Yet another spelling natsee rant. Lately, it seems that folks don’t understand the difference in these words. So for the sake of my personal sanity (sigh) allow me to assist:

SIGHT: That sure was a sight to see. Let’s go take in the sights later. That gunsight just won’t zero.

SITE: That’s the wrong site for that building. I’ll be on-site next week.

CITE: I need you to cite the source of that quote.

Please at least TRY to use them correctly. Please?

Thank yooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuu

This interesting. You do this on a regular basis (because, after all, you're perfect...right?) and claim it's for your sanity. Yet, when someone posts a simple definition to an uncommon word you go off with your INTJ aneurysm's. Seems like you might be the major INTJ here.

(Here's the passive aggressive part.....) Just sayin'..... for a friend.

There’s nothing passive aggressive about you. You’ve been a dick since the day you came on board, following me around and bitching every chance you get. My patience for you ass-holery has a limit. You’re about there. My suggestion for you would be to NEVER address me in a post again in any way. Ever.

Just a friendly piece of advice.

Okay, I admit at first I thought you were somewhat petty correcting everyone about spelling. Now I have completely done a 180 and like little threads like this. It never hurts anyone to pick up a few pointers, whether it is about spelling or something else. So at this point I say - Thank you, Dennis.

Now threads like this one our a cite four soar ayes.

I’m not petty. I’m OCD. Petty is an active choice.

I don’t post these things to bust on anyone. It hurts my head when I see *obvious* incorrect word utilization. Most of the time I can force myself past it. But lately, it’s like too many people have either gotten incredibly lazy, or slipped a cog in their use of words.

English is one of the hardest languages for foreigners to master, because it borrows so heavily from so many other languages. Many/most languages try to remain “culturally pure.” We don’t care about that at all.

For example, “potato” in french is “pommes de terre”. Translation: apples of the earth.

Not to defend any word misuse, but if you have that stupid autocorrect on your devise, it may just "correct" the word for you to something that it shouldn't. Smart devices are not always smart!

My vote (do I get a vote?) is "slipped a cog" .
