TERRORISM Provo, UT: BLM & Antifa reportedly set up armed roadblock; fire on fleeing truck - UPDATE: SUSPECT ARRESTED

A week ago Antifa people threw red paint on a statue of Brigham Young, the founder of BYU in Provo - there are students who have infiltrated classes at most colleges and universities and I guess they have some there too. But they must feel like it is their "calling".

Good warning for the complacent Church members who don't believe anything bad can happen there. And that is the majority.

A shame, as I recall it was a truly decent place and peoples. As to the "higher education system takeover" I love knowledge almost as much as life itself, but have long felt that the cure for what ails us is a Bastille moment w/ 90% of our professors & admins meeting the gov's fate. That's after the same visit is paid to 87% of our political critters, o' course.

If only I knew how to ensure the new boss was different in substance from the old, I'd dust off the pompoms and hone the blades between use.

I give up.
I don't doubt they are getting their orders to go hot. Look around the picture. I count two others behind him that are getting texts messages at the same time. We think there is one shooter but there could very well have been three activated. Feds should be able to track this terrorist activity fairly easy.

Yes, but they aren't head to toe all black with their faces covered like Antifa guy.

Blocking traffic is illegal.

How many have been arrested for that offense?

It would be easy to feel in that situation that you may be the victim of a carjacking, or other violent altercation; especially when they begin attacking your vehicle. Being surrounded also implies a disparity of force (number in the vehicle vs. the number of people attacking...)

If you are in fear of possible death or grave bodily injury, in many states you have the right to defend yourself.

You better understand how to articulate your concerns and have an Attorney on speed dial in the aftermath, however.
Not a word on the NBC nooz tonight.
I expect no news to have it on. This is the first shot. It started in Provo. It will end in DC.

I really didn't feel a need for AR pistols and binary triggers. Now I do!

Superior firepower is the key. Just remember shooting from inside a vehicle is going to be extremely loud. Another idea is train drawing from your holster in your seat with your belt on. If it’s difficult then you may want a different holster or an alley gun. We called a pistol in between the seats our alley gun because it was extremely fast to draw and shoot.
Train like you life depends on it because it just may very soon.

WTF?

Ray Charles could have seen the gun & shots in that video.

Are they intentionally letting the perps get out of town?

ETA: Why wasn't that scene locked down immediately with a flood of cops?
Damn good questions !!!

Sooner or later, they are going to pull this crap in the wrong AO. Eventually some good ol boys will determine enough is enough, and they will find a bunch of those clowns at one of their road blocks, in the morning, with their bodies well ventilated !!!

Those who know better, please correct me, but I thought this type of shit wasn't put up with in Utah?

Utah was on my short-list of State's to retire to; not so sure right now....
Saint George area is still nice...FOR NOW. Forget the Salt Lake area, Ogden, or Provo now. That's much of the bench. Cedar City is pretty nice yet. BUT, they do have higher crime in Cedar City. It is still on my short list. I have a lot of family there. I don't know where a great place is anymore.

I live in Cedar City, west of town on a couple acres. Anyone want to know what its like, ping me. Hint, the car repair guys still leave your keys in the car after they finish changing the oil.
I think the majority of the protestors are imports. There are always some idiots to found, and it's more common in the north part of the state where a lot of people have imported in lately. They especially like Park City and SLC. Cedar City is still pretty rural.

Good!

I hope they hammer him to the post.
Be nice if he turned "states evidence" and turned over a few of his buddies.

Not that I wouldn't like him to serve some time - but his life will be "do you want fries with that" henceforth no matter what. He can find out the courtesy level of the common McDonalds customer directly and decide for himself exactly how much they matter.

And a few more AntiFa in the hands of authorities will help cool their ardor.

Or push the rest over the edge - which I don't think a bad thing.

Utah use to give a choice of death for a Capital offense conviction. Your choice was hanging or firing squad. They use to take the law serious in Utah. Not that I think he will receive the death penalty but you never know if it is linked to attempted murder within a terrorist act.

SHHHH. Don't talk too much on Cedar City. It's on my short list. My sister is in Cedar City and they love it.

There is a little place called Duck Creek about 30 miles east of there. When we lived in Vegas our BOL was there. Completely off grid and a whole lot of like minded folk.

We are all friends here. I would like to have some more TB2000 people to hang with.
Um. Yeah. Sort of. Just be careful who you choose to be "up close & personal" with. There have been and probably are some who would have you undone. Not that it isn't a friendly place - I have nothing but praise for the humans I've interacted with. But Owner has indicated I must keep my distance from the fence.

And you are advised likewise.

It is a big Internet world out there. With ALL sorts of Trojan Horses. You or I may even be one.

Well, not me!

Man shoots motorist during Black Lives Matter protest in Provo Utah.

The suspect drawing his gun. Social media screengrab.

A man shot and wounded a motorist during a Black Lives Matter protest in Provo Utah. KSL. The incident occurred when a motorist who was not involved in the protest or any counter-protest tried to turn where the rally was occurring. Protesters surrounded the vehicle and started to attack it while the suspect pulled out a gun and fired a shot, hitting the 60 year old driver. The driver then attempted to flee, scattering the protesters, while the attacker fired a 2nd shot, missing the driver. The gunman then holstered his firearm and then used it again to attack another vehicle by hitting its window with the gun. The driver has been hospitalized and is in stable condition.

My Comment:
This is a major escalation from Black Lives Matter. These people were already violent and have been attacking motorists for quite some time now. But now they have stepped up to attempted murder. The driver in this case was very lucky that he wasn't killed. So far in this round of protests there hasn't been that much open violence but I guess that has changed now.

It was pretty clear that these protesters were out of control before this incident even happened. Below is another incident of a car being attacked by them. It shows people climbing on their cars and trying to get inside. The driver, very wisely, didn't stop and didn't give them a chance to do what they did to the driver that got shot.

I think that it's pretty clear that the driver in the first video didn't do anything wrong. He wasn't moving anywhere near fast enough that the shooter could claim self defense or defense of others. Indeed, the rioters attacked the driver first and the shooter had no justification in trying to stop the driver even if he ran someone down.

I can't imagine people stopping for these protests now. Why would you? If you do it's possible that you will get shot or beaten. Much better to just keep going and if people get hurt it's on them. Let's make something clear though, I'm not advocating doing what James Alex Fields did and running down protesters at high speed. That's stupid in all but the most dire situations, but I do think it's important to not stop if people are trying to get into your car.

I generally think that any protest that involves people on streets without a permit should be broken up as unlawful. The danger of people getting hit by cars is too strong even if the protesters are behaving themselves and not trying to murder innocent motorists. The chances of that happening are extremely small though as most cities have decided to let these rioters run wild.

Of course, this kind of outcome is expected when police aren't allowed to break up protests or even arrest the kind of people that are causing trouble. Eventually people are going to get killed and we seem to be getting closer and closer to that everyday.

My advice would be this. Do whatever you can to avoid areas where this kind of protest is happening. If it can't be avoided, don't stop your vehicle if at all possible. If you have to leave plenty of room between you and the next car so you at least have a chance to maneuver. If people are attacking you feel free to keep going. I'd avoid slamming the accelerator but leave as fast as you can as safely as you can, both for you and any rioters attacking you. Do whatever is necessary to keep yourself alive, but keep in mind that you might face prosecution if you kill or injure someone.

Well, I took it serious enough that I loaded two of my 20 round magazines and one of 30 round ones. 28 in the 30, 12 in one of the 20 round ones and 20 in the second one. I keep my two revolvers loaded, but neither my 20 gauge or my AR-15 loaded until now. I also just finished watching the 2012 version of Red Dawn, which may not be fantasy at this point. I liked the first one better. I remember watching the second one at the Fox theater in 2012 in downtown Portland, by myself. Not much of a market for it here in Little Beirut. India is sending armor to the Chinese border. Hell, we may be at WAR by July 4th. Lock and load.

Even money bet: His high dollar supporters will bail him out and he will disappear and never see a court room much less a jail.
Should not be hard to hold without bail on an attempted murder charge if the judge is not another sissy.

Have their been any personal details released yet?

Transporting him back to Provo?

Maybe they need time to scrub his social media?

Warn his family that there ain't no stoppin' what's about to happen?

The Dims started testing the waters by openly cheating in elections. The more they got away with the bolder they have become. Absolutely nothing was done so they pull out all of the stops.

The rioters are doing the same. They know that those in power will do nothing to stop them. Now it's a matter of seeing just how far they can go. They know they have nothing to fear from TPTB but how far can they go before 'We the People' start taking out the trash. Then force TPTB to turn on 'We the People' which of course they will. At this point it will be full game on. God help 'We the People' because we will then be fighting a two front war.
