Twitter links stopped auto expanding for me yesterday sometime. Is this a forum thing or a browser thing (Brave) maybe?
Website links still auto expand btw.

Okay, let's go REAL slow.

I assume that you have a bookmark that brings you to the TB2K website. Is that true?

If you created that bookmark shortly after we moved to the new software, the "map" that lives underneath the bookmark will look something like this:

https://xf.timebomb2000.com/xf/index.php?forums/timebomb2000.9/

It is necessary that you edit the "map" to be something like:

https://www.timebomb2000.com/xf/index.php?forums/timebomb2000.9/

Do you see the difference?

Now, unless you tell me what web browser you use to surf this site, I cannot provide you with the necessary instructions to actually do the edit. Understand? You must tell me what browser you use.

A "bookmark" is a little data packet that contains:

1) A TITLE that means something to you

2) A MAP to the website that is associated with the bookmark

You may need to get a more technically oriented person to come to your house and teach you one-on-one. Long distance tutorials are evidently not going to be effective for you.

I'll tell you this one last thing. After that, it's outside the scope of anything I can do to help you.

A WEB BROWSER is a computer program, like a word processor or and email program. You use it to go on the Internet. IF YOU ARE ON THE INTERNET YOU ARE USING A WEB BROWSER COMPUTER PROGRAM TO DO IT.

Thank you Dennis, for being patient with a very old lady who lives on the computer, So far I am getting here, hope it lasts. Computer geeks I do not know of any , maybe in the church, but the church has shut down.

So, again, nice and slow, after you turn your computer on and activate your web browser application program software, what EXACTLY do you do to get to this web site?

Dennis I click on xerforo and time bomb comes up ,It says https;//www.timebomb2000.com/xl/index.php?threads/tags-on-the-new-software-564472/page-5

I still don’t know what you click on. Let’s say there were no browser tabs open to this forum. Let’s say that you had only one tab open and it went to a Fox News. Let’s say you have to open a new blank tab to get here.

So you open the tab. Now you need to “do something” to get here. What, exactly, do you do?

Now we’re getting someplace! The favorites bar has bookmarks on it. Right click on the “xenForo” bookmark and select either “edit bookmark” or “properties.” (It should be one of those.) The actual URL should then appear. Check to see that it starts out with:

https://www.timebomb2000

rather than

http://XF.timebomb2000

And while you’re editing it, change the NAME from “xenForo” to something you’ll know, like “TB2K”.

Here’s the exact URL that you can copy and paste in to the bookmark:

https://www.timebomb2000.com/xf/index.php?forums/timebomb2000.9/

EDIT URL is what you want. After that, right click again and RENAME. (This is how you’ll change the name that shows up on the favorites bar.)

Dennis why do I have to change anything? I am afraid I will screw up and everything will go to hell and then some. I am getting on okay, so why am I doing anything?? Why can I just leave well enough alone?? Please tell me this is okay. I am just to damn old for all of this. I come here to read and then get off and play games. That is my computer life. Nothing fancy. Irene

Is it possible to get a "prayers sent" reply button (similar to the "like" button)? I would like to acknowledge prayer requests without having to tie up bandwidth with a formal reply. Maybe that's not kosher; your call.

Those buttons are not individual buttons. It’s a “strip” of emojis which require “manipulation.” Honestly, I dont have the hundreds of hours to do the things people want. As I’ve said multiple times, I’ve literally spent thousands of hours customizing the old software. Things that you don’t think were custom. I don’t have the time.

I had to switch browsers, after trying everything possible under the sun to try to clear the bookmarks, etc. No dice.

That was my solution. Getting used to new browser. Not going to delete the old one yet.

I looked through here but didnt see it. Is there a way to make a boarder on the side somehow. As i scroll on my ipad or phone i am constantly hit the reply button. Just happens to be where my scroll thumb is. Or it hits the book mark tab. I then tried using the left side and it constantly takes me to peoples profiles.

Dennis,
The thread "Hong Kong virologist claiming coronavirus cover-up tells 'Bill Hemmer Reports': 'We don't have much time'" saves the second and third pages without denoting them as page2 and page3. So it overwrites the first page.

Some other threads have had this happen. I first thought it was me.

Thanks.

This software is a huge improvement over the previous incarnation, in that if you save an entire page of a thread, it actually includes the page number. The previous one didnt... you had to remember to manually add the page number each time, or it overwrote each page using the title for the first page of the thread.

For example, if I was on my desktop and right clicked and selected "save this page", it would automatically be titled "faqs-on-the-new-software Page 5"

Apparently, shadow has run into some instances where it isn't doing that.

I don’t know what you mean by “saves”. Can you elaborate?
When I save the page on my computer the file has the prefix, thread title and page number if there is more than one page.
On the thread indicated it looks like the title is long and runs out of room for the page number. Thus the second and third pages over write the previous file. Or it tells you you already have that file even though you only just read it (page 2) for the first time.

I am 66 and only learned to receive texts because I can no longer find a durable flip phone and had to buy a smart phone. My ability to speak computer is limited.

Thanks
Shadow

You explained well enough. There is no feature in this software to save a page at a time. Your best bet is to manually add a page number at the end of the filename, just before the “.html” part. Like this:

Filename-blah-blah-blah.1.html

Except there IS that feature in this version (there also was in whatever version of VBulletin that The Tree of Liberty uses... maybe it was an add on?)

I'm on my tablet, but I'll try to test it tomorrow on the desktop... I haven't had any issue with it saving individual pages of threads (complete with "page number"), including almost every page on the Martial Law and Corona virus threads. It's very handy... when doing it manually, especially if you are saving every page on a long thread *contemporaneously", it's way too easy to forget to add the correct page number...
