CHAT I'm noticing that some folks here seem to be going BEYOND the ragged edge of self-control

Meh. I'm like Lakemom... I've been through so much crap already in the last 50 years... that the worst that happens is I'll make an unplanned purchase to fill a "hole" in the preps. I'm past the point of following all the outrage crap - that is intended to provoke a reaction. I don't talk sh*t very much.

Economic collapse, gov't failure and gridlock, racial conflict (or is that political revolution???) - What day is this? Tuesday? It's early yet this week. If it ain't right outside my door, or beyond the pale (changes by day sometimes)... I've things to DO.

I give up.
Tried that with Daniel. He immediately became one with the grass and wouldn’t budge.

You usually have to start when they're kittens. I never walked my cats. I had one who used to love to follow us to the corner grocery store and back though, in the bushes along the way. Where I used to live we met the nicest cat named India whose mom used to walk her around our neighborhood. It takes a lot longer with cats than with dogs.

Just posted on the "Portland: War Zone" thread by DD:

On the way home I saw an old lady screaming at a parking meter.

So it's definitely not just us. No comfort I know, but...

That's why we all have to stay in Condition Orange all the time now. And that's very draining over time.
It was a city parking meter. Probably took her money and still gave her a ticket.

Daniel was a rescue. Two of outdoor cats, Sake will follow me (detached contact) down the driveway for a bit. Princess comes to the porch, but won’t quite be touched.

Neither here nor there.
Not all. Some are just emotionally weaker than they ideally need to be. Everyone is different. Many of us have been gaming this crap for over 20 years. Others have not, and when the cold harsh light of "IT'S HERE!!!" shines in their faces, they can't cope. It is what it is. I have to admit that I'm completely overloaded myself. I don't even read most of what I post anymore. The headline and the first paragraph look like something we need to know. Fine. I post it and walk away.

The flood of horror is just too much.

My mom started preparing my brother and I way back in the 70's she'd check out the movies from the local library about the death camps and Hitlers Germany, and she also checked out the reel to reel projector, and would make us watch them. She was absolutely insistent that we would see something similar play out in our lifetimes.

Hobbies are good. They keep you calm. ;)

The old lady was just your normal downtown crazy, Dennis. Loud, obnoxious, howling like a fruitcake, but not a threat, violent or requiring more than good situational awareness. Now the first crazy was an entirely different thang. He was male, clearly yelling to himself, obviously potentially VIOLENT. Sitting on a park bench, agitated, mumbling, yelling, getting up, sitting back down etc
It was only after he got up, started shadow boxing, that I left. My threat sense spiked when he got up, started yelling, then shadow boxing. It is THIS type of crazy I keep my eyes peeled for and evict myself from the area since it is this type of crazy that tends to get shot.

Even though we are approaching uncharted territory, this is a really good time to be alive to witness what is coming down the pike. It's all very exciting to me and am glad that I am a part of it. This year sure beats a boring news cycle. I have known for years that it has to get worse before it gets better. I am over joyed that it is upon us. I guess I am a bit strange since doom and gloom makes me happy. I can't get enough, so I don't need no stinkin' break.

Would I be weirder to admit that I'm looking forward to the real craziness that's going to be happening at the end of the year.

Watch MSM makes me crazy, cut that out and smoke a few CBD cannabis cigarettes and now looking forward, bring it.

Now I'm going to say it...

You'll a bunch of plumb crazy folks, posting for years on survivalist websites and stacking shit.

Now I'll just exit....
Okay, fess up about the anti tank gun in your basement. :shkr:

Good points.

I recall, the same anxiety but not as intense for the year before 2000.

Heh...

I've been noticing over the past couple of weeks, that multiple TBers seem to be well on their way to some kind of emotional meltdown. (You know who you are.) While I can certainly understand why this is happening (Lord knows I feel the "tug of madness" at the edges of my consciousness - heh), you've got to hang on. You'll be no good to yourselves or your loved ones if you end up sitting in a corner glassy-eyed and drooling.

Now is the time. The Fourth Turning is upon us. Revolution is in the air, and a revolution that we MUST WIN. Falling apart mentally is not a luxury any of us can afford right now. We all need to stay absolutely frosty and 100% in control. Those of you on the edge might want to unplug from the Internet for awhile and go do something else. Anything else. But not just sit here drinking from the Cup Of Doom. It's not healthy.

Hang on folks, it gets bumpy from here....

"The "tug of madness" at the edges of my consciousness," Dennis said.'
Damn. I thought I had finally found the loop I was out of... *sigh*

All the best, Young Man...

Well ya gotta admit the news is getting kinda crazy :screw:

Birders are continuing to flock to Greystones in Co Wicklow after what is believed to be the first ever sighting of a Brown Booby in Ireland.

:D
I prefer pink boobies, in pairs.

Are you sure about that?

panic early - beat the rush

might be good to do just that, get it out of your system -
rant and rave, kick a stump, go to the range, dance nekked around a bonfire, do some heavy physical work to exhaustion - get it out ,

then take a deep breath, ask God to show you what your next step is and He will put your feet exactly where they need to be.. get centered for the next wave of whatever crap coming at us because we are at war.

most of us here have known for a long time bad days were coming and have done what we could to prepare mentally physically and spiritually. still, having our lives changed can be a shock that needs adjusting to.

we can do it
