Great start. We really need more stories of women who can!

This comment is NOT a woman's Lib type view, but in today's reality there are more and more woment alone and stories like this will show that a woman can do it - maybe just a little differently than a man. Too many women out there really do believe that they 'can't do it alone' or have never even thought about what it would be like.

And additionally, most of the info and attitude is valid whether you ae male of female.

Keep on writing and posting (QUICKLY) I love this story, Thanks!

Sssarawolf,
I so enjoyed Down the Hole and am very excited that you are taking us on another adventure. I love that the main character is an emerging strong woman that can be an example to us as she learns and grows in confidence.

We're just plugging along.
Chapter 4 is up.

Sorry I am so late getting this up. We tore the kitchen out this week and just got a few minutes break. New cabinets and counter in, we got running today with new sink and etc. Be a few days till we are done with the rest of the floor so the stove and fridge are still sitting in the dinning room. Only the fridge is plugged in. Nothing like camping out inside.

Wow, good stuff, looking forward to more, but I sure hope the feed store kid is a good guy and capable. If not, I hope she dumps him quick!

Great read,, but the Ruger 22/45 is not a switch caliber gun, the 45 part of the name refers to the grip angle that matches the 1911 as opposed to the regular MkII that more closely resembles the Luger Parabellum.

That said, there are many centerfires that CAN switch to the 22 with simple kits, but the reverse is seldom true simply because the mag well for a 22 is simply too small for a centerfire.

OK, the story itself is a great read so far and the creepy feeling is likely justified. Trust the gut feeling and lets open those boxes!

I found a place that sells the 22/45 conversion kit and its in my papers. :) Or I would have never have wrote about it, I thought it was so neat. I will have to find the web site I found it for you. :) We have been making a mess here so I will post the web site for it when i find my papers. Thank you for posting.

Love the story!

My stupid question is: Why would she want to cure the meat of the mountain lion? I wouldn't think they were edible.

Skinning it, I can understand.

It's a very enjoyable story, and I look forward to the following chapters! Having a dumped upon woman growing into confidence and self-reliance is a great theme. Her encounter with the wildlife agents unfortunately is similar to ours. We had a bear raiding our bee hilves and were told that the Fisheries and Wildlife Department would not trap it, as we "live in bear country." Well, we do, but the Native folks also had been living with bear here for perhaps eight thousand years, so it isn't as though we have just moved in on the bear's habitat. Long story short: I could shoot the bear myself to protect my property, which I finally did after every attempt we could think of to scare it off. That was around 0330, and it was back tearing apart the hives despite lights, tin pans on wires, and even talk radio blaring away. When I notified both the agency and the sheriff, the Fisheries and Wildlife office sent out an agent, who said that sure, they would try to trap it!

We had summer sausage, grease for boots, plus claws to share with tribal folks for ceremonial use, but no reply from the manager at Mill Creek when I wrote a letter suggesting they might get their procedures together.

On with the story!

Okay found the place I found the ruger Mk-22/45 :) Got my living room back lol.

http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/

They offer great accessories indeed,, but call the toll free number and ask to speak to a gunsmith about converting the 22/45 to a .45 and they will confirm, it is absolutely impossible. I am not just digging at a wound here, I really am just trying to set the record straight.

Lol well then so much for that nice print out I have on the Ruger 22/45 conversion kit. Dang

Thanks for being so prompt with chapter 9. I'm really getting into the story and would go into withdrawl if they were too far apart!!
In chapt 8 you certainly got the whole flavor of the typical govt. worker right - - "This baby will go into the record books with our names right next to it," Taking credit for something they didn't do.

Thanks for #11 - -WOW, really makes me wonder about the weather anomolies that are happening so often and just who may be manipulating the atmosphere?????????????????????

Thanks Sara for Chapt. 13---
Oh that General Cheng - - -
He reminds me of what my instructor said when I was taking my certification as a colon hydrotherapist - - -
"No wonder there are so many problems in our country when you realize it is being run by a bunch of constipated old men."
Ater that, whenever I would see some disgruntled politician on TV with an angry, sour looking face, I would just laugh and think - - - -Eeww, I bet you haven't had a good dump in a week!!!!

Still enjoying the story! I am curious though about more detail of how the weather machine works, is it something on the ground that is triggered by a satellite, something beamed from a satellite, something flown in an air plane or????????? Maybe you are coming to that part and my question is premature.

Another good chapter. Thanks,,

Are you wanting feedback on editing out typo's and such?

Paragraph 8 of the newest chapter:

More and more he thought of his own soldiers as his slaves and surfs and himself as their master.

should read:

More and more he thought of his own soldiers as his slaves and serfs and himself as their master.

I noticed a few of these in prevous chapters, but wasn't sure if you were after that kind of feedback. please advise.

I am a big fan of these memberstories, thanks to all the authors for sharing your time and efforts with us.
