Pear Butter

I tried making some pear butter today and it was supposed to thicken after cooking it for about an hour....well....I cooked it for about three hours and it's still runny....the taste is great, but how do I thicken it.

I would just keep cooking it, very slowly and very carefully, like in a crockpot.
