Pulled the trigger on a pair of
CeraMetrix 5" imperial gravity filters.

At the rate we drink water, a set will probably last us a few years before the internal carbon filtering runs down.
Then, we could still filter out rain water (bugs) by cleaning the ceramic shells, but not heavy metals and chemicals.
We use a countertop filter to get everything out but fluoride.
So this is an economical way of filtering it out.
Plus, the added bonus, if things tank, we have a solid water filtering system, especially for rain water.
And, more than likely, we will be helping neighbors with filtered water.
On a sidenote,
Michael Yon mentioned that the #1 plague that comes with wartime is Typhus because of the unsanitary conditions that follow. So good clean water is a start to keep that away.
And, it wouldn't hurt to keep a med or natural remedy for typhus around, going forward.
