I would suggest preparing against pandemic 2.0. It could wipe out a lot of people, considering the current state of affairs.

The fighting will come, regardless. But if your group is mostly dead, their won't be much of a fight left.

Hunt up CIRCUS WORLD (Barry Longyear) and see how brass bee bees became currency.

4.0 out of 5 stars Big Top Planet
Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2013

The carnival or the circus seems to be such a natural setting for a fantasy or a science fiction novel. Carnivals and circuses are so naturally colorful and magical. They are populated with exotic and flamboyant characters (some good, some evil). And yet, few carnival or circus fantasies are impeccably written. I'm not quite sure why.

But here we have _Circus World_ (1980), a collection of seven science fiction circus stories from _Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine_. I suspect that if you asked Longyear back in the seventies why he wrote them, he would have said mainly for fun. Yet Longyear's stories are better written than some more pretentious circus tales.

The background of the story is this: 200 years ago, the circus ship _Baraboo_ crashed on the planet Momus. The ancestors of the survivors have built up a planetary culture based on the circus: big top performances, apprenticeships, bartering, magic, and acting. Throughout these stories, Momus is being threatened by a hostile planetary power.

My two favorite stories in the collection are "The Quest" and "The Magician's Apprentice". The first is about the absent-minded old storyteller who _lives_ his tales and accidently foils an invasion. The second is about an upstart magician's apprentice who pits herself against a powerful black magician.

Stories on the passable but fair side are "The Second Law" and "Dueling Clowns". Both are comical tales that strain a little too hard for their punchlines.

Good stories, but not quite as good as the first two, are "The Tryouts," "Proud Rider," and "Priest of the _Baraboo_". "The Tryouts" introduces Lord Allenby, Ambassador _exraordinaire_, whose job it it is to lead the individualistic citizens of Momus away from disaster. "Priest of the _Baraboo_" is the final story, in which we see that Momus does not altogether escape disaster. My horse loving niece would love the equines in "Proud Rider," but she would be less enamoured of their stern trainer.

So come to Momus for some old fashioned story telling. See the clowns and lizards and bareback riders. Marvel at the Magicians. Listen to the newsvenders and the storytellers. You will, alas, see no elephants. But that is a subject for another book.

I used to use a Claymore bag for shotgun shells. Buckshot on one side and slugs on the other. Now Claymore bags are controlled items and not surplussed any more. Who would have thought it?
I just ordered a 38 Special 357 Magnum cleaning kit from planet optics, and also a 20 gauge cleaning kit form them. They, I kid you not, sent me an email saying the 38 special cleaning kit will ship in 24 hours, but the 20 gauge cleaning kit is, get this, on a 3 to 5 day HOLD SINCE IT IS CLASSED AS RESTRICTED SALE. WTF?
They are in Northbrook, Illinois, outside of Chicago which is the only possible reason you would put a shipping hold on a shotgun clean kit. They did notify me that ALL my HK speed loaders were on export ban, as well as the 45 round 20 gauge shotgun bandolier.
You will all be interested to know that as I pawed through some of my "stuff" I found a Chinese Communist ammo carry bag that I somehow and somewhere picked up. really not sure where. It has a picture of Mao on it. SERIOUSLY. :prfl:

I just have to figure out a way to carry it over my shoulder, since I can now do a pretty good Antifa Marxist infantry man/person imitation now. Same pic as our new Marxist bitch mayor had on her skirt I think. Oh, it was a real Chinese PLA infantry ammo bag from Andy and Bax's I think. Yep, nobody can say Doomer Doug ain't gonna be prepared for these Marxist knuckleheads. And you all think soros is going to let you hide on your fortified villas out in the boonies. The collapsing military will send out the warlord platoons and have a tank or two level your bunkers.

Unless Trump gets a handle on it, oh say by the 5th of November.

Currently, I have fifty+ 8rd full moon clips loaded. Loads are in 158gr SJHP and 125gr SJHP. My current load out has twenty fmcs in double belt pouches, four in pockets, and of course, one in each weapon... 208rds all up. Power, speed, accuracy. My two Ruger Super GP100’s in .357 magnum are well fed...

Have a nice day:D!

IMHO the GP100 is the world's finest survival revolver. Its toughness and modular design makes it the one revolver that - if I had to - I would choose to walk off into an unknown future and have complete confidence in. I envy you your two GP100s! I only have one.

It's amazing how many patriots willfully ignore the fact that those chants, is the agenda in concert with the Democrat party, the Deep State and the Globalists to DO EXACTLY THAT. "NO USA AT ALL".

And everyone is pinning all their hopes on an election that those same thugs and seditionists above have already told us is null-and void - regardless of what the count is on November 3rd.

Bewilderment upon bewilderment is coming for folks that absolutely will not allow themselves to see what is actually going on and where we have already arrived.

Those that are dazed and confused will be collateral damage. The chance that millions of folks. will not be prepped whatsoever is very high. What will these people do? Will your unprepared neighbor be just as troublesome as the 'bad' guys?

What will these people do?

Die in place, or become pawns.

The Fifth of November

Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes and his companions
Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
All up alive.
Threescore barrels, laid below,
To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
A stick and a stake
For King James's sake!
If you won't give me one,
I'll take two,
The better for me,
And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
Hip, hip, hooor-r

Even if Trump loses, divisions in the military will not end once he leaves office.IMHO....Indeed, the US is looking at the most dangerous election since 1860, when Abraham Lincoln’s win was what spurred southern slave states to secede from the Union.

The loose ends are mind boggling .....and remember this....WHO BENEFITS once the herd is thinned.

NOTE: You may need a scorecard in order to know who the players are.

Matt didn't cover anything really that I haven't considered but I don't think that most people are going to emotionally and psychologically be able to endure what would be the result of a civil war in the U.S. In short we've had it far too soft and easy and people think that it could never happen here even when they are witnessing how quickly conditions are degrading. Your truly on your own you and anyone in your immediate sphere of influence. He highly recommends people not to be in the cities and suburbs and that is good advice that hopefully a lot of people have paid attention to over the years.

The level of violence and ferocity that is coming is going to be too much for most people to endure.

I agree 100%
Plus many or maybe most people are just going to die. Many through suicide. Many or most on this site will die. Mostly we are over 60 years of age and that is okay because we have lived our lives already. And I'm not saying we will go quietly into the night. Just being practical and facing reality.
Many young people, because they have never faced true raw violence, think they are invincible. They will find out that they are not. But the young, say 16 through 40, if they are in good physical condition now, have the best odds of survival. They would have the stamina to last longer. Of course most lack knowledge, experience, and common sense but they still have the best chance to survive if they are willing and capable of learning.

Remember the old adage of mindset, skillset and toolset.

Far to many are not going to be able to make the 'switch' to the new normal. Every time I put that uniform on I was able to make the switch mentally and go do my army thing for however long that lasted and then when going back to putting the civvies on again back to being a civilian.

When this pandemic got rolling [or plandemic however you wanted to look at it] it was a quick realization and acceptance of the situation for me that everything had changed almost overnight and that we were entering a new phase in our ongoing collapse that we were not going to recover from.

The move to kinetic warfare that has been seen in several of our larger cities was a simple warmup for what is coming after the election. Figure that you have two to three weeks left to get your ducks in a row. Folks need to remember how quickly the stores emptied out of toilet paper and hand sanitizer several months ago but when this starts popping in multiple cities and suburbs around the country our stores are going to look like Venezuela in short order.

I think at this point we've received about all the warning we are going to get.

Kinetic military action is a euphemism for military action involving active warfare, including lethal force. The phrase is used to contrast between conventional military force and "soft" force, including diplomacy, sanctions and cyber warfare.

The only way the bad guys LOSE is with Tiger Teams for every floor of every DC building with hit lists.

And the guys with the Hit Lists get there FIRST, in front of the rabble and their open unsuppressed AR's.
Indeed. I would suggest strongly that Emphasis on this happening just before the election In order to succeed. Kind of like that “Amerika” movie with Kris Kristopherson, only the White hats get there before the black hats, and, I would also suggest that simultaneously similar events happening in China and Europe...

Probably about 1000 to 10,000 efficiently projectiles would be sufficient to decapitate the top echelon world-wide and freeze the juggernaut, and let the herd figure out whether to stampede or stay frozen in place...

Don't forget all the now-scrubbed stories and pics of Islamic/Jiahdist materials found littering areas of the Southern border.

We have state actors in our midst by many thousands with intents to do harm via revenge for things like Soleimani.

This is true. And still the vast majority are pining all hopes on an election and that somehow we are going to be spared and saved at the last minute from the freight train hurtling towards us at 100 MPH.

Kind of getting too late in the game to make a move now. You pretty much have to be where you planned to be once the boogaloo starts. I got the heck out of dodge over 20 years ago now and never looked back. I do emphasize with people who are dithering and don't know what to do but indecision has it's own unique set of consequences as well.

yep....too late......

About indecision....HE WHO HESITATES IS LOST......quote by Deputy Dog...1969

Sayings about hesitation
  • Hesitation increases in relation to risk in equal proportion to age. ...
  • Make up your mind to act decidedly and take the consequences. ...
  • What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do. ...
  • Fear causes hesitation, and hesitation will cause your worst fears to come true.

It is a audio only broadcast. He had some great info on there. Still, not much was relevant to me personally here in downtown Portland. All this flee to the boonies stuff has NO relevance to a 67 year old guy in the situation I find myself in. Now if certain things had played out differently over my life in general, and since January in particular, then I might have some options. They didn't and I don't.

I can't criticize as I haven't walked in your shoes but it's not like this has just sprung upon us with no warning over the last year or so. We that have been gifted with perception have known for more than twenty years that these days were coming upon us and have had opportunities over that period of time to make different life choices. I live in the boonies in a very low population density and my only regret is that I didn't move further out into the bush as there are still too many people around for my tastes.

YMMV

I found this anonymous comment at zerohedge....I would like to share it with y"all.

You are watching the USA become the progressive sh1tholes the European nations have already become.
The main reason why most of the original inhabitants of the USA left their homes.
Liberalism is a mental disorder, that left unchecked will always kill the patient. Liberalism must always invent a victim to fight for, because the liberal feels guilty for what they stole. Whether it be cheating, buying influence, or other underhanded tactic, a liberal can't ever get ahead through merit, for their entire world view holds no merit. Based on emotion, not reason. That by liberating a victim, this somehow makes up for leading a life of no value to the advancement of society.
If liberalism led to prosperity, then every major city would be a beacon of progress and a utopia for the citizens. Instead every major city becomes a hell hole for everyone but the absolute top of the elite class. Those progressive lords, claiming it is the fault of the productive that keeps the victim class down. Not the insane policies of the elite.
For if the liberal allows the victim to prosper, leaving behind victimhood, what purpose does the liberal now have?

what purpose does the liberal now have?

Depriving the rest of the population of life, liberty and property, of course. The mirror image of our founding principle.

I own the choices I made, hfcomms. It is really about money, time and inclination and interest over the last 40 years or so. I have no car. My health isn't up for rural living at all. I have lived on farms and in smaller cities; honestly I prefer the isolation of a big city. Of course, the post covid city is pathetic. So no, it is too late now. Finally, no wife, no children and the family are all liberals and fairly worthless. Bottom line, it is just moi raging against the machine. I know how this will play out. I am at peace with it.
They won't leave you alone because they can't leave any of us alone. It will take them longer but they will come for your rural enclave after they have dealt with moi. Count on it.

Their endgame is to have the makers support the takers.

That is status quo. Their problem is they cannot leave well enough alone. They want EVERYONE poor - save the chosen few elite.

If you don't get China is prepping for war with the USA, you haven't been paying attention. I read John Michael Greers book " Twilight's Last Gleaming" many years ago. All of you need to read it for HOW China defeats and shatters the USA.
War with China, civil war followed by partition of the USA into zones IS how this will play out. Trump can't save us either.

I was thinking about this....
What if God intervenes and Trump wins.

Do you think China would go for broke and attack our homeland? Or would they try to make new trade and peace deals instead ?
