I have not looked at the map of the anti fa six block occupied coffee district. I am a bit curious how close it is to the commercial Port of Seattle.

Nice shade of lipstick in the pic above. Looks like her baby sister help put it on.

Also the breakdown of commercial vs residential in the "zone"....

The comments are scary as hell.

I used to think that as well, now not so! Why you ask because all I have heard is they want us dead, they want us dead, they want us and our way of life DEAD. I have heard you say it a hundred times. I have heard it 100 times from others. Now they post it online they want us dead. We comply or die. They are going to get rid of us. I watch as politicians, police officers, military men and woman and people of all color bow down and take to their knees in support, some prostrate on their bellies begging for forgiveness for sins committed by them. I watch as people burned buildings, destroyed lives over and over again by the destruction, mayhem and murder over a thug who had the chance to set it straight by giving the store a pack of cigarettes he bought with a counterfeit 20 dollar bill, but he had to be a ****ing dick about it. That is all they wanted was the pack of smokes and you can go. But no...

I watch as these same politicians who have sent millions of men and woman over seas in the name of freedom to be killed, maimed, and forever scarred mentally at times rip them off, deny them help, deny them pay, deny them life except to a street without the means to help themselves. Bow down to those son of a bitches who would never do anything to better themselves, or their people except to kill, maim, rape and torture. But yet deny those who they sent to do their deeds, for the same type of people. This world is a screwed up place right now.

Seattle's Capitol Hill Neighborhood
Written by
NATHAN WILLIAMS
Updated 10/10/19

Capitol Hill is the epitome of 21st century Seattle: young, high-tech and culturally adventurous. It's the epicenter of coffee culture, home to clubs that spawned the grunge movement, and the site of some of Seattle's biggest events, like Block Party and the Pride Parade. While it's simply home to many, it's also one of the hottest nightlife neighborhoods and has a long list of things to do, from visiting beautiful Volunteer Park to going to the Seattle Asian Art Museum, to dining or hanging out at a microbrewery.

Capitol Hill blends into stodgier, older and hospital-dominated First Hill to the south, with Madison the approximate southern boundary. To the west Interstate 5 provides a barrier between the Hill and downtown. In the north, Highway 520 marks a distinct boundary. To the east, you could make a case for 19th or 23rd/24th being the formal border.

Capitol Hill has a common ambiance and self-identity, but it is really closer to three distinct neighborhoods:

Upper Broadway: This end of the neighborhood has some of Seattle's oldest and most expensive mansions, and is increasingly dominated by large, multi-story condo buildings with street-level retail.

The Pike/Pine Corridor: The Pike/Pine area is an edgier, more raucous complement to its northern neighbor. Seattle University and SCCC fill the area with students.

15th: Farther up the Hill from Broadway is 15th, a slower-paced but still hip area, with an older demographic. The area is home to the sprawling Group Health medical complex.

Demographics
Capitol Hill has about 30,000 residents of the total population. Over half of residents have a bachelor's degree or higher. The vast majority of residents were born out of state. The neighborhood remains a desirable place to live and is cheaper than neighborhoods closer into downtown, but not the cheapest place to live by far. Rents tend to be higher than in nearby First Hill or Central District, but lower than downtown, South Lake Union or Belltown.

Food and Restaurants
Capitol Hill has some of the most diverse dining options in the city, covering not only a wide variety of styles but also prices. You probably won't be disappointed ducking into any restaurant catches your eye, but some excellent choices include:

  • Smith (15th) - "Rustic Pub Fare" - 332 15th Ave E
  • Dick's Drive-In (Broadway) - "A Seattle hamburger institution" - 115 Broadway E
  • Annapurna (Broadway) - "Taste of Nepal, India, and Tibet" - 1833 Broadway E
  • Café Presse (Pike/Pine) - "French bistro" - 117 12th Ave E

Nightlife
The action is on the south end of the neighborhood, though upper Broadway boasts a few gems. There's a full range of nightlife in Capitol Hill, from Elysian Brewing Company to nightclubs.

  • Oddfellows - (Pike/Pine) - Hipster epicenter - 1525 10th Ave E
  • Century Ballroom -(Pike/Pine) - Salsa and swing dance hall - 915 E Pine St.
  • Canterbury - (15th) - A dive bar for nerds - 534 15th Ave E
  • Sun Liquor - (Broadway) - The pinnacle of cool - 607 Summit Ave E
  • Wild Rose - (Pike/Pine) - The definitive lesbian bar - 1021 E Pine St.
  • The Cuff Complex - (Pike/Pine) - "For lovers of leather, Levis, and uniforms." - 1533 13th Ave E

Coffee
Every Seattle neighborhood has a few coffeehouses its residents would defend to the death. Capitol Hill is no exception, but it does indeed have some excellent coffee options.

Shopping
You won't find high-end malls or even strip malls in the neighborhood, but Broadway is still a major shopping destination and will not disappoint. You'll find quirky indie stores and unique small businesses embodying the spirit of the area. Arguably, the city's best bookstore, Elliott Bay Book Company, is here. So is one of Seattle's (and Western Washington's) best art stores, Blick. You'll also find favorites like Everyday Music, a great used record store, Retail Therapy, and Value Village if you're in the market for clothes, or even the Hill's own adult toy superstore - Castle.

Foggy morning in Volunteer Park, Seattle, Washington, USA

Kevin Schafer/Getty Images Parks
Seattlites love the outdoors, and Hill denizens are no exception.

  • Cal Anderson Park - The heart and soul of the Hill, Forbes called this one of America's best parks. Located between Broadway and 12th and adjoining the incoming Light Rail station, the recently renovated Cal Anderson is a marvel.
  • Volunteer Park - Volunteer Park is the crown jewel of Seattle's park system and, as such, belongs more to the city as a whole than to the Hill. It is a sprawling, intermittently wooded park with multiple attractions.
  • Small parks - The Hill is dotted with numerous small parks that take up less than a block, sometimes featuring a small jungle gym, sometimes little more than a couple benches. These parks help break up the urban monotony and offer a place to sit and read on a nice day.
  • P-Patches - P-Patches are small neighborhood vegetable gardens, entirely maintained by residents. Sign up for garden space at the kiosk in each P-Patch.

Arts
Capitol Hill has none of the city's major arts institutions, but it is still a force to be reckoned with on Seattle's arts scene with venues like NWFF, Annex Theatre, and Neumos. Also, don't miss readings and signings at Elliott Bay Book Company.

Public Transportation
Capitol Hill is served by numerous bus lines. A streetcar line runs in nearby First Hill and there's a light rail stop in the neighborhood, too, at 140 Broadway. The light rail is an increasingly good way to get around town or to the airport as stops are expanding.

Library
Capitol Hill's only branch library is located at 425 Harvard Ave E.

Be sure to check out Lower Queen Ann as well.

Seattle City Council Member Helps Protesters Take over City Hall

A large group of Black Lives Matter protesters made their way to, and inside Seattle’s City Hall on Tuesday night. Led by none other than a city council member, according to a report.

Kshama Sawant, a sitting member of the Seattle City Council, could be seen in pictures and videos which showed hundreds of protesters filing into city hall after Sawant allegedly let them in. Once inside, the Protesters began chanting “Durkan must go,” a reference to Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan whom the protesters believe allowed the police to use aggressive tactics against demonstrators, such as tear gas and other crowd dispersal techniques.

61 people are talking about this

As Breitbart’s Penny Starr reported on Tuesday: “Protesters who are part of a wave of unrest across the country in the wake of the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police on Monday took over city blocks in Seattle, set up barricades, and some have implied on social media that they will use armed guards to secure their occupation.

“The people hunkered down in Seattle have dubbed it Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone with a tag line to ‘free Capitol Hill,’ according to Twitter posts and a Capitol Hill Seattle Blog website, which detailed the development.”

Durkan was specifically targeted in a lawsuit filed earlier on Tuesday, by those seeking to punish city officials for what they believe have been aggressive police tactics. Last week, several leftist leaders in Seattle called for Durkan’s resignation after she declined to guarantee that the police would not use tear gas.

This sounds more and more like the very first story arc of Transmetropolitan, "Back on the street", where a bunch of "Transients" (people who have spliced their DNA with that of actual extraterrestrials) have carved out a section of a city and declared it an autonomous nation.

Are you sure about that?
Problem is they have all ready spread from Mexican California coast to Canada they cannot spread more except east. And are slowly but surely.

I was referring to insurgent communists taking over cities, as a specific means of taking territory. Sort of like island hopping.

YA KNOW?

If these dipshits are declaring their little cesspool to be, "not part of America"...then they shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Just sayin'.

goes way beyond that. If they are not part of the US how about we defund all of their creature comforts. Water, electricity, WiFi, cell service, modern medical, military, monetary system, travel, etc.

The assets that left behind in the US are seized/frozen pending a court case that puts that into a beneficiary account to pay the repairs on what their movement destroyed since hazard doesn’t pay for it.

Then we add onto their wall with one of our own. You don’t leave that area without a passport recognized by the US. Crossing the border illegally means capture and punishment for their crimes.

if foreign insurgents take this new country and those idiots beg for help we say eat crap and die. You made your choice to leave the US. When foreign insurgents overwhelm the idiots and take over, then we bomb the hell out of it and retake the seceded land.

Assuming there are any of the idiots left, they are put to hard labor cleaning and rebuilding the restored land. Because as we have all witnessed, if you don’t build/own something you don’t take care of it.

Antifa Seizes Seattle PD, Sets Up 'Autonomous Zone' Just Like ISIS and the Paris Commune
Tyler O'Neil

7-8 minutes

Just as the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed territory in Iraq and Syria, antifa militants have claimed territory in Seattle, Wash. According to reports on the ground from The Post Millennial’s Andy Ngo and Townhall’s Julio Rosas, protesters and antifa instigators have seized land in the Capitol Hill area around the Seattle Police East Precinct. Like ISIS, the rioters appear to have decided on setting up a government in their occupied territory, naming it “Free Capitol Hill.”

“Seattle [Mayor Jenny Durkan] is allowing a dangerous situation to fester. [Antifa] militants have taken over & created an ‘autonomous zone’ in city w/their own rules. Police precinct abandoned. Antifa set up barricades to create a border. Calling for volunteers to provide armed guard,” Ngo tweeted.

His message included tweets from rioters and pictures of the “Free Capitol Hill” poster on the side of a barricade, along with a map of the area antifa had taken over.

“The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. Folks in Seattle have secured six block of city [at the moment], barricaded it, and gotten local businesses and residents to agree to, well, disaffiliate from Seattle basically. It’s a flux state in the making,” Alex Humva tweeted.
“Speaker at the autonomous zones advocating folks with firearms take shifts defend the barricades. Sh*t is getting organized,” another inside the barricades tweeted.

The map Ngo tweeted claims to represent Seattle on the night of June 8. Antifa rioters claim to have taken over the “Capital Hill Free Zone (Protester Occupied Seattle)” in yellow. The zone includes the “Captured Regime East Precinct (Abandoned Police Station with doors left unlocked lol),” along with areas marked “Commune Food Stations,” “CHFZ Commune Barricades,” “Relaxation & Dining Field (food regularly handed out + coffee bar),” and a “Stoa (Informal Congregational Area).”

The map also denotes a “Regime encampment off Broadway” a “Regime Occupied Safeway (Police holed up here).”

The antifa rioters appear intent on creating an automonous state, not unlike the ISIS-run territories in the Middle East or the surrounded proto-communist experiment of the Paris Commune in 1871. (The Paris Commune was a key moment in the history of socialism and communism. It lasted between March and May 1871, after the Prussians had defeated the French in the Franco-Prussian War and were besieging Paris. Karl Marx called it an example of the “dictatorship of the proletariat.”)

The rioters’ use of the Greek term “Stoa” appears to hearken back to classical Greece while their reference to police as the “regime” sets them in contrast with a supposedly oppressive government force. The map has an undeniably bohemian theme, promising a “coffee bar” in this militant alt-Seattle.

antifa rioters take over Seattle

Twitter screenshot.
Julio Rosas also reported from the scene. “I’m outside of the Seattle Police Department’s East Precinct for [Townhall]. Police have pulled out of the area and protesters have set up barricades in the streets. They have declared it a ‘Cop Free Zone,'” he tweeted.

Rosas also shared posters with demands from the rioters. “Some of the signs posted around the area. One calls for the defunding of the Seattle PD and the dropping of all charges against protesters,” he tweeted. “Another says, ‘The cops will always be racist because capitalism requires inequality.'”

Meanwhile, antifa groups have celebrated the “autonomous zone.”

Ngo compared the situation to Portland in 2018 when Mayor Ted Wheeler allowed a similar antifa “zone” to exist inside that city for five weeks. “Not only did it become a biohazard site w/intravenous drug abuse, the local businesses & residents were terrorized. Tax payers had to pay for the extensive cleanup.”

Neither Mayor Durkan nor the Seattle Police Department have yet addressed the emergence of “Free Capitol Hill.”

“In an effort to proactively de-escalate interactions between protestors and law enforcement outside the East Precinct, Chief Best and [Seattle Police] officers have removed barricades surrounding the East Precinct while safely securing the facility,” Durkan reported last night. “In addition, [the Seattle Fire Department] has several vehicles stationed near the Precinct to ensure emerging medical needs and fires are addressed if necessary. Keeping this area safe is critical, as there are approximately 500 residential homes in this block.”

If keeping that area safe is “critical,” then Durkan has arguably experienced a “critical” failure.

Naturally, the mayor made tremendous concessions to the rioters even while claiming she would keep the area safe.

“As the Chief takes this operational step, we will continue to remain focused on what we can and must do to address the systemic inequities that continue to disproportionately impact our Black residents,” she tweeted. “Yesterday, we announced a commitment to invest $100 million dollars into community – in addition to existing city programs — and to work with community to create a Black Commission that will help to amplify black voices in City Hall.”

She concluded her Twitter thread by expressing hope that “tonight, with these operational changes, our city can peacefully move forward together.”

Yet it appears the city cannot move forward together — the rioters are declaring independence from the city itself. No concessions will be enough for these instigators, who consider the police an occupying “regime” force and demand the end of the very capitalistic system that enables them to enjoy goods and services like a coffee bar. (As Bernie Sanders might say, “Why do you need more than one type of coffee?”)

Antifa is now running an insurrectionary state inside Seattle itself. This revolt is cause for State Police and arguably the National Guard to restore order to an American city. President George H.W. Bush used the Insurrection Act to quell the 1992 Los Angeles riots, and this antifa “free state” is arguably cause for Trump to do the same here and now. But don’t you dare say that within earshot of The New York Times.
Time for a rat killing...blockade the area and do not let supplies in, cut off water and electricity

Their new list of demands:

Oh ho ho. Contraband into a "foreign country"? Oh no no, my boyos, we'll be confiscating that for customs inspections. It might take several weeks to set up a Customs office, though.

Used to be government had to subsidize something to get more of it. Now they only need to tolerate it.

Of course, now the government has lost more than just legitimacy - it has surrendered power as well.
What do you think the $1200 per person and the $600 per week in Unemployment was? A subsidy.

if this isnt dealt with quickly with a fiorm hand to arrest and make these people actually face charges, it will happen in kneeling democrat cities all over.
i like searchers idea

kill power, no food goes in or out, no comms. announce a warning as in surrender in 48 hours or we will come in and arrest you. knowing they WANT a violent reaction, they WANT to have people suffer and die to be heros for their false cause. let them get hungry, cold and dirty, no starbucks for you! allow people to surrender peacfully if they wish, let them get hungry and thristy then send in the grownups to end it.

the mayor is an idiot to allow this---

you know its like dealing with bratty spoiled kids who rudely defy the parent and refuses to do their homework, brush their teeth or do their chores and then sneak out and cause trouble.

if someone doesnt put their foot down and hold them accountable for their acts it will never stop.

Actually give them some time. Some one has to pay for the food, power etc. When they fail to do so, cut them off. Then watch the fun happen.

I am glad I don't live there. I would be fighting to keep control of my property.

"Revolutionary justice will be determined by those who are oppressed."

Not the biggest stick in the neighborhood? (Rule of Might) And favoring the "connected?" (Government of "pull.")

And not against those whose dead parents voted for Reagan? (Inherited Political Sin.)

And one's degree of oppression will be proportional to one's "social score?"

"Um. Mr. Dobbin, you eat way too many sweets and this will affect your hooves and detract from your serviceability and increase your maintenance cost as chattel, which is where the Revolutionary Committee has deemed you most valuable to the Revolution. This will subtract from your "social benefit." How's your social credit score?

You know, I can't wait until one of the "non-woke neighbors" actually bring Federal lawsuit against the AntiFa for whatever insult or aggrievement the AntiFa bring to them with their "nation-building."

Wonder how long it is till they're going door to door asking for 'Donations' for food and necessary supplies?

How long till they require it?

Demand it?

Have they ejected anyone from their homes, yet? Just curious.
