Currently trending on Netflix is a version (done by the Game of Thrones peeps) of the Chinese SF "The Three Body Problem", which is the first in a trilogy. I haven't read the books; I have only watched this version and the earlier Chinese TV series.
I have to say that the Chinese TV series, while it moves glacially slow, is better. You get more of an understanding of a certain character, another character is more charismatic than was portrayed in the Netflix series, and as a bonus you get an understanding of what it was like in China during the cultural revolution (Mao). (I did not like that the Netflix version went beyond the scope of the first novel in the trilogy, "The Three Body Problem", delved into later parts of the trilogy, and totally messed with the characters AND a couple of important scenes. This is a work of fiction done by a Chinese author, most of the characters are Chinese, the first novel was mostly set in China, yet in the Netflix version, they've turned a male character into a female *spit* and done who knows what other probably woke things... "inclusivity", you know. The Chinese series pretty much sticks to the first of the three novels.)
For those willing to give it a try, here is a link to the Chinese series (subcaptioned in English):
