Anybody else feel me here or am I just overwrought? Thought so. \rant off

Thing is, as I see it...none of the professionals really know WTH is going on yet. Increasingly, NOBODY that is a responsible authority/researcher believes China, and until WHO or CDC or somebody with some credibility is allowed to follow and document a few hundred of these cases from infection to resolution, nobody is really going to have a clue WTH is going on.

Is there anyone left on this forum who may be still doubting that this pandemic is going full TEWOMFGTAWKTI or whatever?
I am not quite there, at this point put me in the worse than TPTB are saying and will be economically painful, we will get to learn about the how disruptions affect complex interdependent systems.

My unknown is how large medical issue will happen in US and how the societal pressures will impact the frayed connections we have thanks to Progressives constant attacks against the foundational institutions as a means of gaining power and the removal of US as a barrier to one global power.

China disinfects BANK NOTES and quarantines them for 14 days as Beijing announces 143 new coronavirus deaths and 2,641 additional cases while death toll hits 1,527

  • Chinese banks use ultraviolet light then seal and store the cash for up to 14 days
  • The banks have been urged to provide new banknotes to customers if possible
  • Central bank made an emergency issuance of four billion yuan in new notes
China has today started disinfecting and isolating used banknotes in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) that has killed 1,527 people.

Banks use ultraviolet light or high temperatures to disinfect yuan bills, then they seal and store the cash for seven to 14 days - depending on the severity of the outbreak in a particular region - before recirculating them.

The virus, which has infected 66,492 people in China and spread to more than two dozen other countries, has sparked a rush to disinfect public places and minimise contact between people.

Pharmacies across the country sold out of disinfectants and surgical masks in just days after a lockdown was announced in late January on Wuhan city, where the Covid-19 illness is believed to have emerged.

Office buildings have installed packets of tissue in elevators that tenants are encouraged to use when pressing buttons, while ride-hailing company Didi exhorts drivers to disinfect their cars daily.

Fan Yifei, deputy governor of China's central bank, today said that banks have been urged to provide new banknotes to customers whenever possible.

The virus, which has now killed 1,523 people and infected 66,492 people in China, has spread to more than two dozen other countries since the outbreak in January. Pictured are workers disinfecting an area in Beijing

The central bank made an 'emergency issuance' of four billion yuan in new notes to Hubei province, the epicentre of the outbreak, prior to the recent Lunar New Year holiday, Fan added.

The measures are intended to 'secure the public's safety and health when using cash', Fan said.

But it is unclear how wide an impact the central bank's disinfection work will have, with increasing numbers of Chinese people preferring mobile payments over cash in recent years.

In 2017, nearly three quarters of Chinese respondents told an Ipsos survey they could survive a whole month without using more than 100 yuan in cash.

According to the World Health Organization, Covid-19 can be spread through contaminated objects in addition to droplets and direct contact with infected patients.

Thomas Labs, via one of their sites: Fish Antibiotics - Free Shipping on NON-Prescription Fish Antibiotics
I also have used AllDayChemist and ValleyVet (I have a LOT of fish, and chickens...).

I would also suggest getting both of the books that Dr. Alton and his wife have on their site: Disaster Preparedness Survival First Aid Kits | Natural Disaster Preparedness | Survival Preparedness Supplies
Book1: Altons Antibiotics and Infectious Disease: The Layman's Guide To Available Antibacterials in Austere Settings
Book2: The Survival Medicine Handbook Third Edition: The Essential Guide for When Help is NOT on the Way

I would also suggest getting a copy (or downloading):

(Trying to find links now, this might take a few...)

Loup
Thanks Loup. I just received some amoxicillin from the link for Thomas Labs meds. Ordered Thursday and it arrived today, 2 days later. Shelf life is 2 years from manufacture and this has a 1/22 expiration date as they advertised. It will give us a chance to fight pneumonia, bronchitis, etc. if basic antibiotics are not available from the pharmacy. I hope that medical diagnosis will still be available even if they don't have supply to fill prescriptions.

Another report coming from the Epoch Times indicates the numbers of deaths in Wuhan from the coronavirus are way low. President Xi’s actions were too late and as a result the political and economic repercussions are devastating:

Through the eyes of a reporter who has worked in over 30 epidemic zones, including SARS in China and Ebola in West Africa, just how big a threat is the current coronavirus outbreak?

How can coronavirus be transmitted? How virulent is it, and how does it compare with SARS and MERS, and the 1918 influenza pandemic?

How has the Chinese Communist Party cover-up of information contributed to the spread of coronavirus in Wuhan and beyond? And, what are the best precautions to avoid infection?

This is American Thought Leaders , and I’m Jan Jekielek. In this episode, we'll sit down with Pulitzer Prize-winning science writer Laurie Garrett, an expert on epidemics and currently, a columnist for Foreign Policy.

She breaks down the current COVID-19 outbreak, preventative measures, and why she will be looking closely at Singapore and Hong Kong in the coming weeks to determine if this will develop into a global pandemic.

It's a long and very informative interview.

Yes, for sure. For the past 2 weeks I have emptied, cleaned out and reorganized every pantry, closet, cabinet, drawer and storage space in the house. I got rid of lots of stuff I don’t use or need and filled in what was missing. It’s a good feeling to know what you have and where it is.
Gee, and Doomer Doug thought he was the only one who went to Target and bought 12 huge plastic containers with lids. Glad to see I ain't the only one doing stuff like this. :usfl:

PARIS >> France’s health minister today announced the first coronavirus death in Europe, an 80-year-old Chinese tourist who other French authorities say was initially turned away from two French hospitals when he first fell ill.

Minister Agnes Buzyn said she was informed Friday night of the death of the patient, who had been in intensive care at Bichat Hospital in Paris after testing positive in late January.

His daughter also tested positive for the virus that has spread across central China and was hospitalized. However, the health minister said she was doing well and should be leaving Bichat shortly. The hospital is among a handful in France with special isolation rooms.

As of Saturday, four of the 11 confirmed virus cases in France have been “cured” and left the hospital, the latest a French physician on Friday, she said. Six others still remain hospitalized.

The deceased patient, a Chinese tourist from the province of Hubei, had a serious lung infection caused by the COVID-19 virus.

There were contradictory reports about the timing of the man’s illness. Buzyn said he arrived in France on Jan. 16 and was hospitalized on Jan. 25 under strict isolation measures but his condition deteriorated rapidly.

Other French medical officials said earlier that the man had arrived in France on Jan. 23 and quickly fell ill.

Dr. Yazdan Yazdanpanah, head of Bichat’s infectious diseases unit, said the man had visited two French hospitals but because he “didn’t fulfill the definition” of someone at risk of having the virus, the hospitals decided it was unnecessary to test him. The man did not live in Wuhan, the central Chinese city hardest-hit by the virus, but was from Hubei province that includes Wuhan.

He later tested positive and was admitted to Bichat on Jan. 29, Yazdanpanah said.

Nine European countries collectively have 46 cases of the virus that first emerged in central China in December, with Germany having the most at 16.

The virus has infected more than 67,000 people globally and has killed at least 1,526 patients, the vast majority in China. The World Health Organization has called the virus a threat to global health.

Chinese authorities have placed some 60 million people under a strict lockdown, built emergency hospitals and instituted controls across the country to fight the spread of the virus. Restaurants, cinemas and other businesses have been closed nationwide and sports and cultural events have been canceled to prevent crowds from gathering.

In Munich on Saturday, chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told a gathering of the world’s top defense officials and diplomats that his country was “determined to fight and win this battle” against the virus, and suggested that its efforts were paying off.

“Dawn is breaking and we are seeing light coming through,” Wang said through a translator.

He said the epidemic has presented a “severe challenge” to China’s economy growth but said it was well positioned to rebound.

“The fundamentals sustaining strong economic growth have not changed, and will not change,” he said. “After the storm comes the rainbow, and we are confident that China will emerge stronger from the epidemic.”

Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said all Italians who sought repatriation from Wuhan due to the coronavirus have returned to Italy. The last was 17-year-old student who arrived on a military flight early Saturday after being twice refused passage due to a fever. The teen has tested negative for coronavirus, and will now spend two weeks in quarantine at a military facility near Rome.

I'm a damn yankee, I just lived there for a couple decades. :)
Not to worry. Southerners may call everyone from the North, yankees, and not necessarily in a flattering way, but up here in Northern New England, to be called an old yankee is a compliment. They represent the best of our traditional Puritan work ethic, frugality and ingenuity. Being a yankee is a good thing. Wear it with pride.

So how many dead doctors is that process going to take? They don't grow on trees. I foresee a doctor shortage just as bad as an empty shelf in the store shortage. My main gripe with this is if it was engineered, it would be quicker and safer for the lab to let somebody know so we don't have to play at hunting answers in a long process. That they haven't tells me that they care not a whit for life and how precious it is. That makes them worse than monsters in my eyes.

There is a video on the Earth Changes thread that says that Soros and Gates wargamed this thing out and even had the date of 2020 when the fun would start. They made a game out of it. To reduce the population. Seriously. These people are mad. Completely power mad insane.

China announces it is on the money. They are sanitizing the money and quarantining it for 14 days. So money and mail are risky.

I think all of us (most of us especially interested in Biblical prophecy and one world currency/government) have wondered how, why, and when actual currency would become obsolete. I certainly believe that a pandemic which has the ability to remain on surfaces for up to 9 days would quickly turn paper and coin money into a relic of the past.

To my mind, shortages of pharmaceuticals in hospitals in this country because they're made in China may end up being one of the largest impacts of the virus here, and possibly higher causes of death in this country than from the virus directly.

I think o2 concentrators need regular calibration. Not sure the details but a service tech would check it every month. Took 2 minutes from start to finish.

My husband was on O2 for 3 years before he died. We owned our own before his need was higher than the 4L than the ones we owned. By then he was on disability and used an O2 service. We used the medical service for over a year and not once did it have to be calibrated.

I got a box from All Day Chemist today. It is from India, but aha! goes through Singapore. I gloved, took out box, put it on trunk of husband's car, used the handle of a plastic spoon to cut the tape, dumped the contents out, bagged gloves, box and spoon for the trash.

So. Mail lady contaminated mailbox handle (and all the mail she touched after that box, if we're going to play hard), which I touched barehanded. Inside of mailbox and any mail going into it is contaminated. Luckily we don't get much real mail.

I'm so glad we have this time to practice and find holes in our thinking, practices, defenses.

Gang, it took a while, but Africa is now in play, disease wise. You might of missed it, with only 338 pages to wander through:ld:, but back on page 330, post 13,178 I told you all that the first CONFIRMED case in Africa was in Egypt, Cairo if I am not mistaken, so the report of the CONFIRMED CASE IN SOUTH AFRICA, IE SWAZILAND, IS REALLY THE 2ND CASE OF CONFIRMED VIRUS IN AFRICA.

KABOOM. KABOOM, KABOOM.

We all said that it was strange to not have any confirmed cases in Africa, South America etc, and the general consensus was to just wait, go count all our piles of ammo, and chill out till Africa started exploding in virus cases. And guess what, we now have TWO separate, confirmed virus cases, with each one of them in a separate part of Africa, like Egypt in the far north, and South Africa/Swaziland in the south of Africa.

In the 72 hours or so around Valentine's Day we have seen MULTIPLE cases of CONFIRMED, no bs like the Deleware report, in Africa, in Hawaii, in London etc. Face it, the powers that be know it is global pandemic time and are doing the how much info do I release to warn people, but without having them urinate in their pants.

I nailed it for this weekend and despite some smirking here, uber doomer, Doomer Doug has doomed on spot on. :eleph:

Yep that is correct my fellow doomers. This Valentine's Day saw CONFIRMATION of infected people in London, Africa, Hawaii and who knows where else we DON'T KNOW ABOUT YET. It is game over. Global Pandemic in motion. PREPARE. PREPARE. PREPARE.:sheep:

Saved, to glorify God.
I wonder if it would affect the disease transmission rate if our FASHION styles returned to the EARLIER style of people (men and women) not being considered “properly dressed” if they were not wearing cotton gloves when they were out in public?

But considering how casually dressed 99% of the public worldwide has become, that would sure look funny! White gloves with jeans or sweatpants and t-shirt?

We think we are much more “sanitary” than our grandparents, but I question that. They used to wash dishes, bedclothes, underwear, towels, linen, hankies and cloth napkins, in almost boiling water in the sink or in wringer washers, dried them in the sun, or by hand, THEN they ironed “linens” fabrics with a hot iron, and RINSED disshes with a teakettle full of boiling water poured over the dishes and silverware in the draining rack. THAT’S how my mom taught us to wash dishes, and insisted we do it when I was a teen. ( NO, I did not keep doing that after I left home and grew up.)

We also used to spend a weekend periodically with hot soapy water, “washing the woodwork” the stairs, railings, windowsills, woodwork at the base of the walls, cabinets, porches, doors, etc. Who does that now? KIDS did the majority of that work “because we were closer to the baseboards”.

This is the kind of thing I'm watching for. Right now, I'm not worried about outside of China because most cases (especially here in the US) are those returning from China and are in quarantine. I've been watching for activation within the general population who hasn't been to China or connected to family from China.
We wouldn't know if that is happening yet. Until yesterday's announcement, they were only testing those who had a Chinese connection. If it is out running wild, it hasn't been tested yet. Now they will test any case that presents with the known symptoms.

Is it possible the Chinese would quarantine 100 banknotes and then print 1000? People would expect to see a lot more new notes in circulation. And there are so many out of work due to the quarantines.

I'm just wondering about the possibilities down the road.

You’re right most likely but I ***still*** have yet to hear a single, solitary person talk about this or even act like “it’s a thing”!!
Just today at work (Veterinary office) I finally told my boss...” you need to start ordering extra antibiotics because shortages will happen from this Coronavirus, specifically Doxycycline and most everything else we use every day”...
I repeated this, again, because I thought he didn’t hear me. He literally paused for a second, then just walked away.

I’m still a little shocked.

Psychgirl, Thanks for the report. Personally from what I have seen, do think many people have yet to take this thing seriously. And right now in this thing's infancy is when people need to take it serious. When it arrives in your community and people are being quarantined, it will be too late do think. Think hardly nobody here in this country are really being serious on this as of yet. I myself have just been sitting and watching things. But to myself can see how it is spreading and it is just a matter of time. Wishing You the Best!
