The Pulse......
I wonder why the MSM isn't reporting the facts about state by state polls?:shr: It's as though the Mainstream media wants to bounce us back and forth between an Obama and McCain lead - week by week for the next month. Probably just to make sure we don't look at anything else...

Election 2008: Ohio Presidential Election
McCain 48%, Obama 47% Again in Ohio

Ohio’s still a horse race in the latest Fox News/Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state.

For the second week in a row, John McCain leads Barack Obama by a single point, 48% to 47%. Libertarian candidate Bob Barr and independent candidate Ralph Nader each earn one percent (1%) of the vote. Two weeks ago McCain led by four points.

Seventy-eight percent (78%) of Ohio voters say they are certain of the candidate they are voting for. But 22% say they may change their minds, including 29% of Catholic voters and 26% of those ages 18-39.

Ninety percent (90%) of Ohio Republicans back McCain while Obama has the support of 85% of Democratic voters. Unaffiliated voters are evenly divided.

The GOP presidential candidate leads by 12 points among men and trails by 10 among women voters (see full demographic crosstabs).

Fifty-five percent (55%) view McCain favorably, 43% unfavorably. Obama has 53% favorables and 45% unfavorables.

Nationally, Obama has opened a steady lead over McCain in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.

With increasing turmoil on Wall Street and Congress battling for the past two weeks over an economic rescue plan, 52% of Ohio voters now say the economy is the most important issue in the election. Only 17% say national security is more important.

Obama has a 48% to 45% edge in terms of voter trust on jobs and the economy, while McCain leads 53% to 42% when voters are asked who they trust more on national security and the war on terror.

Ohio, with 20 Electoral College votes, is now rated a “Toss-up” in the Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator. Ohio is regarded as a critical swing state. George W. Bush won it in 2000 and 2004, but Democrat Bill Clinton carried the state in the two previous presidential elections.

And despite what the MSM is reporting..this poll is very interesting with recent McCain vs Obama polls state by state...

It will be interesting to see how tonight's debate plays out and what, if any, effect it has on the polls.

HOMELESS 'DRIVEN' TO VOTE OBAMA

CLEVELAND - Volunteers supporting Barack Obama picked up hundreds of people at homeless shelters, soup kitchens and drug-rehab centers and drove them to a polling place yesterday on the last day that Ohioans could register and vote on the same day, almost no questions asked.

The huge effort by a pro-Obama group, Vote Today Ohio, takes advantage of a quirk in the state's elections laws that allows people to register and cast ballots at the same time without having to prove residency.

Republicans have argued that the window could lead to widespread voter fraud because officials wouldn't have an opportunity to verify registration information before ballots were cast.

Among the volunteers were Yori Stadlin and Vivian Lehrer of the Upper West Side, who got married last week and decided to spend their honeymoon shepherding voters to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

Early today, Stadlin's van picked up William Woods, 59, at the soup kitchen of the Bishop Cosgrove Center.

"I never voted before," Woods said, because of a felony conviction that previously barred him from the polls. "Without this service, I would have had no way to get here."

>>>>>>>>> Many years ago in CA. I was amazed to find out that the homeless were such dedicatd voters. In fact the largest homeless center in the county was the mailing address forterally hundreds of absentee ballots .......... A higher percentage rate of voting from that homeless shelter than in on occupied, upper income neighborhoods ....

Of course why should I wonder or doubt the ernestness of a large group of transients, druggies, felons and in some cases, mentally ill folks, who while they can't function to hold a minimum wage job, they will rally to make sure they register to vote and ten do so?

It must be so wonderful for Obama to have as a core constituency the group of voters known as thugs and felons. They usually have a lot of time on their hands to get to the polling place.
