Idaho is having wind. I am not sure how widespread. Wind is WSW. Blew a section of fence down in the yard, a few trees in town, but nothing huge, but what is weird is an auto message from the county saying the county offices will be closed because of the weather and we have had more wind than this and never closed that I remember. I am just kind of on edge because big huge old pine tree in neighbors yard blowing back and forth and what is going on in the world. Well, maybe not weird. The county website says downed trees and power outages, so I guess we are having major wind in the area.

I haven't been able to this morning. I suspect they're overloaded from new users, installing new servers AND having to deal with insidious DDOS attacks.

ok thank you. its was seeming that people were able to get in and i still could not. i will just wait.

I've only been able to get in 2 times in 2 days. When I did, I was no longer signed in to my account and when I tried to log back in, it said my password or email was incorrect. I had to request a new password email and that took one day to get worked out. I can only imagine the stress the owner is under.

Big rain and windstorm last night in the Seattle area. Power kept flickering, then going off an on around midnite. I already had my Coleman camping lantern pre-positioned on the bookcase for just such an eventuality, but the darn thing conked out. Changed the batteries and it still won't work. Bulb must need replacement. Good to know so I'll be prepared for the next lengthy outage. I'll also extract my extra lanterns from storage when I stow the Xmas decorations there later today. Winter's far from over.

Down in the Willamette Valley, OR, we lost power for 6 hours about 12:30am this morning.. No warning that the wind would howl. It was way over the 34-37 mph gusts that were forecast. I see there's still a lot of outages today.

And a lot of trees down and tree branches littering the roads.

There's a HUGE weather system moving through the pacific northwest right now and tens of thousands are w/o power due to the high winds! I posted a thread on the main about this system moving into Iowa starting this evening, but it'll be really bad here tomorrow and Friday. I'm very concerned about losing power here as well.

NW Montana. Winds took down tens of thousands trees (if not more). Weeks of heavy rains softened the ground, power will be out for days.

Life in the tin can down by the river is very western. Honda 1000 watt inverter genny keeping essential systems up and running. Temps to drop into the teens. Tree laying on my bus, elderly family member lost a five stall carport. Will try to free the vehicles in the next few days.
