivor from a bit over a year ago. She’s making noises about getting the jab. Her choice. I’m 60, got asthma at about 57 but otherwise in decent health. I’m torn.

This makes it harder to decide.

Dammit!

The nurse who gave Dennis the jab realized in horror that she'd given him the wrong medication after she read the insert that said, "If you experience an erection lasting three hours or longer, see your doctor immediately."

I hear that families in his neighborhood are hiding their wives and locking up their daughters!!!

On a serious note, DW and I still refuse to take any of the COVID vaccinations, but I have prayed for Dennis and the rest of you who have taken it for protection against bad side effects.

The problem is with that theory is he is burning on urination which means his penis is burning out from the inside out soon it will be gone and he will be left with a vagina or gaping hole. Trans-humanism at its best. :D

Wife got the J&J last week. Wants to travel to FL to see her brother and did not want to have the trip blocked because of no vax. No reaction except a mild headache the next day. I passed on getting it.

Is there a cost for the jab?

I don't know about the J&J Vax, but I wouldn't think so. There is no cost to either the Pfizer or Moderna Vax. When I got mine, they didn't even ask for any ID, or any insurance info. I signed up for my vax through our little local hospital's web portal. I signed up on a Sunday night, and they sent me an appointment confirmation the next day. Quick and easy.

pretty sure if she called 911

it would be responded to

even if no communication

she could make some kinda sign that she was still on the line

tapping phone etc

just as long as when they say "do you need help?"

NO!!

I,m sure, even then, they would send somebody

She does not know how to operate the phone, I do need to get a life alert system where all she has to do is push a button. I have to remind her everyday how to operate the t.v. Remote, no biggie for me she’s my girl!!

Counterthought: people are opposed to genetic modification of corn, but okay with that being done to them. So, you trust Stalin's and Mao's philosophical heirs in the U.S. Government more than you do corporations out to make money. Oooookay.

I had decided not to get either of the rna vaccines and that I would hold out for the J&J one and done. One thursday I got an email from the local senior coalition saying that friday there would be a J&J vax clinic. Why our little nowhere county got the J&J I have no idea, but it felt like a strong nudge to go ahead and do it, so I did. Slightly sore arm and little energy the next day and that was it. It's been a month since the shot with no after effects so now I'm vaxed, done with it, and nothing is hanging over my head. Good move Dennis!

There is a Dr who is saying if you get the vaccine, you have 5 to 10 years to live. If you are over 70 you have 3 to 5. No thanks, I'll take my chances and hope to live more than that. If not it was God's will and not the pharmaceutical companies decision. I'll keep taking my Ivermectin.
My ex (who remains an existential threat to me and a rotten parent with 50% custody) is about to get the 2nd shot this week. She turns 65 this summer. Thank you for the best news I've had in a while.

(Unfortunately, my beloved wonderful mother drank the Kool-Aid and got the mRNA injection, but she is mid-80s, so who knows how long she had even without boosting her odds of contracting cancer.)

Thanks for your report and Dennis for his. I'm watching how it goes for future reference :-)

I saw the Dr earlier this week for my annual physical and got my 2nd pneumonia vaccination. First one last year just gave me a headache and a bit of a sore arm. This one, muscle with the injection site looked like it was hit by a softball, solid as a rock, swollen, and some redness. Fortunately that faded within 24 hrs, still a bit sore and I'm feeling a little more tired than normal. Not unusual from what I hear.

He asked if I'd gotten the Covid vax, I said no, not yet, still watching - he said that's fine, no pressure whatsoever. Really surprised me. Interestingly, we are out in the country and we just got text msgs from our county saying they've gotten the J&J vax in and were taking appts. For the first time I started thinking about getting it, too (not right after the pneumonia vax, though).

We have family members who work at major universities nearby, and as of yet none have gotten the vax nor are they planning to. But I'm wondering if it will be an issue going forward for university staff. We've all pretty much agreed that if we ever decided to get the Covid vax, with all we know so far the J&J one would be the only one we'd consider.

Every bit of info on your experience with the vax that you post helps everyone - thank you!

I find it sadly comical that so many here loudly proclaim "don't trust the government" and yet stand in line to take a unproven jab, wildly politicized , by that same government.
Seems pretty clear to me that the beast and/or beast system finally arrives, getting people to accept the mark will be a cake walk.
