New Members Check-In Thread...

As part of our enhanced board security procedures, we are now requiring all new members to check in and let us know you are here by posting to this or any other thread within 1 week of registration.

Every Friday evening, we will purge all members who have been registered for more than 1 week but have never posted.

Since we no longer allow non-posting members, this "check-in" post may serve as your one and only post if you simply want to be a registered "lurker".

But don't be just a lurker!

Everyone has something to contribute!

BEFORE you post your first post, please read the Rules for Posting that are at the top of just about every page on this board.

By posting your first post in here or on any other thread, you signify that you HAVE read the Rules for Posting.

Thanks, and welcome to Timebomb2000!

Kris

Edit to add:

I just want to caution everyone that we have a lot of new members, many of which are long-time lurkers who have been around as long or longer than many of us. They are just as much a part of this board and their posts, now that they have "de-cloaked" so to speak, are just as valuable as any of us oldtimers' posts.

That being said...

The flip side of that coin is that the only way we "know" people is by their posting history...

Regardless of how long you have been lurking and how much you feel like you know all of us and wish to now contribute (and we DO welcome such contributions), please keep in mind that we don't "know" you...yet.

And please bear with us until we DO get to know you a little better.

As many of you know, we have recently come through a difficult time on the board. We HAVE had some "hit-and-run" troublemakers and trolls who just love to toss out some heated or controversial tidbit and watch the fur fly.

Keep in mind that WE (the mods and admins and the other members) cannot easily tell the difference between a recently de-cloaked, long-time, sincere lurker turned poster and a "hit and run" troll looking to stir up trouble.

Please bear that in mind if some of us appear rather sensitive to certain posts in this time of tremendous sensitivity and uncertainty and potential dis-information.

I hope you new members with relatively few posts under your belt can understand that the rest of us cannot readily assume ANYTHING about any poster with relatively few posts.

Like it or not, in this medium, you earn your stripes via your posts...so please DO post and let us get to know you through your contributions but PLEASE do not take offense if we question, ask for further clarification, evidence, links, etc.

I hope this came out like I intended it...

Kris

Thank you.

That sounds extremely reasonable, to me.

I will endeavor to color within the lines.

Have no significant need, at my age (73), to rabble rouse etc.

Just being me is usually plenty challenging.

I'm hopeful for a 'family' hope where genuine dialogue and mutual understanding are the norm.

I have an easy time loving virtually all even remotely decent fellow humans. I do not consider that to include HRC or O'B.

I much prefer someone to speak frankly with me--particularly if I've offended anyone. I prefer to live at peace with all individuals (except for HRC, O'B, George Soros & those deliberately destructive to the USA and foundational values. I don't think peace with such creatures is truly possible. They just take all aspects of peace and use them for more destruction.

I live in the Southwest.

Pentecostal background and still most of such values.

Single/divorced (about 1981 after 9 years of marriage).

A very platonic housemate--currently visiting her seriously autistic grandson in California. He has to have dental surgery in the hospital. He's about 4 years old. Very bright but non-verbal. We both hate what autism does to people & families.

Retired

PhD Clinical Psych

Significant hobbies: pottery, fresh water aquariums, gardening, writing, photographer, wood worker, landscaper, reading, Chinese chess--the half game (Peng-Hu rules), UFO's--studied since 1962; globalism--studied since 1965 when I managed the Alderdice Collection willed to the Univ libary. I was acting Director of the library's Special Collections Dept. . . .

Really like:
1. WEBSHOTS.COM's nature etc. screen saver pics.
2. Green Aqua videos of great planted aquariums.

3. Seeing people grow, gain more health & joy.
4. Seeing God work overtly & miraculously.

5. President Trump rescuing the USA from the Marxist globalist shove down the greased chute to hell.
6. Colorado mountains

7. DNA studies (mine--parts from Scandanavia, British Isles, Spain, Italy, Balkins, Germany, Middle East, Afghanistan, Iran, & India. Maybe bits from Tibet.

8. Problem solving
9. Border collies, Lassie type Collies etc. but dogless these years as didn't want to make enough time to give them due attention.

10. Travel but not any long the part & hassle of getting there. Would prefer a 'beam me there' tech. LOL.
11. Love mountains.

I tend to be very compassionate and caring.

Yet, I can be extremely fierce about some ideas. I try to avoid making the fierceness personal.

It's usually easy for me to find something about almost anyone, to love and enjoy.

Lived in San Diego about 10 years, Spokane about 10 years, China 2 years & Taipei 16 years, & am on the last acre of 175 acres my mother & step-dad bought in the high Southwestern desert in 1952. Rode the same bus K-12 from what was very rural then. Small town area.

Was a Navy Radioman in Taipei, initially.
Then on a 10 member staff at a Human Relations Navy project called CREDO in San Diego.

Have a pacemaker.
Take a fair amount of turmeric, D3, C-60, coconut oil, black seed oil, ashwagandha, cinnamon, etc.
Take the ginger, lemon juice, garilc, apple cider organic vinegar + honey concoction for blood vessel & other health.

Love Pookie's Toons.
Have a sub forum at GOPBRIEFINGROOM.COM but folks tend to read only & not dialogue. I love dialogue.

That's probably enough about me. LOL.

Glad to be here. Thanks to the owner/founder & staff.

welcome!! Sorry it took so long!

THANKS BIG for your kind reply.

Looks like a great place. Have tried 15-20 min to find the rules & regs to no avail. Clicking the bottom button only shows a list of forums, as far as I can tell. Can you give me a link to the rules page, please? Much easier to color within the lines when I know where the lines are! LOL.

Glad to be here.

Need to choose an Avatar pic.

Yes I know. Our "rules page" is a victim of a server setting being incorrect someplace. Eventually it'll be fixed. No worries.

There's only one "Prime Directive" here: don't be a dick. Also, direct threats against the government or elected officials are not allowed. Outside of that, pretty much anything goes.

Ha. Finally found the check-in page - have to admit I didn't look all that much.

Thanks for bringing me aboard.

Wife and I live in the southern Missouri Ozarks on a small place out in the middle of nowhere, thankfully the way things are going. We were both raised in Montana before the oil patch took us around the world a time or few and never have gotten to go back to where home was for us. But home is here now as she put her foot down about moving back when it was time to think about where we were going to be for our last tour.

After being transferred around all over the place, the kids really didn't get to spend near as much time with their grandparents as what all of us wanted. So we settled down where we're about equidistant (and not too far) from the various sets of grandkids. It's sure awesome to have them come out and join in the homestead happenings. Like it's said, if we'd known grandchildren were so much fun, we'd have had them first!

God is good.
