OJ thread

This is a scary story and one that should never be repeated anywhere.
But can I comment here on something?

This was a robbery and instead of getting help, this family got knocked around and terrorized by the very officers they called to report a crime.

Now - O.J. just got sentenced to 9 years in jail. His crime? Going after items that were stolen from him and his children - photographs, trophys, a wedding ring, HIS STUFF! He didn't call the cops because as he testified, he knew that they would not respond and help him recover the items that had been stolen from him.

His only course of action that he could see, since the law woudln't help him, was to go in on his own and take back what was rightfully his. Doesn't matter whether it was right or not, the result - breaking the law because the law and cops won't help you, will remain the same.

When people know or worry that the cops not only won't help them, they'll try to hurt them, then we have anachy with citizens taking the law into their own hands.

I don't care what OJ did or did not do eleven years ago, but to put him in jail for trying to take back his own personal property, that's just wrong.

And the Sikh family - was there a report filed? Did they recover any of their goods? Are they going to get redress for having been shamed and harmed by the cops?

They've come for OJ and put him away - how far are they from you and your family?

WHAT!?! The guy BOUGHT the stuff, it wasn't stolen. Simpson committed armed robbery. He's a thug and no better than the gangsta trash that inhabit the streets everywhere these days.

Get real. He couldn't ask for help from the cops because it wasn't his property anymore.

OJ 'hid' his assets after losing a civil suit for murdering his ex- and her friend.

Perhaps he thought enough time had passed
where the family who had brought and won that suit might not notice his 'retrieveing' a few things.

He thought wrong.

Instant Karma. Doesn't happen NEARLY often enough.

OJ is no longer a celebrity, so he can be held responsible for his crimes. Too bad that other guy got pulled into the mess and sent up the river too.

When someone sells their precious stuff it is no longer their stuff, precious or not.

This is a big problem with storage lockers. Folks are 12 hours late paying and it is no longer their precious stuff. No irreplaceable pictures, no heirlooms, no baby stuff, no grandma's handiwork. Nada. Over. Done. Tough. No Recourse.
