I LOVE this site.

We have bought some fun stuff on here. But this is the thing that made me think of you guys:

RFID-Blocker Sheet
Saves you from info-snatching electronic pickpockets, and from leaning against the gas pump and emptying your bank account. (The downside of Radio Frequency IDentification.) Called the "EMvelope," it's an 8-3/8" x 3-1/2" x .012" thick trim-able electromagnetic sheet (think Faraday cage with a floating ground) that blocks radio frequencies up to 2.4GHz. Cut it to size and slip it in your wallet, or wherever, and protect the data on your credit cards, "fast-pay" devices, ID cards, EZ-Pass, or anything else with an embedded RFID chip, including the new U.S. passports.

Sadly, it's sold out right now.

Hmmmm....

But there's other good stuff on there .. and a LOT of stuff.

So I thought I'd start a TB2K treasure hunt.

Let's see what cool/useful/whacky/prep stuff we can find! (And some of these things are really, really well-priced, too.)

Start here :) :

I've got one of their Canadian surplus shelter radiation meters. I've been meaning to change the battery box over from the impossible-to-get 7.5 volt mercury batteries to 123 lithium cells, but it's down my list quite a ways (gotta build the shelter first :) ). I visit there every time I'm in Chicago, and every other trip I end up with a $15 gift certificate because I buy so much stuff there.

If you're in the Chicago area, it's well worth stopping in. They always have mylar blankets, mylar sleeping bags, 5-in-1 survival whistles, and a limited selection of OD bags and pouches.

a piece of aluminum foil will do the exact same thing.

Professional shoplifters have been using it to line bags and coats for years...
