ECON Iceland could be first sign of Wilkerson's vision

Deceased
I keep this vision around for reference, waiting to see if/when it happens.
David Wilkerson is the founding pastor of Times Square Church in NYC. He was the preacher who reached out to Nicky Cruz and other gang members in NYC in the 50's, as told in the book "The Cross and the Switchblade".

Iceland having their currency disintegrate - does that count as defaulting on it's loans? I could argue it either way.

This vision of David Wilkerson was from the 80s or 90s.

Also, for consideration: the webbots, for whatever you may think it's worth, forecast very hard times from Oct to March 2009 - that's about 6 months, matching the time frame of this vision of 6 months of hell.

From the vision this is the timeline:
* First country (European or North African or Eastern) goes down, no one gets too excited.
* Within the following two weeks a second country defaults on their loans, probably Brazil or Argentina.
* Two weeks from the first country defaulting, Mexico will default on 100 billion of loans
* The next day a bank holiday is instituted, and 6 months of hell begins.

I am not advocating or supporting this prophecy or vision. I am not advocating the web bots. I'm keeping these things in mind and watching, on guard, alert, prepared.

David Wilkerson's Economic Vision
Key points to remember about this vision:

1. From the time the first country goes down, you'll have two weeks to get your money out of the bank.
2. America will come through this crisis---there will be a restoration.
3. But the nation will never be like it was before...
4. God is saying: Get our lives straight...Get rid of the idols...Seek the face of God in holiness...
5.God will be a wall of fire about you...And the glory in the midst of you!

BEGIN

It's about to happen---very soon, one nation, and I'm speaking prophetically--if I've ever heard anything from God in my life, I heard it ... Very soon a European or North African or Eastern nation is going to default on its international loan and when that happens, within two weeks, Mexico is going to default. Mexico owes $100 billion ---80% of it to American banks---and here's what is going to happen: about two weeks after the first country goes bankrupt, (we're going to survive that, because most of that (money of the first country) is owed to European banks---German, Swiss and French banks) but a second country is going to go down, probably Argentina or Brazil, and we'll kind of live that down and say: "Well, maybe it's not going to hurt," but two weeks after the first country goes down, Mexico's going to default on $100 billion.

And when the banks open the next day at 9 in the morning, $15 billion an hour is going to be withdrawn from our American banks -they're going to be running our banks---the Arabs---all the Latin American countries, they're going to be running our banks--and before the day is over, the U.S.A is going to have to declare a "bank holiday."

SIX MONTHS OF HORROR:

And we're going into six months of the worst hell America has ever seen---there's going to be chaos---not even the National Guard's going to be able to quiet it down---we're going to have to call out the whole U.S. Army.

Now I've had visions recently, for I've been in New York City and I was in Macy's in a vision, and I saw people walking around stunned because they couldn't get their money out of the bank.

Now I'm going to give you a word of advice, the first country goes bankrupt---I've documented this and I've got it sealed in an envelope, and I'm going to call all my friends and I'm telling you---this is the first time I've said it in a public meeting like this---but the first country that bellies up, you go get every dime you have---church get your money out of the bank--because there's going to be a 'bank holiday' and you won't be able to get a dime for six months. Now, of course, there's going to be -restored, but the nation will never be like it is again.

There's going to be fear like we've never known---judgment at the door. When I was at Macy's Dept. store in a vision and I watched people walking around stunned, they didn't know what to do, they didn't know what was happening; then a bunch of people walked into Macy's and suddenly went wild and began to steal and within an hour everybody---I saw the spirit of everybody in the store---they were robbing and stealing---they raped Macy's and destroyed five floors---Macy's was raped and ruined in a period of an hour or two.

That's just the beginning. Folks it's all in this book (the bible) ---we've been warned and warned and warned---you can't tell me God hasn't warned us. You can't tell me God isn't saying something awesome here tonight in this church...we better get our prayer life straightened up, our lives straightened up, get rid of the idols, as Paul writes, and seeking the face of God in holiness or you're not going to be ready for what's coming. God's warning, get ready and you'll not fear these things that come onto you and you'll start rejoicing, you'll not be afraid because your hands will be clean. You've been praying and God's building a wall of fire around you to keep you."

We'd like to teach you a song about God's protection. It goes like this.: "There's a wall of fire around me...There's a wall of fire between my soul and the enemy. There's a wall of fire that you can't see...Between my soul and the enemy. There's a wall of fire around me. May it be so with us all..."

I don't have an opinion; just posting to add to the discussion:

Iceland PM says country will not default on debt
Tue Oct 7, 2008 8:11am EDT

REYKJAVIK, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Iceland's prime minister said on Tuesday the country would not default on its debts.

"Iceland has never defaulted on its sovereign debt and will not," Prime Minister Geir Haarde said in a news conference in Iceland.

Haarde also said government measures to boost the island's crown would mean it should strengthen significantly when normal trading resumes compared with levels seen in recent days.

He said the measure came into force on a temporary basis.

Iceland not in default if offshore deposits not honoured-S&P

LONDON, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Ratings agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) said on Wednesday it would not consider Iceland to be in default if the country did not honour guarantees on offshore deposits of its banks.

"Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it would not consider it a default of the Republic of Iceland...if the Depositors' and Investors' Guarantee Fund of Iceland did not honour its guarantees on deposits outside Iceland," S&P said in a statement. Iceland has a foreign currency rating of BBB+ with S&P.

"Standard & Poor's understands that the Depositors' and Investors' Guarantee Fund is a private foundation operating under Icelandic law, and that its obligations are not pari passu with Icelandic government debt." A Kaupthing division in the UK has been placed in administration, the UK Treasury said on Wednesday.

Icelandic bank Landsbanki's British internet bank icesave stopped customers withdrawing or depositing money on Tuesday, after the Icelandic Financial Supervisory Authority said it would take control of Landsbanki.

Listening to Fox Business this morning it was revealed that their debt was 12 times their national GDP.

I guess things are so bad there that they had turned to Russia for help.

The financial world has so changed since Wilkerson's vision and his intrupretation of his vision. The vision could in truth be unfolding, but due to changes, diravatives, 100 billion Mexican debt doesn't sound all that much nowadays...and our internal debuckle...Wilkerson't words are inapt perhaps to describe actual events. Non the less, we see something clearly Wilkerson-like on the near horizon.

Wilkerson's Economic Vision

I found a link regarding this vision and if you look at post by

About half way down this page there is validation of this vision by World Challenge. The vision was not given at Times Square Church (TSC) where David is Sr. Pastor but evidently was indeed given by him at a private or non-TSC function some years back. IMO, there's some other interesting tidbits in that thread also worth reading.

I hold David Wilkerson in high regard as a watchman who rightly discerns the times. He himself does not refer to himself as a prophet, never in the 25+ years I've known of his ministry.

In his 1973 book entitled "The Vision", much of what God showed him has already come to pass.

If they really did turn to Russia for help, they're in a whole lot worse shape than anyone could imagine. And, who is baling out this country? China. BIG PROBLEMS AHEAD.

I'm quite familiar with David Wilkerson's books and work with former drug addicts (getting them to turn on to God, rather than the drug culture). But, like most religious people, his "vision" is too dogmatic for my liking.

Any further thoughts

Bump to see if there are any additional thoughts on this.
Wasn't there some recent economic news about Mexico and/or Argentina?

Sorry to dash your hopes....I've heard this a number of times, but I found this, so apparently this is not from David Wilkerson. If this is a true prophecy, perhaps the author will let us know when and how he received it.

Thank you for contacting our ministry.

We have received many letters, e-mails and questions from concerned friends regarding a prophecy that has been circulating in cyber space attributed to David Wilkerson. Please know that we are not circulating this prophecy and do not know who is. You will not find it in any of our publications or materials. It was not preached at the Times Square Church, but a number of years ago was given (in essence) at a special meeting, which someone evidently taped and has circulated ever since.

Reverend Wilkerson addresses financial and economic conditions of the world in many of his messages. He has preached messages in which he quotes statistics from current (at the time) secular news magazines, articles and newspapers, that make reference to the economy of the world and the United States and the near economic collapse. These statistics do sound a little like the prophecy that is being circulated, however, we would recommend that you order Reverend Wilkerson's tapes and hear his sermons in their entirety.

Should you be interested in these particular messages, they are tape #557,"The Secret of Strength in Perilous Times," and tape #558, "I Shall Fear No Evil." These tapes may be special ordered for $3 each + $2 for postage and handling. You may send your order along with payment to the Lindale, Texas address below. These sermons were never published as messages in the Times Square Church Pulpit Series, so we do not have them in printed form.

You may also call in a credit card order at 903-963-8626. We accept Visa, Discover, American Express and MasterCard as a method of payment.

Again, thank you for your interest and your concern. May the Lord be with you.
