CRIME Man Arrested In Attempted Cat Beheading

DeLAND, Fla. -- A man was arrested Sunday after he stabbed a cat and attempted to cut its head off before throwing it across a Central Florida roadway, police said.

Levi Collier was arrested on a felony charge of animal cruelty after witnesses saw him try to behead the cat on West Lisbon Parkway in DeLand, WKMG-TV reported.

Officers discovered the cat, which was bleeding profusely, from several apparent stab wounds and a slit throat, DeLand police said.

The cat died minutes after being found by officers, police said.

Collier told DeLand police that he did not know why he stabbed the cat.

Collier was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.

I guess some people just born mean Now if you have a lot of feral cats and we see that around here a lot your forced to put them down with a shotgun as these feral cat won't let you get near them and live trapping is almost impossible. If you got to do it, be as humane as posable.

At the risk of thread drift....if there weren't so many unwanted cats, there would be less opportunity for this type of thing. If you love them...spay and neuter and protect the suffering of unwanted cats...and dogs too. These unwanted animals have no value and are targets for people like the man in this article. They do this because they usually can and there is an unending supply of trusting cats and dogs who walk up to these people looking for a kind hand.

Makes me sick. Please, spay and neuter and don't put these animals on the earth only to be homeless and unwanted.

This guy is/was either insane or on durgs. Good thing they caught him before he went to bigger things like kids. It seems as the whole world is getting craizer and craizer. So anyway praying for this idiot that he can become normal.

Willow thats not thread drift, its the answer. We have way to much of it here! People move out of a place they are renting and leave cats and dogs behind or drop them some place, I guess thinking some one will take them in. We also have people that should not have pet as they don't have the time or know how to train and house break them properly.

That's exactly what I was going to say. Exact same words.

Neutering won't stop this kind of guy. He'll find animals (or people) wherever he goes.
