I posted a ink to a 3d printable "Shockwave" style brace a few days ago. It only fits round receiver extensions on AR15 rifles so a buddy and I drew up a new pistol brace that fits over a mil spec carbine tube.
It uses a 5/16 x 18 set screw, 1/2" to 1" long and is already threaded for one. We put "AR Pistol Brace" on the side of it in case your local police question if it is a pistol brace.
It should meet current ATF definitions for a pistol brace but I am not waisting the time to get a letter on it since I am just a hobbiest now.
If anyone wants the STL just PM me with an email address and will send it to you, no charge. Please don't put it out on thingiverse, I have not decided if I will put it out there yet. Print at 50 to 60% infill, no supports needed. They cost about $3.50 each to print yourself.
I built the pistol it is on today and spray can camo'd it. The handguard was a little shorter than I wanted but it is made from leftover parts.
