I'm playing catch-up on this! Maybe I missed the answer to this question. I found ST. GABRIEL ORGANICS INSECT DUST DIATOMACEOUS EARTH 4.4LBS at my local feed store.

•All natural ingredients (made from FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth).
•The DE Insect Dust is not harmful to humans, pets or the environment.

Is this OK to try?

( I feel totally ignorant, but would like to improve our health safely)

Thanks

I just bought 10 lbs of food grade and a 1000 empty jel caps. I'll make some caps for portable purposes and to give my cat (and dog in the future). Looking forward to adding to my diet.

We just got some and have started taking a bit in juice. It doesn't seem to affect the flavor or texture. DW said she is feeling very tired today. We started yesterday. Maybe her feeling tired is a positive indicator.

I was feeling really tired due to my having been sick for over two weeks. Yesterday was my first dose of DE, this morning is the first morning in 2 1/2 weeks that I didn't feel like I needed to go right back to bed. I got out today for awhile today and ran the streets, ate most of my calories for the day in one meal, and then I was really tired and took a long nap. Passed up a big fish fry (too many calories). No other symptoms here on my second day, except I didn't poop yet today (ick, hate sharing that). If my colon doesn't give it up by bed time I'll have to take a little extra magnesium.

Got mine this afternoon and took one teaspoon this evening. I'm going to keep a diary. My gut is definitely not happy. Things moving along quicker than usual, if ya know what I mean! :) I guess I'm not too surprised. I typically pass out when I get the stomach flu.

Let the good times roll! Bring on the detox!!

I decided to experiment with this, too. I got mine from Amazon this afternoon, and mixed 1/2 tsp in about 6 ounces of water. No flavor, just a chalky texture... not too bad going down.

I'll share if I notice anything that might be attributable to the DE. I would have started with 1 tsp, but I totally messed up my digestive system yesterday after eating too much "sugar-free" (sugar alcohol) candy at once.

Diatomaceous Earth

"Statistics show that in many areas more than 80% of the people have worms, and don't know it" Dr. John Black, Uro-Analytical Procedures, 1977 p.178

For years, experts in autopsy have found that nearly 70% of colons examined contained foreign matter including worms. Intestinal walls are encrusted with old, hardened plating similar to the dental plaque constantly forming on gums and teeth. These experts relate how the insidious "building of this hardened waste matter resembles the inside of a filthy stove-pipe." Prof. Arnold Ehret, "Mucousless Diet Healing System" (1953) p.4

Intestinal parasites multiply by the thousands in the warmth of the body's 98.6 degrees as they feed off refined sweets while nurturing family nests beneath layers of encrustations.

As related by one expert:

"Often there is a craving for sugar and a ravenous appetite that no amount of eating seems to satisfy. Remember you have another living organism - or many organisms - in your system and this infestation needs sustenance. The food it preempts is food that your body would normally be utilizing. So your body demands more. Once the intestines are cleansed and the worms and eggs eliminated, many of the symptoms disappear."
A.L. Gittleman, MS, staff nutritionist, NY Bellevue Hospital.

Parasites are obtained from pets and livestock, going barefooted, eating raw, unwashed vegetables, shaking hands with people who have pets, picking flowers, and many other ways.

Diatomaceous earth and worms are natural enemies and it shreds parasites and their eggs, causing the worm to let go. Old fecal matter and encrustations covering warm nests begin to break loose allowing a natural acceleration of internal cleansing of the body through the bowels.

It takes 20 days (gestation period) for a worm to produce the eggs, so is important to take Fossil Shell Flour daily for a minimum of 20 days. If you miss a day, you will have to start over again.

A word about medical facilities and hospitals: "waterborne microbes- -bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites --can enter into the healthcare environment in several ways: direct contact with or ingestion of drinking water or ice, breathing aerosols from showers and faucets and even from improperly reprocessed medical devices." Parasitic Infections What They are and What Can Be Done About Them

by Garcia Thompson

In today’s society there are many forms of disease, many of which are well documented, researched and acknowledged. However, there is one plague currently infecting over 80% of all Americans (and 85% of people around the world) that receives little or no attention in today’s medical society – the one of parasites and parasitic infections.

Yes, it is a documented fact that almost every adult in the United States is not only susceptible to, but is also currently hosting some form of internal parasite.

Disgusted? Appalled? Disturbed? Sickened?

Those words all described how I felt when I first came to read those statistics. You might ask yourself why I would have been reading about this subject (trust me, not something I’d do in my idle time, normally!)

However, after a month long bout with debilitating fatigue and chronic gastrointestinal pain, coupled with several unhelpful visits to the doctor, I did a little research into what may be causing my symptoms and creating this discomfort. Here’s the information I found, which hopefully may help anyone out there to overcome, eliminate and defeat these silent attackers.

So how do you know if you have a parasite - well, finding out can be difficult, but there are some signs to looks for. Although most everyone feels low at some point or another, going to bed early or sleeping in late, this is not something that should be normal (still, for many folks this is a regular routine.)

Chronic fatigue is one of the main symptoms of a parasitic visitor in your body - some other symptoms include:

itchy nose, ears, anus

men: sexual dysfunction

forgetfulness

slow reflexes

gas and bloating

unclear thinking

loss of appetite

yellowish face

fast heart beat

heart pain

pain in the navel

eating more than normal but still feeling hungry

blurry or unclear vision

pain in the back, thighs, shoulders
lethargy

numb hands

burning sensation in the stomach

women: problems with the menstrual cycle

drooling while sleeping

damp lips at night

dry lips during the day

grinding teeth while asleep

bed wetting

constipation and/or diarrhea

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

achy joints

anemia

allergies

skin conditions

granulomas

nervousness

sleep disturbances (especially between 2-3 am)

tooth grinding/clenching

immune system dysfunction

Realize that although you may not feel ill or tired, there may still be parasites within your system. Parasitic infections are masters at hiding while feeding off the human body.

So, how can you tell? You can try to take a medical test, but as Dr Andersen (a leading authority on parasitic infections) has said:

If you were tested by a doctor for parasites, chances are the results would come back negative. Does this mean you do not have parasites? Unfortunately, medical testing procedures only catch about 20% of the actual cases of parasites.

Over a 1,000 species of parasites can live in your body and tests are available for approximately 40 to 50 types. This means, doctors are only testing for about 5% of the parasites and missing 80% of those. This brings the clinically found parasites down to 1%. Now, if I had a 1% chance of winning in the stock market, I don’t think I would invest. Only 1% of parasites are ever clinically found.

I went through a medical test that cost me $400, was sent to a "top lab" for the detection of parasites, and still was diagnosed as negative (yet after a few cleanses I have been flushing infections, toxins and parasites from my body daily.) So, although there is a chance the lab test will catch the infection, the likelihood is that it won't. (the major problem is that the parasites must not only be on the "list" the lab looks for, but also must be laying eggs when the samples are taken.)

This leads me to explain about the way parasites reproduce, live and thrive, as well as to give a brief description of the two major types:

Let’s try to understand what a parasite does. A parasite eats, lays eggs and secretes. Ok? Let’s break this down into the three parts: the first is "eats." Depending on the kind, parasites will eat different things.

Many thrive off certain types of food, from dairy to sugar to proteins. These parasites live off the food that goes into your body. Mainly found in the digestive tract, they can also be found in the liver as well as throughout the body. No organ within your body is immune to parasites, in reality. Some parasites actually get their nutrition directly from the cells of the body, and feed off those cells, thus making you sick.

They can literally attach themselves anywhere and suck nutrition out of the cells. These parasites are perhaps the most dangerous because they can travel to places in the body where they can do a lot more damage than a parasite living solely in the digestive tract.

Parasites rob you off all your finest nutrients and you get the scraps and leftovers. They grow healthy and fat while your body starves for nutrition. And these visitors can subside and exist in the human body for anywhere in the upwards of 10, 20 or even 30 years.

To illustrate the longevity of parasites in the human body, consider this example. In 1979 a British study reported on 600 former prisoners from World War II. These men had been stationed in the Far East. Thirty years after the war, 15% were still infected with a parasite called Strongyloides that they had contracted during the war. This means you could have eaten meat 10 years ago that was contaminated, and still be hosting the tapeworms or other types of parasites that were in that meat.

Let’s now look at the way parasites reproduce - this is the "lays eggs" part. To start, let’s examine the two main types of parasites and then discuss how each reproduces: Large parasites are visible and are primarily worms and small parasites, which are mainly microscopic in size, include what are called protozoa and amoebae.

Which is more dangerous? Despite their almost invisibility, small parasites can be extremely dangerous. Microscopic parasites can destroy calcium lining in your bones, eat the myecin lining off your nerve cells (causing breakdown of the brain-nerve connection) and even inhabit the liver, colon and other areas causing major discomforts and problems. The small parasites reproduce by duplicating themselves in a manner similar to bacteria or viral reproduction.

Large parasites, which are the worm type, can usually be seen by the naked eye. Sizes can exceed 15 inches long and normally these worms cannot/do not travel past the digestive tract.

The smaller organisms, the protozoa and amoebas, tend to act like a bacteria by traveling through the blood stream to virtually any part of the body. They reproduce without laying eggs and behave more like an infection in the body than do the larger parasites.

The larger parasites are worms which reproduce by laying eggs. Eggs are left in the intestinal tract, where they cling to the intestinal walls among the feces, and when they hatch, the young feed on the food that we eat and eventually grow into adults. The adults then repeat the process.

The third thing that parasites do is secrete toxins.
Simply put, the secretions from parasites in our bodies are poisons and toxins that our bodies are forced to deal with by increasing the process of detoxification.

Anyone who has experienced food poisoning or dysentery will tell you how debilitating these toxins can be. These are intense and very high levels of toxins being released into the body at once.

On the other end, a chronic parasitic infection that secretes low levels of toxins can eventually create an extremely stressed immune system. When the immune system is stressed over a long period of time, it weakens. When the immune system "goes off line," our bodies become susceptible to infections of other kinds.

This can be extremely dangerous in this day and age because we are more exposed to more viruses than ever before. Also, the viruses are changing and adapting at a very fast rate as are the bacteria, many of which are now resistant to antibiotics and other artificial measures that are used to combat them.

In addition, the antibiotics of today as well as any other drug of tomorrow can have a slightly different than intended effect…again, I will let Dr Andersen explain:

Once you have established that you do have parasites, taking drugs to get rid of them may not always work. This is because a drug will often drive a parasite from one organ of the body to another. It’s like people moving to better climates to make their living conditions more pleasant, or birds flying south for the winter.

So, if we aren't able to combat the rising number of parasitic infections with conventional medicine, it is even more important to understand just how we can go about that process. First, let's look at what parasites do and how we sometimes unknowingly "help" them.

Parasites tend to secrete toxins as they live within the human body, which, when coupled with other toxins (like alcohol, cigarettes, junk food, polluted air, etc) can lead to what is termed by many doctors as "toxic overload." Toxic overload comes about when the four primary cleaning systems of the body have been pushed too far by an overload of toxins in the body.

Within the four cleaning systems, the lungs, kidneys, skin and bowels, there are many types of overload that can occur. As an example, toxins will travel from one system to another as the current system gets overloaded. In toxic bowel syndrome, the excess of toxins in the bowels pass onto the liver and the liver becomes over clogged and the toxins begin to spill into the bloodstream.

This can take a long time or can occur very quickly, depending on how the body and its immune system handles the overload. Parasites have an ability to cause a complete system breakdown, making them one of the most dangerous epidemics facing medicine today.

For the time being, the news isn't going to get much better, I'm afraid. Not only do 80-85% of all American adults have some form of parasite, not only are they hard to diagnose, not only can they cause serious damage internally (and often silently for a long period of time) they also come in many forms. From here, you can read about the different types of parasites, or you can skip to "How Do We Get Parasites?"

Here are a few of the different types of parasitic worms the body can acquire and be plagued by - for more complete and in depth analysis of the types of worms found within the human body (complete with pictures,). The following section is taken from the article "Are you Clear of Parasites?" By Dr Andersen, wherein he cites "The Essentials of Medical Parasitology," by Dr. Thomas J. Brooks.

Tapeworms:

The fish tapeworm is the largest of the human tapeworms, reaching the length of 33 feet or more. There can be 3,000 to 4,000 segments in one worm. It can produce more than 1,000,000 eggs a day. This type of infestation can cause anemia because of interference with vitamin B12, says Dr. Brooks in his book. Also, the weight challenges of some people can be directly attributed to tapeworms. This is especially true of weight loss programs that don’t work. The person may be hosting a tapeworm which is eating all the food and making the person constantly hungry. Tapeworms can also cause water retention. Besides tapeworms from beet, pork and fish, there is also a type of dog tapeworm you can get when dogs lick your face or hands.

Pinworms:

Pinworms are very infectious and can cause a lot of itchiness in the anal area. "The worms deposit their eggs mostly at night, contaminating pajamas and bed linen," writes Dr. Brooks. "The eggs are readily transported through the air, and it is not uncommon to find them in every room of the house....Complications are much more common in women than in men" . Pinworms can also be found in the vulva, uterus and fallopian tubes because the female worm loses her way while trying to return to the anus after depositing her eggs.

Roundworms:

Another type of roundworm that can be present in humans is whipworms. These insidious creatures actually inject a digestive fluid which converts the colon tissue into liquid which the worms sucks up. Dr. Norman Stoll, a former worm expert at the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research, estimated that the roundworm infects about 644 million people in the world. This was in the 1940s and there are no doubt a lot more people infected with roundworm now! Dr. Brooks believes nutritional deficiencies are seen in heavy roundworm infections.

Hookworms:

Hookworms bite and suck on the intestinal wall, which can cause bleeding and necrosis (death of the tissue). In severe infections, iron deficiency becomes a therapeutic problem because of all the iron that is lost to the hookworm. Dr. Brooks says that, "hemoglobin levels as low as 15% of normal have been seen in patients with severe, long-standing hookworm disease. One species of hookworm in America is called "Necator Americanus," which means, "American Murderer."

Again, these are just a few types of parasites found within the human body, the list is much more extensive, but these are the most common. So, now we know what parasites do, how they reproduce, what damage they can cause and some of the types we can be infected with.

So, that leaves the thoughts - "how do we catch parasites?" and "how do I get rid of these invaders?" First, let's go over how we catch parasites, and then we can more fully and knowledgeably discuss how to get rid of them.

How Do We Get Parasites?

Parasites can get into your system in many ways, some of them seemingly innocuous enough on their own. Anything from shaking hands to sharing somebody else’s soda can - from kissing (even on the cheek) to intimate sexual contact and believe it or not, you can even pick up parasites by inhaling dust which contains the dried form of these organisms.

You can get parasites from a variety of foods, especially undercooked red meats (and yes, I consider pork to be a "red" meat.) You can get parasites from many strains of water (giardia being the most common form of water borne parasitic infection.) You can even get parasites from unwashed or mishandled lettuce and other vegetables. No one is immune to the scourge of parasites. So, I think you'll agree, parasites are actually fairly easy to "catch."

The really discouraging thing about parasites is that they can not only be hard to get rid of, but also that you can easily be re-infected. Married couples tend to have them together; and when one person is treated for the parasitic infection, they are often re-infected by their spouse.

It is extremely important that both be treated at the same time, and in many cases, the children should be treated along with their parents. Not only that, but it is important to be sure to stay on whatever cleansing program you take for at least the recommended time period and to NOT miss a single dosage. Parasites live because they are tenacious and stealthy - in order to knock them out, we have to be vigilant and perseverant.

So, how do you go about getting rid of parasites? Let's take a look at that process - the best solution we have found is adding Perma-Guard Fossil Shell Flour to the diet.

Perma-Guard FSF is pure food grade Diatomaceous Earth from a fresh water source and milled to our specifications.

The diatomaceous earth acts as a sort of scrub down of both the large and small intestine, down through the colon. The tiny crystals of ground fossil shells tumble down your GI tract and shred the eggs and existing worms that have taken up residence in your body.

Therefore, when you are on Perma-Guard FSF, you will rarely see worms exiting your body, however, you will feel an improvement after 30-90 days on this system flush. After the "flush" I use 1 teaspoon of Perma-Guard FSF daily for maintenance.

My recommendation is that everyone should use Perma-Guard FSF 90-day parasite cleanse. I often hear the common statement, "I am healthy. I don’t have parasites".

One lady claimed this and I replied, "Everyone has some form of parasites which they may not be aware of. Therefore, if you want to reach the next level of vibrant health, get rid of the parasites". I challenged her and she decided to try the product.

After only two days on the product, she noticed a poking sensation in her lower abdomen and felt a wiggling sensation in one of her legs.
The next day she passed an 8 inch worm and since then, has passed many different sizes and types of parasites.

Remember, most parasites are not noticeable to the human eye. To overcome this major challenge in our society today it is vital that parasites be openly discussed. Given what I know now about Perma-Guard FSF, I am confident that it works and is a safe solution.

I highly recommend this 100% natural, organic food. This product produces results! I personally believe this is one of the greatest contribution to health in the world today.

The Perma-Guard FSF parasite cleanse is a 90-day program with a recommended usage of once or twice annually. Everyone needs this product, whether you have symptoms, or are asymptomatic (meaning you have parasites but no symptoms). My recommendation is, you need this cleansing process to reach your optimum health potential. This product can even be used on your pets! (They sleep and play with your children).

Just got mine yesterday and started it this morning. Now Hubby says he isn't taking it until he sees what it does to me. I am sad. I wanted us both to start together and then hopefully our son will see things pass from us and take some. I have suspected a lot of his mental issues are due to him living in the Virgin Islands for 6 months. I never knew him to have panic attacks or anything until after he got back. And he drank the water.

I got mine from Amazon as well and just started yesterday. There is another use for DE and I don't know if it's been talked about on this thread. Try using it as a toothpaste!! The stuff works fantastic. Leaves your teeth feeling silky clean like you just got back from a teeth cleaning at the dentist. It's completely natural and keeps the fluoride out of your system that most commercial toothpaste has. Does leave you with a dry mouth though so you have to rinse a bit.

We just got our order delivered right to the bunker from Earthworks Health. Took four days from order date via FED X. Driver got lost of course but finally found us. They sell a 50# bag of Perma-Guard FSF for $27.50 plus delivery to your area. It worked out to $1.15 per pound. Seemed like very nice people to do business with and very prompt. Would certainly recommend them. Dear Loving Wife and I will start today. Thanks for the Brushing Teeth tip HF.

When these worms pass out are they dead or alive? Also, if you have a colonoscopy wouldn't they see if you have worms up there?

I'm interested in knowing about the colonoscopy vs. the parasites, too. Anyone know?

I started taking the DE this past Monday morning. Interested to see any results.

Thank you for sharing this information.

Friend D_ went to the doctor first,, because she had these terrible itchy breakouts checked on her bottom. They did a colonscopy as well, and said they couldn't find anything wrong.
This condition, she says, is about 90% healed by using the DE, and parasites actually came OUT of the sores!

We've talked for hours on end about how her family contracted all these parasites, and I wonder about their well water. She said it hasn't been tested in 20 years, so I'm pleading with her to get it tested. For now she's drinking bottled water or boiling it first.

Oregano oil (ONE drop) does this too... that squeeky clean feel. I had ditched the toothpastes long ago (other than an occasional use of one worthwhile neem healthfood store tube). Went to baking soda & salt mostly, followed by rinse then oregano oil drop. That gives that unusual after dentist feel of clean too. Will replace the baking soda blend now with DE & follow up with oreg oil drop. Best of both worlds I bet. Fed Ex delivered our DE last night so we've only had less than a tsp of DE so far.

From what I understand in the many articles, they mostly come out shredded. If you eat lots of enzyme rich foods, pinapple and papaya, it may help further digest the dislodged parasites.

DISCOVERED NEW MECHANISM HOW A PARASITE CAUSES CANCER

Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - 16:20 in Health & Medicine

About 200 million people across 75 of the poorest countries in the world are now infected by the blood parasite Schistosoma haematobium (S. haematobium).

The infection provokes severe urogenital disease, but also causes bladder cancer in a number of patients and why this occurs is not clear But now a group of Portuguese scientists believe they have the answer – the research, to appear in this month International Journal of Parasitology, reveals that the parasite’s eggs can make human bladder cells behave as cancerous cells.

And the key to that – according to the first author of the work Mónica Botelho– are catechol oestrogens, a molecule derived from estrogen (the sex hormone) that was found by the researchers in the eggs and is known to be highly carcinogenic (causes cancer).

The research, a collaboration of the CECA/ICETA from the University of Porto, the National Institute of Health in Porto, Portugal and the George Washington University, US could be a first step towards one day be able to identify S. haematobium infected patients at risk of bladder cancer or even prevent the cancer by targeting catechol-oestrogens. Schistosomiasis is also associated to fertility problems and the newfound molecules might hold the key to also understand this.

Schistosomiasis, despite the numbers infected, remains a neglected tropical disease that affects the world’s poorest with a socioeconomically impact in the developing world only second to malaria.

The disease is transmitted to humans by freshwater snails from contaminated waters, with the worms entering our blood stream to release eggs that become embedded in the bladder wall where they cause chronic inflammation and, in some

patients, lead to bladder cancer.

How common is this carcinoma among parasite-infected patients is difficult to know because the most affected countries are also the world’s poorest with scarce or even non-existing disease recording.

Nevertheless, in Egypt, disappearance of S. haematobium saw the type of tumors associated with the infection going from being almost 80% of all diagnosed bladder cancers, to less than 27 %, suggesting that the infection leads to a significant number of cancer cases.

S. haematobia life cycle

Botelho and colleagues have been investigating this relationship for many years, and shown already that extract from the adult worm could make animal cells acquire cancer-like characteristics and even form tumors if injected into mice with no immune system, further proving the parasite-cancer link.

Following the finding that Schistosomiasis’ patients had higher than normal levels of oestrogens Botelho and colleagues also discovered new estrogenic molecules released by S. haematobium.

These molecules down-regulate estrogen receptors effectively blocking the host’s oestrogens (that act through these receptors). This, as Botelho explains “was an important clue because we know that oestrogen receptors are reduced when cancer becomes more invasive”.

The new molecules were later identified as a combination of DNA and catechol oestrogen-quinones (a derivate of estrogen). Catechol estrogens have been linked to several types of cancer, including breast and prostate cancer, suggesting that the new molecules could be the link between schistosomiasis and bladder cancer.

The research now published follows these results looking at the effect of S. haematobium eggs (the parasite stage associated with the cancer development) on normal human bladder cells. For that Botelho and colleagues exposed the cells to extract from the eggs and found that treated cells, when compared with normal control cells, divided much more, died much less and showed signs of oxidative stress.

Uncontrolled cell division and resistance to die are hallmark characteristics of cancer, and oxidative stress is known to be implicated in cancer formation.

To confirm that these changes were linked to cancer Botelho and colleagues next looked for DNA lesions. If DNA - the cell’s “instruction book” - becomes damaged and is not properly repaired, it will start giving wrong “instructions”, which can lead to the abnormal behavior typical of cancer (uncontrolled cell multiplication, “immortality”, etc.). And in fact, exposure to parasite’s eggs was linked to a visible increase in DNA lesions in the cells. The eggs were confirmed to contain the same new estrogenic molecules found in adult worms.

S. haematobia eggs embedded in the bladder wall (Image from CDC Public Health Image Library)

Based on the new data, Botelho and colleagues are now proposing a mechanism for the Schistosomiasis-bladder cancer connection.

As Botelho explains, ”What we think happens is that the parasite releases oestrogen molecules into the host. These are metabolized into catechol-oestrogen quinones, which are known to have high affinity for DNA and as result form estrogen-DNA adducts that can lead to the bladder cancer."

In fact, adducts , defined as pieces of DNA covalently bonded to a cancer-causing chemical, are known to interfere with normal cell division increasing the chance of DNA mutations and, consequently, of cancer. The carcinogenic effect of this estrogen–DNA adduct could then explain the link between S. haematobium infection and the carcinoma.

Botelho and colleague’s work have several implications – the possibility of using the new identified estrogenic molecules as biomarkers for bladder cancer in Schistosomiasis patients, or even as therapy targets for a start.

This is important because although at the moment it is suggested that there are about 4 cases of cancer for 100 000 Schistosomiasis-infected individuals what does not seem much, but we must remember that 200 millions people are believed to be infected, and even those numbers, like the Egypt case suggests, are probably a gross underestimation. The reality is that carcinoma of the urinary bladder is the most common malignancy in the Middle East and parts of Africa where schistosomiasis is a major problem.

Not only that but, and despite the existence of a cheap and effective drug, the disease (which is asymptomatic until very late) seems to be increasing and spreading. This is probably due to the large numbers of economical migrants from developing countries, as well as the wars in these areas of the globe, that create large displacements of people.

Another interesting potential implication for Botelho’s results is the possibility that the new identified estrogenic molecules could have a role in other cancers associated with infection and estrogenic changes, such as cholangiocarcinoma, a liver cancer linked to an infection by a parasitic liver fluke.

A question remains though - why does the parasite produce estrogenic molecules? An option, according to the researchers, could be that uses them to reduce the density of the bladder wall (a known effect of reduced estrogen receptors). After all S. haematobium eggs must cross the bladder mucosa to be excreted in order to survive and continue its life cycle. Another possibility is that the parasite is manipulating the host’s hormonal environment to improve its own living conditions.

Part of Botelho’s future work will be looking at the effect of the new estrogenic molecules on the parasite life cycle.

PARASITES CAUSING CANCER IN CHILDREN

Childhood Cancer Epidemic
by Ron Gdanski
SAVE
Cancer is the first epidemic in history in which medical authorities don’t know the cause and therefore can do nothing to stop it. Our children are not being spared by this worldwide epidemic. Indeed, in some rural areas, cancer rates for children appear to be increasing faster than those of adults.

Have you noticed that almost all early warning signs for cancer include references to injury and infection, such as unexplained bleeding, the "appearance" of infection, pain, abnormal growths and injuries that do not heal?

Consider all the cancer-related factors (so-called carcinogens and mutagens) such as stress, shock, lifestyle, nutritional deficiencies, pollutants, parasites, injuries and chemical toxins. Do these "predispose" us to defective genes or actually cause infection, membrane-wall weakness, tapped blood clots and loss of healing?

There is no proof that defective genes cause cancer. However, Dr Fibiger received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1926 for proving that parasitic larvae cause cancer. We now recognize that cancer starts with an injury to a mass of infected cells. Toxins and pollutants contribute to cancer by allowing infections to occur. Environmental pollutants such as residual DDT, lawn and garden sprays, household insect sprays and crop sprays can explain the rising incidence of infant cancer in rural areas.

Chemical toxins disturb the cellular environment, which allows infectious parasitic lifeforms such as virus, bacteria, fungi and parasite larvae to invade normal cells. Parasites provide the uncontrolled production of growth factors that cause warts, polyps, cysts, ulcers, lumps and other pre-cancerous lesions. Parasites also burrow into and weaken membrane barriers. A break in the integrity of infected internal membranes initiates the autonomic repair-of-injury mechanism to repair the injury just as it does for repair of a cut finger.

Here’s why the early warning signs of cancer include unexplained bleeding, pain, infection and lack of healing. The break in the membrane initiates the repair-of-injury process leading to rapid doubling of infected cells and the microbes inside them. Microbial growth factors continue to cause cell-wall mutation and loss of healing. The autonomic repair-of-injury process becomes locked in high gear duplicating the pathogens and infected cells that fail to heal the intended injury. That’s cancer!

Eliminate the Causes

Can parents do anything to protect their children from cancer? Yes. They must eliminate the causes. It helps to understand the cancer process if we look upon the causes of cancer as having three components, much like the three legs of a stool. They are all equally important.

Eliminate the parasites that infect cells and provide the primitive growth factors that cause human cells to mutate during mitosis. Recognize that DNA cannot divide and multiply without DNA polymerase. Eliminate this vital growth factor and growth stops. Do a herbal parasite cleanse to kill the parasites. Avoid ingesting the residual growth factors in meat and dairy products caused by man-made growth stimulants and rapidly growing parasites in animals prior to slaughter.

Avoid accidental or medical intervention that breaks the membrane of a pre-cancerous lesion, such as the incision for exploratory surgery or the needles for a biopsy.

Avoid chemotherapy designed to kill all rapidly growing cells because the autonomic repair-of-injury process stays locked on until the injury is healed. Support the immune system to heal injuries with healthy normal cells. You have time if the essential growth factors have been eliminated and growth stopped.

Return the cellular environment to healthy conditions through nutrition. Support the immune system to cleanse the cellular environment of toxins and pollutants that stop the oxidative process. Cleanse the colon, kidneys and liver to help eliminate toxins. Remove all mercury amalgam fillings. Chelate toxic metals with chelators that bind to toxic metals and help eliminate them from the body. Increase oxygen levels to oxidize toxic chemicals. Drinking freshly ozonated water before the ozone breaks down is probably the most effective way to increase oxygen levels in the body.

Recognize that throughout history medical societies have maintained a position of power and wealth by healing, not preventing. There is no indication that modern medicine has dropped this valuable business practice. Indeed, with a business monopoly in health care paid for by public taxation, and control of human perceptions through the mass media, we are all easily misled.

Recognize that the cause-of-cancer misinformation and the dependence on drug therapy on television and other mass media is now on the Internet. Free information costs you far more than you think. They say our mind is like a parachute; it only functions when open. Keep an open mind. Whatever the source of your information, take the time to read between the lines. Don’t be afraid to ask: "Why should I believe you?"

Recognize that you must take control of your own health and that of your family. No one is going to do it for you.

A new study links parasites with immunosuppression. Stool specimens taken from 38 children with malignancy and from 92 healthy children were investigated for intestinal parasites.

The 38 children with malignancy had lymphoma or leukemia and were considered immunosuppressed. Several different parasites were found in 16 of the 38 patients with immune deficiency (47.3%) , compared to only 16 of the 92 healthy children (17.3%).
The incidence of parasites in patients with malignancy who were immunosuppressed was significantly higher than in the healthy control group. Hubby and I started to take DE this morning. I'll report any changes.

ps: We have been having honey and cinnamon tea every morning for awhile. We have more energy and hubby's grey hair is darkening quite abit.

I'm coughing up a bit of mucus, this is unusual for me. I was recently sick with the allergy attack from hell, but my cough was dry and hacking, and violent. this cough is not much, but all of a sudden I cough up white mucus. Maybe I had this crap in my lungs and didn't know it. When I get, what I always call allergy, its always congestion in my head and I never seem to have anything in my lungs, but this stuff is not coming from my head. It must be the DE working. This is my third day.

Could the bacteria in your stomach be making you fat? Studies point to a specific microbe that causes the body to hoard calories. A new test can reveal if you have it, and now researchers are looking to a common medicine as a possible fix.

Researchers at Cedars-Sinai have found that breath can tell them a lot about what kind of microbes are living in the gut.

"All sorts of little critters,” said Dr. Ruchi Mathur, diabetes specialist with Cedars-Sinai. “The majority of those are housed in the GI tract and they help us harvest nutrition, they help us digest food."

Researchers are specifically looking at a microbe called Methanobrevibacter smithii.

"So we think the microbe is working to increase calorie intake from foods that we consume,” said Mathur. “We think it does it by increasing calorie harvest that the other microbes in the gut are receiving, and also by slowing intestinal transit."

These microbes produce a lot of methane and hydrogen, so if there is a high amount of those gases in the breath, that’s a telltale sign that this microbe is present and may be causing weight gain.

"They tend to have a higher BMI or body mass index, and a higher percentage of body fat,” said Mathur.

Denise Hannagan is active, eats healthy foods, but she’s been gaining weight rapidly.

“It was quite a bit. It’s been 20 pounds over two years, so that’s significant to me,” she said.

So she took the breath test.

“I was kinda shocked that I was positive,” she said.

Now she’s participating in a trial to see if antibiotics will make a difference.

"We think that we might be able to help some people who have this microbe, eradicate it and perhaps lose a bit of weight,” said Mathur.

"I hope that I would lose weight, and keep the diabetes away from my diagnosis," added Hannagan.

Researchers caution that it’s much too early to recommend antibiotics for weight loss, but the finds may help explain why some people can’t seem to shed the excess pounds.

Dr. Mathur's study is published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.

This is how the DE is working on me too. I have had a difficult time clearing out my congestion the last few months, but am now starting to cough up a little mucus. I really hope that this works...it would be a lifesaver. I started on Monday, so this is my fifth day, but I noticed the coughing on Wednesday.

I just ran across this while researching DE. I wonder if taking it with apple cider vinegar would increase bioavailability of the silicon:

"Silicon in food is solubilized by stomach acid into orthosilicic acid, which absorbs directly through the stomach wall and the intestine into the blood. Lower stomach acidity, whether due to illness or age, diminishes our ability to metabolize silicon from food sources. Aging is reported to be associated with an increasing gastric pH. In this view elderly people will have a decreased capacity to convert dietary silicates into bioavailable orthosilicic acid. "

It was from a thread here on TB but I modified it a little. I measure 1/4 tsp of cinnamon in a coffee mug, add hot water (3/4 to full cup depending on the mug size) and then add about a tsp of local raw honey. Hubby adds lemon juice to his. That's it. We drink it every morning after we've had coffee. We've been doing it about three months now and both of us have more energy, less allergy problems. There is a noticeable difference in hubby's hair, not so much in mine, darn it.

This is very fascinating and I remember an ND I know, mentioned this about ten years ago, to me.

Now I wonder if my British Shorthair cat Bee Bee has this, he's overweight and has 'doo-doo breath'. V

I started taking DE today too. My meds give me GI problems. I already drink aloe juice daily The aloe has really helped with the GI stuff. Now, we shall see what happens. I ordered the DE via Amazon. Had a better deal on the shipping. Got the 4 big plastic bottles of it.
