Congress killed the idea of gas tax holiday, and in fact plans just the opposite... to INCREASE gas tax by as much as 10 cents/gal... because Americans are being responsible and not driving as much, not buying as much gas so they can buy groceries. Therefore, gas tax income is dropping! .gov needs that income, so they plan to jump gas tax to make up for the loss.
