ECON I have the power to MOVE MARKETS - it's OK, laugh with me!

:lkick: :lkick: :lkick: < That's me laughing at myself!

So yesterday afternoon after watching the Mortgage Bailout debates on CSPAN, I decided that since I have a few bucks lying around at Kitco I'd buy some silver in their Pool Account! After all, Bush said he wasn't going to Veto such a bill, and logically if the Treasury is going to cover Fannie and Freddie, the USD is going to continue to plummet ... pushing the PM's higher - RIGHT?

Now, you have to admit that this is not a stretch and actually makes good sense from a PM investing perspective!

So I proudly and confidently purchased some more silver - especially silver since it's ratio with gold is still historically low and when gold goes up, SILVER ALWAYS OUT PACES IT BY SEVERAL POINTS!

So fast-forward 24 hours after my purchase and for the first FREAK'IN TIME THAT I CAN RECALL - GOLD IS UP +0.48% WHILE SILVER IS DOWN -0.40% !!! I couldn't believe it .... refreshed Kitco several times just to make sure!

It's enough to make one CRY ... if I didn't have such a sense of humor - albeit sickening humor!

Just thought I invite my fellow Time Bombers to laugh at and along with me! It truly is amazing when I think about!

If you bought oil and gas stocks in June, you'd marvel at your ability to manipulate the market here in July. Manipulate it downward, that is.

Maybe Kitco recorded the sale half but not the buy half of the trade. That would certainly move the spot price down. And it's no worse a butt-headed speculative "what-if" than a lot of other financial conspiracy theories floating around out there in the Internet ether.
