What has kept the A2 from being revoked?
- what happens if it were to be revoked?
How has A1 been preserved, more or less anyways?
- if there is no right to free speech, if there is no free press, and you the govt says you cannot redress of grievances of the govt?
Suppose the govt could demand to inspect your bank account at any time they choose, without even giving reason, could with no notice confiscate your property, bank account, vehicle, do any of these things as much and as often as the want?
- if the govt can take your property, is that actually your property to begin with?
Need I go on with examples of the rest of the Amendments stating what govt is prohibited and prevented from doing? Sadly is that most of what the amendments were meant to prevent from happening already are being ignored and discarded. More sadly, these amendments, which are negative as in 'the govt shall not do', do not apply to corporations. Hence govt/private partnerships, govt collusion with corporations, fascism.
IMO, the most important is A2 because as you know, the idea was that if all else fails, the govt should be fearful of an armed populace deposing them by whatever means necessary - declaration of independence states that clearly! Without that safeguard, ALL rights mean squat. You and I cease to have any rights. We don't even have the means to revolt.
In a succinct way your validated my my point about being out-voted. Most IAs are here because they believe or were told that they'll receive govt benefits and a better standard of living for themselves and their kids. IE will be paid to come here and paid to or given stuff free so that they stay here, and probably told that they'll be able to vote. Vote maybe not next year but it will happen. In the mean time, they'll get to vote illegally.
Who's side do you suppose those millions will for? If that side (IAs + idiot D voters) outnumbers traditional conservative American citizens, what happens to our rights and our standard of living?
War won without any major fighting necessary. We loose, they won - because they ARE smart and have had this planned for decades, haven't tried facing the A2 armed public head on, and they play(ed) the long game.
IMO, that scenario is 100X worse that 911.
Counselor, your witness.
When you have been through 9/11 first hand, you know those things aren't worse. Those things can be fixed. The death and destruction of a 9/11 event is nothing compared to what you said to those who live through it. Worse than 9/11 is your home, town and even that bank with all your money being crushed to dust. Worse is a foreboding wall of debris heading for you and overcoming you as you run, looking for a place to hide. Dust blocking out the sun for weeks and the stench of death lingering in the air. If you manage to survive, dust making it hard to breathe.
Worse means you live in panic state, not knowing where your children are, if they are safe and how you can maneuver the debris and traffic of thousands of other parents trying to get to their children too find out their fate. Worse is walking in silence, covered in dust with thousands of other people over bridges and down highways for hours to try and get home because all forms of transportation are shut down and you are miles from home. Many walking all night in silence with no way to communicate to loved ones that they are OK.
The last thing on my mind on 9/11 was my bank account, who won or stole votes, our Constitution, investments or even what was going to happen tomorrow. It was more primal than that.
Worse is the months and weeks following, watching your family members leave in the morning to go work on "the Pile" and praying they stay safe and come back to you. Worse is crying at simple things because your days are governed by fear and immense gratitude that you are alive and some of your coworkers are not.
Worse is making hundreds of phone calls in the days that followed trying to contact survivors and find out who lived and who died and where people are. Talking to family members who are in a state of shock and fear because their loved one is unaccounted for. For many of them, they were parents too, living their worst nightmare - their child dying a violent death they could not protect them from.
I worked for the company that was hit by the first airplane at the WTC. I worked in a different metro office. Everyone I talked to in that office daily was gone in a second. Only one person, the manager of the location, survived and he only did because it was his childs first day of kindergarten and he had taken the morning off and wasnt in the office. He normally would have been.
What you describe is "inconvenience", maybe in a problem, but is not worse than 9/11. You are thinking numbers, figures, laws and abstractly with those things. Worse than 9/11 is physical....in its most violent form, not abstract.
9/11 was my wakeup call. I never again want to be in that situation, and if I am, I never want to feel that helplessness again. That is how I found these forums and started prepping seriously. I went so far as to quit that job because the anxiety of going into the city every day sent me into constant panic attacks and sleepless nights worrying about the next day. I lived that way for years following and I just couldnt do it anymore.
