In twenty years in Louisiana I don't recall anyone saying "unsweetened tea". It was "unsweet tea". You sure you're from there?
I'm absolutely positive I'm not from LA. And when we go out to eat it's you want sweet, or unsweetened. So are you sure you're Southern?

Speaking of exponential growth and why most of the none mathematical among the herd won't get it. I saw a doctor on Steve Bannon's show state that if a Petrie dish has 60 seconds to become 100% contaminated, when is it 50% contaminated? Yep that's right...59 seconds. Holy Batvirus! When this thing reaches 50% population saturation it will completely shut down society in the infection zone.
I think at 10% people will be so freaked out nobody will venture out of their homes, shutting down any useful commerce.

HONOLULU – The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) was notified today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that an adult male who traveled to Maui from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3 and to Oahu from Feb. 3-7 has been confirmed for COVID-19. The individual is a Japanese national who developed severe symptoms, sought medical care, and was diagnosed and tested after leaving Hawaii and returning home to Japan.

The Department of Health was informed that the individual had no symptoms while traveling on Maui and developed cold-like symptoms with no fever while staying on Oahu. The department has begun an investigation and is working closely with state, federal and county officials. A medical advisory was sent out today to alert the healthcare community in Hawaii to be vigilant about possible cases.

“The Department of Health has been expecting and preparing for identifying a travel-related case in Hawaii because of the widespread outbreak in China and other areas of the world. The state is more than ready with aggressive control and prevention measures as we work closely with our medical community and response partners,” said Health Director Bruce Anderson. “We are committed to keeping the public fully informed and will continue to provide updates as this situation unfolds.”

The individual had no symptoms while on Maui and was not contagious,” said Dr. Sarah Park, state epidemiologist. “There is no increased risk on Maui from possible exposure. On Oahu, the individual had cold-like symptoms with no fever. I have alerted physicians that it’s possible that cases may surface sometime before Feb. 21 because the onset of illness is generally within 14 days.”

While traveling on Oahu, the individual stayed with his wife at a timeshare at the Grand Wakikian by Hilton Grand Vacations. The individual did not seek medical care in Hawaii and may have worn a mask during parts of his travel. DOH was informed that the individual wore a mask during his flight back to Japan. Using an mask when you are ill can protect others from becoming infected.

PARIS >> France’s health minister today announced the first coronavirus death in Europe, an 80-year-old Chinese tourist who other French authorities say was initially turned away from two French hospitals when he first fell ill.

Minister Agnes Buzyn said she was informed Friday night of the death of the patient, who had been in intensive care at Bichat Hospital in Paris after testing positive in late January.

His daughter also tested positive for the virus that has spread across central China and was hospitalized. However, the health minister said she was doing well and should be leaving Bichat shortly. The hospital is among a handful in France with special isolation rooms.

As of Saturday, four of the 11 confirmed virus cases in France have been “cured” and left the hospital, the latest a French physician on Friday, she said. Six others still remain hospitalized.

The deceased patient, a Chinese tourist from the province of Hubei, had a serious lung infection caused by the COVID-19 virus.

There were contradictory reports about the timing of the man’s illness. Buzyn said he arrived in France on Jan. 16 and was hospitalized on Jan. 25 under strict isolation measures but his condition deteriorated rapidly.

Other French medical officials said earlier that the man had arrived in France on Jan. 23 and quickly fell ill.

Dr. Yazdan Yazdanpanah, head of Bichat’s infectious diseases unit, said the man had visited two French hospitals but because he “didn’t fulfill the definition” of someone at risk of having the virus, the hospitals decided it was unnecessary to test him. The man did not live in Wuhan, the central Chinese city hardest-hit by the virus, but was from Hubei province that includes Wuhan.

He later tested positive and was admitted to Bichat on Jan. 29, Yazdanpanah said.

Nine European countries collectively have 46 cases of the virus that first emerged in central China in December, with Germany having the most at 16.

The virus has infected more than 67,000 people globally and has killed at least 1,526 patients, the vast majority in China. The World Health Organization has called the virus a threat to global health.

Chinese authorities have placed some 60 million people under a strict lockdown, built emergency hospitals and instituted controls across the country to fight the spread of the virus. Restaurants, cinemas and other businesses have been closed nationwide and sports and cultural events have been canceled to prevent crowds from gathering.

In Munich on Saturday, chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told a gathering of the world’s top defense officials and diplomats that his country was “determined to fight and win this battle” against the virus, and suggested that its efforts were paying off.

“Dawn is breaking and we are seeing light coming through,” Wang said through a translator.

He said the epidemic has presented a “severe challenge” to China’s economy growth but said it was well positioned to rebound.

“The fundamentals sustaining strong economic growth have not changed, and will not change,” he said. “After the storm comes the rainbow, and we are confident that China will emerge stronger from the epidemic.”

Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said all Italians who sought repatriation from Wuhan due to the coronavirus have returned to Italy. The last was 17-year-old student who arrived on a military flight early Saturday after being twice refused passage due to a fever. The teen has tested negative for coronavirus, and will now spend two weeks in quarantine at a military facility near Rome.

one would thin so . . . about that 10% . . . however, consider that Wuhan, with 3500 years of superior Chinese culture, 50 years of superior communist culture, and 20 years of SARS and MERS culture could not seem to figure out the simple concept of quarantine. I do not have the expectation that somehow capitalism, the Democrat party, the constitution, Democracy and a Republic will magically translate to a superior outcome.

COFFEE!!!

How many have stocked enough coffee for when South America goes to pot and stop shipping????

That will end the world as we know it for sure..... People without coffee are worse than Zombies.....

Hey, all... I just want to throw a reminder out there to everyone that just because something is grown, produced, or made in a country outside of China doesn’t mean there still won’t be massive backlogs in supply chains. I read more than once that in many cases, the PACKAGING is made in China. Without canisters or bags mass produced from Asia to pack the coffee in, there’s still no coffee to be shipped regardless of how things go in South America. Same thing goes for myriad products. They might be made here in North America, but packaging comes from China. Or they might be assembled here in North America, but come from China. Case in point, feminine products. I just looked on the package, and it says “assembled in Canada.” It’s possible that product, parts, or packaging still has some Chinese origins. In fact, it’s likely.

I think the implications of this reasoning will be far greater than we could ever imagine.

In other news, I’ve found myself in some serious “nesting” mode, not unlike a pregnant woman preparing for her baby’s arrival. Now it is slowly spreading ... this is located both at Breitbart News and at Natural News also.

At Breitbart, it is entitled: "Vietnam Quarantines 10,000 Villagers for Coronavirus"
At Natural News, it is entitled: "Vietnam Imposes First Mass Quarantine Outside of China, 10,000 Residents on Lockdown"

Take this information as you want ... the quarantines have now left China and are being experienced outside of China.
Thought would let others know ... go look it up for yourselves at these news sites.

And at this news article at Natural News ... it says this province infected in Vietnam is not far from Hanoi and is home for factories owned by both Honda and Toyota.

Going to dinner at a good friends house this evening in a neighboring town. Might be the last time I see him. He's somewhat of a recluse, and if anyone can handle being in home quarantine it's him, wife is a real go getter and will have her issues. She will stay put though. It's a hard thought, this idea that the window to see friends, knowing some will die, is about over. It appears we will all have friends dieing soon, if not us directly or family. The world is about to get very serious, and so few realize it. Count your blessings, use your time wisely in this regard.

Panic early, beat the rush to the bol, and then be sure to have a location prepped for quarantine for the late comers. I'd suggest a months quarantine to be on the safe side, down wind if possible. As to pets??? Might buy some cannaries.

Better hurry, I’ve heard there’s gonna be a run on canned canaries.

Yes, for sure. For the past 2 weeks I have emptied, cleaned out and reorganized every pantry, closet, cabinet, drawer and storage space in the house. I got rid of lots of stuff I don’t use or need and filled in what was missing. It’s a good feeling to know what you have and where it is.

LIVE FROM HONG KONG: Latest Information Coming Out of China Indicates Coronavirus Death Totals Are Much Larger than Reported

Live from Hong Kong

As of this morning, John Hopkins CSSE is reporting that 1,526 individuals have died from the Wuhan coronavirus. However, many believe that these numbers may be way understated.
One report claims that based on the number of individuals cremated every day in Wuhan, there is around 8,000 deaths from the coronavirus:
Based on a phone call to a #Wuhan #Crematorium, Zooming In calculated since 1/25, roughly 470 people died of #coronavirus every day in Wuhan. From 1/25-2/12, over 8000 people died in the city.

Another report coming from the Epoch Times indicates the numbers of deaths in Wuhan from the coronavirus are way low. President Xi’s actions were too late and as a result the political and economic repercussions are devastating:

The few that I have talked to about the virus seem to think that it's just 'over there' and no worse than the common flu and that there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about. They are in for a rude surprise. Even if the virus doesn't run loose through our population the shutdown of China if it continues will be the straw that breaks that old swayback's spine.
Two quick stories:

I went to the bank yesterday. The woman came out of the office with her right hand outstretched, I told her I don't shake hands during flu season. She gave me a strange smile and seemed quite off-put. She then said, oh and don't forget the virus in China, in a way/tone as if her spreading flu was as likely as spreading that disease from china. I didn't say anything. For the next 5 minutes she coughed intermittenly into her right hand, the hand she offered me to shake. I thought to myself, well, just saved myself from some cold/flu germs, good practice to start. I should have been doing this for years.

Family member was told there was a mandatory company meeting on the west coast in April. Not training, the annual rah-rah let's all get together and bond meeting. Thousands attend, all stay in the same resort hotel, eat together, share rooms, etc. Told manager they weren't comfortable flying right now and would probably skip. Manager LAUGHED and said, what are you afraid of some chinese flu? ha ha ha. That's not here, you go if you want to keep your job. I told family member not to stress over it - by April this will be sorted out one way or the other.

Here is yet another economic disaster article indicating our medical systems will have no drugs etc since China is the sole source of medicine for America and many other countries.

WARNING: Coronavirus Pandemic Could Lead To a Massive Global Medicine Shortage
Avatar
by Alicia Powe February 14, 2020 188 Comments

China not only poses an imminent national security threat to the United States militarily and economically, but America relies on the coronavirus plagued communist regime to manufacture nearly all pharmaceutical drugs and medicines, warns award-winning author Rosemary Gibson.

The Chicoms supply nearly all United States medicine – including penicillin, vitamin C, and virtually every other generic prescription and over-the-counter product,” Gibson, author of China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America’s Dependence on China for Medicine, explained on Steven K. Bannon’s War Room Pandemic.

“Nobody knows about how dependent we are on the basic components to make our medicine. This is mostly about generics, which are 90 percent of our medicines. We had to find a cheaper way to make them and so it was outsourced to China,” she said. “This is global – there is a global chokehold on the chemicals, the precursors to make the key ingredients in our medicines.”

Approximately 64,000 people around the world, mostly in China, have reportedly contracted the Wuhan coronavirus and at least 1,380 people have died from the virus as of February 14, CNBC reports. Efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus have shut down factories across China, crippling the vast supply chain the world’s economies rely upon.
The virus could lead to a precipitous drop in exports and production in China, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, Gibson explained.

“Under normal circumstances, without coronavirus, if for some reason we didn’t get exports of medicine from China, within a couple of months our pharmacy shelves would be empty in the United States – in a couple of months,” she said.

Upon the coronavirus remaining rampant in China and spreading across the U.S., medications to remedy the virus would become obsolete, Gibson continued.

“Say people come in who have coronavirus and they go into the hospital. What are they going to get? They might be on a ventilator, and so patients on a ventilator would get sedatives – they’ll get fentanyl or propofol, where do the ingredients come for that? They come from China.

“If your blood pressure is really low, you might get epinephrine or dopamine. Where does that come from? The core chemicals come from China. And if you get a secondary infection, it’s bacterial or if you go into sepsis, which a lot of people die from, where do the antibiotics come from? We can’t even make penicillin anymore and some of the last-resort antibiotics. That’s under normal circumstances, let alone with the coronavirus.”

Many Americans are under the delusion that we have “the best health care system in the world.” While that may be true at many top medical centers, the disturbing truth is that this country shifted is the entirety of its generic medicine and pharmaceutical manufacture to China decades ago.

After former President Ronald Reagan signed the Hatch-Waxman Act in 1984, which encouraged the manufacture of generic drugs by the pharmaceutical industry, US industries began outsourcing to China.

“It began in the early ’90s when generic drugs really came out strong. President Reagan was bipartisan in the 80’s ‘let’s have a generic drug act.’ That made medicines a lot cheaper for people. The brand-name products would go off patent” and more generics were produced, Gibson explained. ” We started sourcing the ingredients to make them in China.

In 2001, when the United States “opened up free trade and China joined WTO, within the next year we lost our last aspirin plant. We lost our ability to make vitamin C. We don’t make the ascorbic acid anymore. That’s when the last penicillin plant closed in 2004.”

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for tightened control over online discussion and increased policing to ensure "positive energy" and social stability, state media said Saturday, as the country struggles to contain the deadly new coronavirus.

Xi's remarks were made public as the authorities have faced rare bouts of public anger over the handling of an epidemic that has killed more than 1,500 people and infected some 66,000 across the country.
Censors had allowed some online criticism of local officials in central Hubei -- the epicentre and origin of the crisis -- but calls for freedom of speech and political reform were scrubbed after the death of a whistleblowing doctor from the virus.
The government must "strengthen the management and control of online media," and "crack down on those who seize the opportunity to create rumours" on the internet, Xi said in the February 3 speech published by state media.
Simultaneously, "it is necessary to increase use of police force and strengthen the visible use of police," Xi said, calling for a crackdown on behaviour that "disrupts social order" including hoarding medical supplies.
Xi urged party members to "dare to criticise" those who had failed to carry out the Communist Party central committee's instructions, and warned "those who fail to perform their duties shall be punished according to discipline and law."
Local officials in Hubei have already begun to feel the force of Xi's orders.
On Thursday, the political chiefs of Hubei and its capital, Wuhan, were sacked and replaced by Xi loyalists with security backgrounds.
The province's top two health officials have also been fired.
Xi also called for the government to emphasize effective actions it has taken and "vividly describe touching deeds" from the frontlines of the fight against the virus.
"Let positive energy fill the cyberspace from start to end," Xi said in the speech, given earlier this month at a meeting of the Politburo Standing Committee, China's ruling council.
Xi initially kept a low profile in the early weeks of the crisis but has stepped up his public rhetoric in recent days on what he has called a "people's war" against the virus.

China disinfects BANK NOTES and quarantines them for 14 days as Beijing announces 143 new coronavirus deaths and 2,641 additional cases while death toll hits 1,527

  • Chinese banks use ultraviolet light then seal and store the cash for up to 14 days
  • The banks have been urged to provide new banknotes to customers if possible
  • Central bank made an emergency issuance of four billion yuan in new notes
China has today started disinfecting and isolating used banknotes in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) that has killed 1,527 people.

Banks use ultraviolet light or high temperatures to disinfect yuan bills, then they seal and store the cash for seven to 14 days - depending on the severity of the outbreak in a particular region - before recirculating them.

The virus, which has infected 66,492 people in China and spread to more than two dozen other countries, has sparked a rush to disinfect public places and minimise contact between people.

Pharmacies across the country sold out of disinfectants and surgical masks in just days after a lockdown was announced in late January on Wuhan city, where the Covid-19 illness is believed to have emerged.

Office buildings have installed packets of tissue in elevators that tenants are encouraged to use when pressing buttons, while ride-hailing company Didi exhorts drivers to disinfect their cars daily.

Fan Yifei, deputy governor of China's central bank, today said that banks have been urged to provide new banknotes to customers whenever possible.

The virus, which has now killed 1,523 people and infected 66,492 people in China, has spread to more than two dozen other countries since the outbreak in January. Pictured are workers disinfecting an area in Beijing

The central bank made an 'emergency issuance' of four billion yuan in new notes to Hubei province, the epicentre of the outbreak, prior to the recent Lunar New Year holiday, Fan added.

The measures are intended to 'secure the public's safety and health when using cash', Fan said.

But it is unclear how wide an impact the central bank's disinfection work will have, with increasing numbers of Chinese people preferring mobile payments over cash in recent years.

In 2017, nearly three quarters of Chinese respondents told an Ipsos survey they could survive a whole month without using more than 100 yuan in cash.

According to the World Health Organization, Covid-19 can be spread through contaminated objects in addition to droplets and direct contact with infected patients.

Now Haven't posted much but having been following this ... it is slowly spreading and it is just a matter of time when it comes to a community near you do think. In this modern day world, everything is global. Now with it being in Vietnam do think is a big changer. It is not just a China Virus anymore. In how few days could is be all over Southeast Asia like in Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand also with the virus slowly spreading outward. Then of what of all the travelers heading here and there in the world with the long incubation rates of this virus. Then of all the economic repercussions involved also. And then on .... already making my plans, soon time to bug out to my secret wilds areas to live with using the good wild edible and medicinal plants and live by my lonesome. It could be awhile till this is over in my opinion.

one would thin so . . . about that 10% . . . however, consider that Wuhan, with 3500 years of superior Chinese culture, 50 years of superior communist culture, and 20 years of SARS and MERS culture could not seem to figure out the simple concept of quarantine. I do not have the expectation that somehow capitalism, the Democrat party, the constitution, Democracy and a Republic will magically translate to a superior outcome.
Heck it will be far far worse here. At least in China they can shoot you and know one cares.... here we shoot back...... a lot!

I expected this.... hoped for better..... knew better.....

HERE IS JUST A SHORT LIST OF THE TIDAL WAVE OF CHINESE BARBARIAN COMMUNIST LIES NOW BEING OPENLY EXPOSED IN THE ALTERNATIVE NEWS MEDIA. The whore, fake news media has lost all credibility and is on the verge of imminent collapse as a news source. The Sheeple will ignore all the political stuff, but when people they know start to get infected, and die and they realize the whores in the media and WHO have lied to them AND THEY HAVE DIED FROM THOSE LIES then the Sheeple will be out looking for blood.
