…… Is there a modern equivalent to the old “No Pest Strip”?

Back in the 70’s, there was a great product for killing flies called the No Pest Strip.see photo below:

I have a “gnat” problem inside the house. I need something “passive” that I can just hang up and let it do the work. And don’t even talk to me about flypaper. I’ve tried it, and they’re not attracted to it. I don’t want to keep spraying bug spray in the house.

Is there a modern equivalent of the thing pictured above?

I used to have a gnat problem when growing seedlings indoors, and had to resort to trapping them. (Nowadays I nuke the wet seed starting/potting soil in the microwave before use - that seems to do a job on the gnat eggs.) This does not have insecticide, and it helps the problem somewhat. It's heavily coated with something akin to Vaseline jelly, so you'll not want to get it on yourself. Amazon.com : Yellow Sticky Aphid Whitefly Trap Pack of 15 : Insect Traps : Garden & Outdoor

Don’t let the Piss Ants get you down…
We had some gnats or fruit flies, not sure which and got rid of them with the little apple traps that you put a pheremone/vinegar in and the buggers drown.

Sticky pads work also.

It appears that they breed in the drains. Bleach doesn’t work for long. They don’t appear to be attracted to anything in particular. They’re in the kitchen and bathrooms.

I don't think they contain anything to attract bugs.

I believe it is just a convenient landing place to a bug and when they land they stay. Ours are placed near the half glass kitchen door.
you are right, Vestige. There is no attractant. Some flying creepers have flying paths that they follow, and we put those tapes in those "fly zones".

no, sir....but the trick is to put it in at night, when you aren't using the drains....Good luck...bugs can drive ya crazy....my thoughts go back to our "stink bug" invasion....it truly was an invasion....sorry, off topic....

Try a wine bottle with about an inch and a half to 2 inch of sweet wine in it the sweeter the better. Just leave it sitting out on the counter open

Small tactical nuke. Air burst, of course. Of course, you'll have to at least tent the house for that. You and the pups will have to leave for a day. Or two. Or several hundred years. But I bet it works. :D

Here are some links on the kind of gnats that you may be talking about: Do you have houseplants inside? the article says they breed in soil or damp areas. If you don't have houseplants their breeding ground may be outside. Article also says they are attracted to CO2.

Just know that your problem is in my thoughts and I'm wishing you successful eradication. Keep us posted :)

Check TSC tractor farm supply. He have fly strips, the kind I have not seen for years. Not sure if they have the kind with the box around it tho. But it was the long yellow sticky ones.
