Or will it be like Clinton-impeached but still remain in office. I know what the Dems want...
The House brings forth the Articles of Impeachment. The House basically presents the evidence of a crime against the President, much like a prosecutor in a trial. The Senate acts as the jury and passes judgement.Clinton became only the second American president to be impeached (the other being Andrew Johnson who was impeached in 1868)[a] on December 19, 1998, when the House formally adopted the articles of impeachment and forwarded them to the United States Senate for adjudication. The trial in the Senate began in January 1999, with Chief Justice William Rehnquist presiding. On February 12, Clinton was acquitted of the charges against him, when the Senate failed to convict him on either of them by the necessary two-thirds majority vote.
Well, the Dems have the numbers to definitely vote to Impeach. I suspect the Senate strategy is to have a trial, then vote - fully expecting the vote to fail. At which point - the Dems will have to try to cobble together something for 2020, to run on besides "vote Trump out".
No. IF the House votes to impeach, he goes to a sham trial in the Senate, then the Senate votes.
The Republican controlled Senate won't vote to convict/remove him.
It's like the T-Shirt said.

Trump gets impeached.
Pence becomes president and pardons Trump
Pence appoints Trump vice president.
Pence resigns.
Trump becomes president.
Trump appoints Pence vice president.
Democrat heads explode.
Impeached for what? No-one has answered that question.
Impeachment means they want to get rid of him by non-democratic means.
Impeached for what? No-one has answered that question.
If Trump were to be impeached by the senate and removed from office, could he continue running and be elected president again?
They have the votes - and even the answer to query. But do they have the "political will?"
Going back home to an electorate sick to death of all this is daunting. Not every Rep is AOC with the delusion rampant in the streets at home. And given the current Trump-Biden flap is SO weak in its foundation, and full of pit-falls for the Democrats over in the Senate when discussion widens to other Democratic bad actors, its unlikely to pass a full House vote - despite what they keep saying.
One has to remember what they say is not what they do.
I mean it was LAST THURSDAY when Pelosi said a vote was "imminent."
Thursday to Monday is an eternity in the news cycle.
Dobbin
And it's a pretty safe bet they'll take the opportunity to drag Joe Biden and his swamp monster son over a thousand miles of broken glass in the process.

YEP >>> the GOP Senate can do whatever they want in their side of the process - and - bringing out the REAL information and putting the REAL criminal on trial >>>> all good parts of a democracy - by time this is over the DNC is going to wish they EVER tried this BS
The short answer is no. The answer among conservatives inside the beltway is "Hahahahahaha, HELL no."
Ain't. Going. To. Happen. No evidence, no evidence, no evidence.
A joke, but it ignores the fact that a appointed vice-president must be confirmed by BOTH the house and senate.
We should not act as IF he can't be impeached. He certainly can. Is it a longshot? Most definitely. Extremely unlikely.
If he is removed from office, Pence has to be confirmed by both the House and the Senate, and the House will not confirm him.
I think their goal was to paralyze Trump. Can you imagine a foreign entity that would talk to Trump on the phone now? I think not. That gutshoots one important tool to conduct foreign policy.
And as I have ranted many times, Trump can be played. And I think they are playing him. Think of the time and energy he has already spent on this when there actually is no action as yet. Wait until the witnesses start testifying and Trump goes ballistic on Twitter because they have so slanted their testimony that it ends up being pretty far from the truth. .
Do you mean for Pence to take office as President? I don't think that is the case, I think all that has to happen is for Pence to be sworn in as President.

I thought it was the case but I don't have time to look it up right now. Maybe someone else will and correct me if I'm wrong.
Think LBJ after the Kennedy assassination. He was sworn in on the airplane before they took off back for DC.
However, a REPLACEMENT VP must be approved by both houses of Congress.

Is there an audio recording or other reliable record of this call, why are they using someone’s notes?
there are a number of weak Republicans who may just vote to dump him!
