Hi all,

I'm trying to understand an incident that has been developing in my small town the last couple of days:

Police Identify Woman Approaching School Buses

POSTED: 7:16 am CST December 4, 2008

Police Identify Woman Approaching School Buses]

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- Police have identified a woman who approached two school buses in Friendswood, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

Friendswood police said the woman asked for children by their names.

Investigators said the woman approached a bus on Winding Road on Tuesday. The bus driver asked the children if anyone knew the woman, but none of them did.

The bus driver closed her door and continued on her route.

Detectives said a similar incident happened on Melodywood Court just before Thanksgiving.

Police said information from the public led them to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has been conducting a survey in the area. Investigators said the woman who approached the bus was one of the people conducting the survey.

Detectives said they planned to talk to the woman, whose name was not released, to find out why she was approaching the buses. Police said they do not believe that there was any criminal intent.

Police Chief Richard Wieners said he was concerned about the out-of-state vehicles those conducting the survey have been using.

"These vehicles are in our neighborhoods without being conspicuously marked with, say, magnetic signs to let the public know their purpose for being in the area," Wieners said.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Friendswood police at 281-996-3300.

Ok, first of all, WHY in the world would the CDC be in our town asking for certain children by name, mind you, without their parents? They were trying to get the kids off the school bus? C'mon, what kind of "survey" would they conduct like that? I'm sorry, but this sounds extremely bogus. I really don't know what to think.....but something stinks about this!! Any explanations?

Thank God for our wonderful bus drivers!!!

Thanks yall!

kinda related...

For the past year or so I've been getting seemingly innocent calls from the CDC taking a "survey" that start kind of benign like dental health or exercise but always seems to end up in the same place.. asking about my children's health, vaccination history and pediatrician. When I refuse to answer anything about my children they ask the same questions in couple of different ways (regarding vaxs) and finally thank me for my time and hang up. Oddly if I refuse to answer something about myself they don't seem to mind.. it's my kids health history that cuts the call short every time. Doesn't matter if it's 1 minute in or 15 minutes into the call....

btw -i thought my tin foil hat might be on too tight but after seeing this very same thing posted on some parenting boards I now know I'm not the only one...

WHAT THE HECK????

I would be asking some questions tomorrow and wanting some answers from someone..whether I had children or not...you mean to tell me that the authorities don't even know about this survey? Asking for children by name so does that mean they know what kids are on which bus?....PLEASE keep us posted with anymore info you get...Big red alert in my opinion!!..blessings T

eta:
this really ticks me off...we spend a big portion of our time and their life teaching our children about strangers and being safe. WHY would the CDC want to conduct a survey that way?...obviously the school did not know, the police did not know, the parents did not know>>> and the comment about the cars cruising the neighborhoods with no markings bothers me as well.

You're right. There is something wrong with this. I wish that I had some answers for you :shr: and I hope that someone will come along who does. Please keep us updated if you hear anymore.

Are they positive it was the CDC???

If so, what kinds of questions could they possibly ask where the children's answers would provide anything of value?

That's just bizarre...

WEIRD .. WEIRD .. WEIRD

I agree 100% that this situation is bizarre and that it does not make any sense at all. All I can say is there appears to be some very SCARY *stuff* going on with these mysterious activities being conducted by people that are working undercover (supposedly) for the CDC in communities without the knowledge of any local officials = YIKES !!!!!!

The story about the mysterious blonde woman stopping the school buses there in Friendswood was on the BELO Texas state news cable channel yesterday. That story was that the woman knew the full name of each child and she was wanting them to be let off the bus -- I think it was reported that they were elementary age children too!

Think about it ... what could be the true god-awful reason for such an agency as the CDC to be doing this type of project (or ??? not sure even what word to use) ... doing it secretly and purposefully away from the parents' knowledge and also deliberately keeping it secret even from the school officials too? I am going to think hard about this tonight and thanks to Tano for giving us this latest info that has come out.

Anyone wondering like me: what if any children had gotten off the bus and actually got in her vehicle ... would she have left with them and if so, where would they have been taken and just what would have been done to them in this so-called 'survey' (not that I believe that BS about it being some kind of cocked-up survey at all) ?

This is crazy stuff going on - imho ...

The story was scary about the strange woman targeting school children as there have been some terrible murders of children happen in that region over past 2-3 decades ... one was a young girl, Laura Smither -- she was 12 years old, abducted and murdered (decapitated) about 10-11 years ago while jogging in her Friendswood neighborhood and case was never solved from my recollection. Her murder was just about a year after the abduction / murder (also a decapitation) of Amber Hagerman, nine-years-old, who was taken while riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas (between Dallas & Ft Worth).

Here's the articles I saved last night after hearing the news on TV:

FRIENDSWOOD, TX (KTRK) -- Friendswood Police have received two reports of a suspicious woman approaching school buses after school.
The woman reportedly approached the bus, which was stopped in the 100 block of Winding Road, the afternoon of December 2, asking for a student by name. The bus driver inquired whether the child knew the woman. When the child denied knowing her, the bus driver closed the bus doors and continued on her route.
A similar incident occurred just before Thanksgiving when the woman asked for a different child by name. Again, the bus driver did not release the child to the unknown woman. The earlier incident occurred on Melodywood Court.
The woman is described as a white female with blonde hair, 5'3", weighing 130 pounds. She is described as being "nicely dressed." In one instance the woman was seen getting into a white box-type SUV; in another she was said to be driving a gray passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet Impala. Witnesses have not been able to obtain a license plate on either vehicle.
Friendswood Police are interested in learning more about the woman and ask citizens to contact the department at 281-996-3300 with any information.

Friendswood police want to question a woman who approached a school bus twice in recent weeks asking for elementary school-age children who denied knowing her.
On Tuesday, the woman asked for a student by name when the Friendswood Independent School District bus stopped in the 100 block of Winding Road, police said.
Friendswood police said the same woman asked about a different student Nov. 21, when the bus stopped in the 400 block of Melodywood Court, about a mile away from the most recent incident.
In both cases, the bus driver pulled away when the students denied knowing the woman, Friendswood police said.
"We don't have a criminal offense at this point, (but) we have a highly suspicious situation," said Karen Peterson, a Friendswood police spokeswoman.
Police described the woman as white with blond hair, about 5-feet-3-inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. The woman was seen Tuesday getting into a gray passenger car, possibly a Chevrolet Impala. On Nov. 21, she was in a white sports utility vehicle.
Witnesses were not able to get the license plate for either vehicle, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Friendswood police at 281-996-3300.

Thank you for the responses. It feels good to know that I'm not the only one that feels there is something else going on. I am on the FPD email list and also the school district's email, so if I receive any more news (which I doubt), I will post it.

Saved, to glorify God.
BEWARE!

I hope it has occurred to everyone that: IF THE METHODS THEY HAVE USED IN THE PAST TO ABDUCT THE CHILDREN HAVE FAILED, THEY WILL CHANGE THEIR METHODS RATHER THAN THEIR GOALS. Watch your kids, they will try to abduct them elsewhere!

Beware!

I suspect they will take blood and tissue samples from the children and I hope, let them go afterwards. (At least, THAT is what they will TELL the people who are ordered to actually abduct the kids, that they only want to run some tests and will not really harm or keep them. AFTER their bosses get the kids, WHO KNOWS what will really happen?)

I would certainly expect the local media to have a formal statement from the CDC by lunchtime- If not-I would hope the Moms and Dads would make it happen by dinner.

I think I would get some parents in the car ,and we would go see the governor, with the media, demanding answers, and right now. I would also take my kids out of Texas, since they knew their names.

Look up the The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment
The U.S. government's 40-year experiment on black men with syphilis. Our wonderful representatives have since made it legal to experiment on American citizens without their knowledge. Perhaps these children are involved in some type of medical research conducted through pediatricians or other health care facility unbeknownst to their parents.

She knows the children's names and even what bus they ride, so she has inside information from someone, if not at the school, then someone higher up. I'm not sure which is scariest, a child molester or government official seeking out children. Neither one bodes well. I hope y'all are safe.

I'm wondering what, if any, connections the kids have between them? Were they both borned at the same hospital, for instance? Did they both have the same teacher...and has that teacher suddenly left the school?

Well got an email last night, I guess this "explains" it :shr: Still creeps me out, though:

Police Investigation Resolve Suspicious Person Calls

FRIENDSWOOD - Friendswood Police state that reports of a woman trying to
get access to children near a Friendswood ISD school bus have been substantiated
but appear to be activity related to a CDC survey. Two separate incidents were
reported in the last two weeks, the latest being December 2.

Several citizens reported to police Wednesday, information that led police
to contact the Centers for Disease Control regarding a survey and employee
activity in the Friendswood area. The CDC is conducting a survey in the greater
Houston area related to the ongoing Health Report to the Nation. Police have
positively identified the women who were reported to have approached the school
bus or children in the two incidents.

One of the women explained that she did not approach the school bus but
rather children approaching a home near the school bus, asking if their parents
were home. This concerned the school bus driver who called the children back to
the bus and returned with them later.

Representatives of the CDC explain that families are contacted at random by
letter and arrangements are made to interview the family in connection with
surveys that the CDC conducts. The representatives do not know the individual
names of family members. Representatives of the CDC had been trying to contact
someone at the address regarding a pre-arranged meeting and when the children
arrived home, they were asked if their parents were home.

It was learned that some of the contract survey takers have placards on
their vehicles. Others do not.

Police explained to the CDC representatives that the actions of the survey
taker caused appropriate concern among parents and school district officials.
The CDC representatives understand the concerns and will work to communicate
this to their employees and contractors.

What would I do?

Call CPS on the CDC!!

"I don't appreciate a stranger approaching my children, trailing them home, and asking them questions. Do these people not know what a telephone and the mail system are for? It is inappropriate for them to approach a child in the first place."

The U.S. government's 40-yeOur wonderful representatives have since made it legal to experiment on American citizens without their knowledge. Perhaps these children are involved in some type of medical research conducted through pediatricians or other health care facility unbeknownst to their parents.
A few years ago, one of my nieces worked in the Head Start program.
She told her Mom that they were doing psychological experiments with the children in the program, & the parents weren't being told.

One group had a teacher that was rough, & stopped just short of being abusive to her group. She was never reprimanded for anything, & was allowed to handle them however she wanted to. From the niece's description, she was nothing more than a "mean babysitter". She wasn't told about the experiment.

Other groups had teachers that were instructed in how their groups were to be handled, ranging from firm discipline to allowing them to run wild, to petting & coddling them.

The children were to be studied throughout the time that they were in the educational system to see how this early training, or lack thereof affected them in the future.

Elementary aged children are babies! If they are being asked for by name, did they receive some strange vax that the CDC is following for side effects? How many other neighborhoods is this happening in across the country? I am not an anti-vax person, nor am I "unusually" paranoid, but this story has me very paranoid. I have two very young grandchildren and don't want them used for a gov experiment. When DS and DIL run down the list of vax the babies get, I am kind of shocked to see how the list has grown since I was a young mother - I think my kids got DPT, Polio and maybe one more, and the list for the babies is downright scary-long. This story scares the heck out of me. :shkr:

Thanks for the update~

I call Bull crap!!!

that story does not even match the original stories.

and if it were a prearranged meeting why were the parents with whom it was prearranged not there to meet them? Why did the parents not confirm this from the beginning?

What kind of survey?...obviously a secret one since they have yet to establish its purpose.

if you get any more updates please let us know...blessings T

This story stinks. The excuses are weak and the story doesn't make since. So the women is CDC. That makes it ok then. Not. Just the fact the CDC is trying to survey kids, should make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Not alone doing it in secret. Ether they are trying to hide something or up to no good.

Maybe making a bad effort at "connect the dots", but I'd say that our government's targeting mechanisms have been brought on-line.

I wonder what the legal ramifications would be for cornering this person with a shot gun and calling the police.
Isn’t it a crime to approach or try to follow minors home?

Assuming the CDC is involved, which frankly to me is not very clear here , this sounds like your basic government contract low bid operation. I have stumbled across these people under other circumstances and frankly, when you hire minimum wage people, you tend to get minimum wage skills.
