The national guard falls under the jurisdiction of the governors...in the case of DC it is delegated to the SECDEF.
That is, unless the guard units have been federalized...
POTUS is also considered "civilian authority".
If the sitting POTUS issues a legal order they are saying they will follow it. A "legal order" is the key point here. With the Pentagon being full of attorneys interpretation is going to be key here.

The military Trump just handed over to Marxist butchers will try and line us up snd shoot us since they have no honor anymore. Maybe some will mutiny, and support patriots and maybe not. But I think Trump know the JCoS would not support him, so he could do nothing, but I hope he waits for them to use force to remove him from the Whitehouse.

I was just saying the 2nd floor is where most of the .mil JAG and legal authorities resides. That and a door you don't want to go through.
The current JCS is not Trump friendly. They proved that with the meeting with Pelosi regarding JCS ignoring what they might see as an illegal order to fire under Pres. Trump.

I wasn't guard so I'm not sure...I think it has as much to do with who is funding the endeavor as it does anything else. I also don't know if activation to DC supporting the SECDEF is automatically Title 10.
Review the chain of command...orders flow flow from POTUS to the SECDEF to the services or from the SECDEF directly.

Actually Pigolsi committed treason by even speaking with the Joint Chiefs because that’s out of her prevue. She is not Commander in Chief-neither is Biden yet. Among others Hal Turner said not to trust anything that comes out over the next few days. So I’m thinking that they’re saying this to flush out NP, CS, JB, Hunter and others so they can turn around and arrest them for treason.

And we are, his deplorables are, will pay the price for his stupid actions. We got the insurrection act, just not from him. And in 10 days when Biden is issuing orders to begin rounding up deporables, WHICH THE MILITARY WILL FOLLOW. The reason being Trump allowed them to label all of us domestic terrorists. I mean just look at what they are saying about us.
It doesn't really matter at this point. Perhaps when normalcy bias will finally wear off when the US military is murdering us since we are terrorists and that action would be a LEGAL ORDER SANCTIONED BY POTUS.

EMCOMUS, the issue was when Matis was appointed SECDEF because he hadn't been a civilian long enough to take the SECEF role. SECEF is SUPPOSED TO BE a civilian.
