A “psalm sing” attended by more than 150 people Wednesday in the Moscow City Hall parking lot led to three arrests, including that of Latah County commission candidate Gabriel Rench.

Rench, a Moscow Republican running against incumbent Moscow Democrat Tom Lamar in November’s election, was one of five people cited by Moscow police for suspicion of being in violation of Moscow's mask/social distancing order, according to Moscow Police Chief James Fry.

Of the five cited, two also were arrested for suspicion of resisting or obstructing an officer. The fifth, Rench, was arrested but not charged with allegedly refusing to identify himself to police, according to Fry.

Safe is relative. Politicians can always be bought off, because any who don't cooperate will just get replaced with another who will. We've seen laws change overnight. Not much can be done about that.

Local demographics probably matters most interms of preferred geography, otherwise, pick along the urban rural spectrum depending on your comfort level. The best you can do going forward, is to stay under the radar, and pick your battles, because if some infuriating .gov or BLM type transgression is not really the hill to die on, don't fight there.

Apologies for all the cliches.

The Mayor signed into LAW imposing a fine of 1000. for those not complying with his mask order. Lambert is a democrat. He is the dumbass that said people would have to wear masks in their homes. All though I never knew if that was enforced. The whole entire city commission voted recently to extend this mask order until January of 2021. Moscow is a mostly liberal college town with the U of I and University of Washington 8 miles away. They have not had 1 death from covid. People are calling the cops daily now reporting people without masks.

I was going to move to north of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho,,,,once upon a time. Its a beautiful area. I even bought some property up there.
But,
The more time i spent there, the more Democrats i saw involved in the Coeur d'Alene, politics. But i could see a political change in the wind coming. Socialism was coming to change idaho.
I thought i was finially moving into an area with like minded conservative people. I loved most of the people i met there. Most were good honest hardworking people.
But i could see a political change in the wind. When i read the local newspapers.
Them damn democrap socialist commies are everywhere!

Yes I saw the protest in Moscow, didn't see the arrest. The city counsel is full of of left-leaning, "freedom loving" (not) people! I think those arrested defense is a jury trial and pull out the CDC and NIOSH's own data on exactly how ineffective face diapers are. Illustrate exact how inept all the wishy-washy guidance has been from,WHO, CDC et. al. has been.
That said, Doug Wilson has quite a reputation in Moscow for other things not related to Covid orders too. But at least they were doing something!

I just moved from there after 5 yrs. It was a nice town but is being over run by escapees and the left-leaning higher educational types along with the PC crowd common to university towns.

Bonner County is still good in spite of the Sandpoint "loves all" crowd. The sheriff is very conservative and the next election hopefully sees him retained.

Kootenai county is a bit more left leaning but nothing like Moscow. But the truth is, truth is the new hate speech and no place on this planet is safe except under the wings of the Almighty God.

Interesing the name of the town where this occurred:

MOSCOW

Hope that's not an omen as to where America is headed

(but I fear it is---just like the omen of our flag coming down by itself during the Olympics RIGHT ON the line of the National Anthem that goes, "IF our flag was still there...")

Update as of this morning!

Debby Stephens
Rench was in the shop this morning, Thursday the morning after this, and the judge dismissed all charges saying these offenses aren't enforceable! The resisting arrest of two individuals were dismissed because the cops started the shoving. I think the mayor his trying to smear Renchs name. Hope they sue!!! Stand up for what's right.

Moscow, Idaho is a charming smallish town and home to the Idaho Vandals. I have in the past visited on day trips to check out the local pubs and window shop. BUT, you can smell liberalism in the air there. I very much doubt the mindset of the locals are much different than any other college town in the U.S. I didn't like the feel of the isolation there, and of course there is Pullman, WA which is only a couple of miles away which actually felt more conservative. Pullman is home to Eastern Washington University "Cougars".

Now back to the point of Christians getting arrested for singing Hymns. I moved up to the Inland Northwest almost 20 years ago and recently left it because of the insane amount of crazy leftists. I am not sure if the true Idaho I knew can be redeemed at this point. Sure, there are places farther north like Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry, but I must admit there are some really true nut cases in those parts. I don't feel that Idaho is all what it's cracked up to be anymore. And I think the arrests of these peaceful Christians will probably continue. I can say without a doubt that bat shit crazy ex-Californian's came up there to turn the place into their final Utopia. Coeur d'Alene's government is full blown Democrat at this point. So sad.
