The airport is Zone 50, not even near Zone 6, which is very near to me.

I'm just now hearing about this since I was out for a dinner celebration last night and am just catching up on the news right now. Wow, I was in the area of the city of Brookhaven, it's kind of between Zones 2 and 6. I thought there was plenty of police presence last night - now I know why!!!

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox News @ Night,” Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) said that she is concerned about the potential impacts to the safety of the city of Atlanta arising from officers not showing up to work and stated that “this is what I’ve been warning about with this defund the police movement.”

Host Shannon Bream asked, “Are you worried about reports tonight, and we’ve had pushback on this, we’re getting reports all over the place from police officials, union officials, others who are not directly tied to this, that there are a number of officers not showing up tonight. Are you worried about how that impacts their ability to protect the city of Atlanta?”

Loeffler responded, “Well, absolutely, Shannon. I mean, this is what I’ve been warning about with this defund the police movement. It’s a dangerous idea. It not only puts our communities at risk. But it puts the viability of our law enforcement community at risk. And we need to stand strong with law enforcement to help them protect our communities and not create this environment where police are looked at in a way that they aren’t creating the safety that they actually bring to our communities every day. And so, I have been warning about this, and I’ll continue to advocate to keep our law enforcement strong. But also to enact those reforms that might be needed to root out those that do wrong.”

After overpowering 2 cops and stealing a weapon. If the cops let a drunk driver go and something happens the liability falls on them. That's not what taxpayers pay for.

If the perp was willing to attack cops to get away then he would have no issue attacking YOU if he thought it would help him get away. Cops can't let someone like that escape into the general public. Again, liability involving a known violent threat.

The only person at fault is the perp.

Yep. How was he planning on escaping after he fired the taser, which he did? Hijack one of those vehicles idling there? He had the propensity for that type of violence.

I don't know the rules of engagement cops/perps when perps are armed, so I'm not calling it murder. The cops didn't know whether he had an exhausted taser or a firearm at that point. All they knew was that he did employ a taser earlier. As I understand it, one cop shot him, but he could have had the other cop's gun or one he had on him.

I'd prefer not revisit the whole, "was it a good shoot", thing again...

The common factor in all these instances right or wrong is don’t resist arrest and don’t fight the police. Other than the flawed no knock warrants targeting the wrong house all the police shootings can be avoided if the perp doesn’t decide to resist/fight. The legality and actions can be argued in court at a later date and nobody is killed.

I've often thought about that...........if I was say born Black in this country and struggled through school even if I did my best I'd be more than happy to find a place to fit into society and make a living and contribution to society in whatever way I could and be glad about it and let others know that.................but perhaps that's thinking White again.

Listen or read about White people who have lived for any length of time in Sub Saharan Africa.............I had a roommate from college a missionary kid who was born and grew up in Chad Africa..........he wasn't "racist" in any sense of the word but told me how different Africans truly are from the limitations of their vocabulary.....thoughts on community and everything else which is so foreign to Western ideology.......

Back in 1966 I worked at a country club as as caddie (yup I laugh my ass off watching caddy shack movie)..........when I was there at the time there was a very old Black man who was a pot washer in the kitchen..........."ole Willy" we called him.......had no idea how old he was but most thought in his 90s............he was as sharecroppers son and didn't know his birthday since his family was illiterate like him. You could tell the times he grew up in because it was Yes sir and No sir to every White person he talked to.......even a 12 year old like me...............everyone liked and respected Willy..............

Everyone except his own kind................he used to live at the employee housing at the club but would take a bus once in a while to the "colored section" of town to see family..........one time he did and came back with a bandaged head and a big lump........I asked him what happened and he said a guy in his old neighborhood (GTR) jumped and robbed him.............we Whites took up a collection for him.............we ended up giving him $500 ( a lot of money in 1966) to which he said I wish my people cared about us colored folks like you folks do...............for a guy with no education and couldn't read or write Willy was a class act..........of course all the 15 year old Eldridge Cleaver wanna be Blacks today would call him the ultimate uncle Tom someone who "only knew his place in society and that's it"...........but we never called him anything to or from his face but just Willy and were glad to have him around.

I remember people like that as well - we loved and respected them. I remember when there was a black nuclear family - when black women - especially the older folk - would NOT TOLERATE their men laying out of work or church or school. different time and place - it harkens back to when things like SELF RESPECT MORALITY PURPOSE AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY were the watch words of our society.

I've said this here before - I grew up in the midst of them - one of a very few white kids. we fought them and we played with them, we ate at each others house - we RESPECTED each other.

If you have doubts (or feelz) about this. Please rewatch the footage. This guy wasn’t “just running away “. His butt turned around and LOOKED for a target and THEN fired a weapon at these men. It was intended to knock the cops out of his way.

HAD HE simply run, I might look at it differently. But nope. He couldn’t just run. He had to show his “superiority against “de man”. That was pure dang stupidity.

Devin ends up taking out his Taser and yelling at him to ‘stop fighting, stop fighting,’” Don Samuel told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on Wednesday night. “Mr. Brooks grabbed the Taser from him and shoots … Devin gets shot with the Taser.”

The lawyer added: “He then falls over and lands on his head on the pavement and gets a concussion.”

Samuel, who called Brosnan’s actions “exemplary,” claimed prosecutors didn’t bother looking at the officer’s medical records.
