Want to try it for a rash that just won't go away. I found some on eBay, but how do I know it's the "right" and "good" stuff?

Thanks

Mzkitty

I give up.
I got mine at Wallyworld. It's pretty cheap.

Are you sure it would work on your rash though?

Lots of people highly recommend it. I tried it for toenail fungus. The tea tree oil had such a powerful odor to it I could not use it. If you are sensitive to perfumes or strong smells, don't put it on your skin. Same way with Oregano oil.

PM Jazzy and order some of her Soothing Calendula Salve for comfort and healing. Tea Tree Oil (I get mine at Wallyword too) is pretty harsh on the skin. I dilute mine with Vitamin E Oil about half and half and use that as a topical for everything. Both oils have healing properties but the E really moistures which counteracts the harsh drying properties of the Tea Tree Oil.

YMMV

Thanks. I'm desperate.

OTC stuff does not work. I have tried both antifungals. The doc has given me both antibiotics and corticosteroids.

Broke out right after my last trip to Gettysburg. I wonder if I picked something weird up there.

If you are looking at it for a rash, you can find it at almost any drug store, Target, or Walmart. Just be sure it saye 100% Maleluca Oil.

Once you have that little bottle (NOT expensive, BTW) sit down and take 2 CC's of Tea Tree Oil and 2 CC's of olive oil, or mineral oil, and dilute the Tea Tree because it can sting a LOT on even intact skin.

For the uninitiated, Tea Tree is a SUPERB anti-fungal and a reasonable surface disinfectant.

Your oil should say 100% tea tree oil and have no other ingredients.

It's good for treating both fungal and bacterial infections. It is strong however so I would try a little (like on a q-tip) and see how it goes. I know it's said you should never use it straight but sometimes (in my experience, and I'm not prescribing anything) it's been the only way to go.

Edited to add: I would back up what night driver says about how to dilute it.

Please make sure you didn't pick up scabies. A guy I know had a rash that spread over his body. Went to doctors, dermatologists, etc. Took pills, had antifungals, etc. Finally, someone did a skin scraping and it came back scabies

Treating the rash to make it go away will only push it inside to something else.

A rash on the skin indicates that something else is going on internally. It's the body's way of pushing an internal disease outward. If you don't treat the internal problem the rash will just keep coming back, over and over again.

Like if it was scabies. That would mean the body is trying to make a way to rid itself of the parasite thru the skin. If you close up those rough places (which is what a rash really is) then you close off that place to push out the bad.

I am not saying what you have is scabies, just using it as an example.

Measles is another rash/disease type of thing. The measles really is inside but manifests as a rash on the outside. You put something on that rash to soothe it like calendula but you also have to treat the internal disease.

Anytime you have a rash, I would look a little deeper than the skin unless it was caused by some sort of chemical you got on yourself or maybe from a plant oil you brushed against. That could also cause a rash.

Too bad you don't know a good homeopathic doc. You could probably clear it up really quick with a couple doses of a remedy that addressed ALL you symptoms. You do have other things going on besides the rash. No one is without symptoms of some sort.

I agree with all the above. Gave 100% tea tree oil to daughter for rash UT health services wanted to do all sorts of things to. It disappeared after a couple treatments. Does smell though, so you better get all your close encounters out of the way.

I strongly suspect parasites anyway, and am also ordering some Black Walnut capsules. I've gotten Giardia three times at Gettysburg. (Easy to understand why so many soldiers died of disease). I've had periodic cycles of nausea and diarrhea ever since we got back. Fine for a few days, then all over again.

Thanks for all the info about the Tea Tree Oil. I've never tried it - always been hesitant because tree and weed allergies are big problems for me - but I'm desperate.

Didn't know you could get it at Target. There's one on the way home. Thanks!

I've had luck with a product called Tea Tree Therapy. It's an ointment with Eucalyptus australiana and lavender oil. Found it at the health food store.
Anyway, it has other oils in it and is not as harsh as the straight stuff. this is in a jar like you would find an eye cream in, but larger. It will generally zap a rash if it works on that particular rash. I've had a rash in the crook of my elbow off and on for the longest. I ended up with a prescription for xyzal for sinuses and it finally went away. BUT the tea tree ointment would whack it if I would put it on every time it broke out and started to itch. Everytime it started to itch I would put ointment on it and eventually it went away. However, if I didn't put the ointment on it would come back. Not sure what that means, but that's how it worked for me. The xyzal keeps it under control/gone. Very strange.

Make sure it is Melaleuca. This is the pure eucalyptus. There is lemon and peppermint eucalyptus These will burn.

If you want to make a topical wash, mix 4-5 drops of the essential oil with 4 ounces of water. This is the proper dilution. Some will go as much as 25 drops per ounce but try the lighter dilute first and see what happens. Apply 2 times a day.

Stress and hives can also cause these rashes. Too much spicy food, coffee and hot showers will also make it worse.

If you've got a fungal or MRSA-type rash, a few drops of oregano oil in aloe vera and/or vitamin E oil works immediately.

It's a sign of a compromised immune system.

I must be weird because I absolutely love the smell of tea tree oil. I didn't at first, but it has truly grown on me. I buy mine from Mountain Rose herbs on the net. At least I did, I'll probably be looking for a more inexpensive alternative soon.

I have never diluted it with anything, I ply it right on my skin and it gives me the warmest wonderful feeling, you just can't imagine. It immediately stops itching and burning from a rash.

It is also great to apply if you are getting a pimple. They go away fast!

I've probably given four bottles of tea tree oil to people and get so disgusted when they won't use it, but don't return it, either.

Skin is the body's last line of defense in an attempt to eliminate toxins from the liver, ergo, treat your liver...Dandelion Root tea, three cups a day, you can jazz it up with fresh lemon and honey. The easiest (and quickest) way is to buy the teabags but better to purchase the dried root, which you would simmer in water for 15 minutes.

Here's an inexpensive place to purchase herbs...make sure you buy the root, not the leaf:

Fruit Loop be careful with Tea Tree oil and Eucalyptus oil. You can use them straight say on your toes but not on your chest and back as they can just about kill you as they are very concentrated. Take notice of what Herbmountain has said.

For diarrhea I use clay powder and natural sea salt when I am back home in Australia. One teaspoon of clay and a half teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt in a liter of water.

I use this product here in China:

This might interest you if you keep getting stuff like Giardia. You might be sleeping with power lines behind you in your bedroom wall. This give you a build up of static electricity in your body especially in the winter months when the air is dry. It stuffs up your immune system.

Tea tree oil was the only treatment that worked on my plantar's wart.

I would use a file to remove the top layer then applied the oil. It took a couple of weeks but it worked.

This was AFTER going to the doctor for treatments that lasted two months with no improvement.

MSM lotion from graceharborfarms dot com works for our family. It clears up rashes that prescription meds don't. It helps my 91 yo mother's skin. The lotion has MSM and tea tree oil.

Thanks.

I had to prowl around to find it, but Target DID have the Tea Tree Oil. I also got a bottle of mineral oil.

Hoping this goes away. I ordered Black Walnut capsules off eBay, but it will be a few days before they arrive.

CHIGGERS! Yeah....we camped in Pitzer's Woods last year, and got covered with those and TICKS. I hate those little stinkers. I had them in the bottoms of my feet from walking around barefoot.

This is because she carries the pure, uncut form. You pay a little more but you do not get other essential or carrier oils with your Tea Tree. Rosemary Gladstar was or still is the owner of MRH.

I think the dandelion tea sounds like a great idea. It is targeted for the kidneys but you can toss in some cleavers or burdock as a tea and get both liver and kidney.

FL. Try just mixing your essential with water first. Sometimes the mineral oil can make a "Hot" application and make you itch or break out more. Just a suggestion.

could this be psoriasis

its a rash, its itchy, it heals and reappears, and heals and then reappears.

its Caused by soy and sulphers

all alleopathic doctors only know to treat skin with steroids. But that only hides the symptoms. Until you fix the (internal) problem, the symptoms will always show on the (external) skin

Good luck, and increase your intake of coconut oils thru food, shampoo, and body lotions.

Beg to differ...dandelion root is a specific for the liver. References:
Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss
Healing Wise by Susun S. Weed

In Herbal Healing for Women, Rosemary Gladstar states: "The root is considered the herb par excellence for the liver..."

You need to know if the Tea Tree oil is steam distilled, expeller pressed or solvent extraction sourced.

Never EVER use any essential oil undiluted on your skin. You will develop an allergy to it with enough exposure. The best oils to dilute it with are extra virgin olive oil, organic virgin coconut oil (which are both really nourishing for your skin) and organic grape seed (sticky), or other organic oils. Mineral oil is a petroleum product, and it seems you said you couldn't use petroleum products.

If you are allergic to weed or tree pollen it does not automatically mean you are allergic to the oils derived from the tree or herb. Oils will not affect you the same way, as there are no histamines in the oil, the pollen and mold is the irritant in seasonal allergies. As I said before you can develop a contact allergy to any concentrated oil, and rarely a person can be sensitive on their first exposure.

The itch from scabies is caused by the little blisters that form on the skin. The blisters are scabie poop, and your skin is reacting to it. Scabies generally gravitate to warm areas such as between fingers and toes.

Anything with MSM added will be carried through the skin, it's a transdermal carrier. If your lotion has MSM but also has urea's (bug poison to kill bacteria) or dimethicone (for 'slip' so lotion is silky) that will be pulled through your skin and into your system, so be very careful about what is in that lotion. In my business I made mine with no chemical preservatives or fillers for that reason. You have to be very careful about things like that.

Were you into poison oak/ivy? If so, colloidal silver will clear that up quickly. Also gerardia. It's an antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal.

Ah, histamines are generated BY THE BODY as a response to the alergen, which may be a protein or another chemical....

The alergic response is an over-response by the Blast cells which generate histamines....

Well, the Tea Tree Oil feels cool and nice, and stops the itching, which is a plus right there.

I've had a course of antibiotics and just finished a Medrol dosepak(which usually works if it's psoriasis), to no effect. I tried athlete's foot spray. I tried the kind with miconazole. Nope.

We'll see if this works. It feels nice and cool, if nothing else, and no signs of irritating my skin.

I like the smell. I remember my grandmother putting something on her skin at night that smelled just like this. I wonder if it was Tea Tree Oil???????

FL,

You might try some really potent probiotics. I had some rashes that were just unexplained that didn't seem to respond to anything. The capsules with 50B organisms did the trick. You might have systemic overgrowth of yeast in your system. Even if you kill the yeast, the good bacteria needs to be re-established.

good luck.
