Hey everyone been so busy but I didn't get a chance to tell you guys that last night I tested for my 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and I passed. Hand is a little bruised from my board breaking technique which was actually two cinder block bricks stacked on top of each other. Nailed it on the first try too

With demonstrations and prepping my students for testing which I had 11 test with me to last night I've just been a little bit to busy to post in some cases here but things are starting to settle down a bit.

Next destination for me is 3rd degree. :D

:applaud: Congratulations. WOW! That's impressive to someone who has trouble with paper and scissors.

Cool, congratulations!!

My husband wants to take Kali, the fighting style Jason Bourne does. It's very hard to find teachers for it around here.

Well, now we know the origin of your board name ;).

I took Tae Kwon Do in college. Most fun I had while in school. Never made it very far in the skill progression, but the lessons I learned about how to fall have kept me from serious injury in snow & ice over these past 30+ years.

Congrats!

Thank you guys and I can't tell you how many times that I slipped and fell on ice like you said Dennis and it help me from getting a serious injury.

If anyone is in the South East Indiana area and is wanting lessons let me know.

As far as Kali you might want to find someone that teaches Jeet Kun Do. Some schools incorporate that into that style corriculium.

But again Thank you everyone. A little tired from it didn't get home till 1:30 this morning from testing. lol

hmmm let see here, actually it wasn't to bad. I knew going in that the Grandmaster was going to drill me with questions and that was expected. Here was what happen last night.

1. We did forms (poomse in Korean) ( kata's in Japanese) and we did 13 different forms some of them twice.

2. Then after a long speech by the Grandmaster we did back and forth kicking drills to warm back up.

3. Then we 1 step, 2 step 3 three step sparring. Step sparring practice is were one attacks and the other counter attacks using simple to advance combinations.

4. We did self defense take downs unarmed.

5. Next was self defense take downs agiants a knife attack.

6. We fought againts one on one vs another black belt

7. Then we went up agiants two on one vs two other black belts

8. Then came time for our breaking technique which mine was the two cinder blocks together.

It was a blast.

Here is a picture of me upon receiving my 2nd degree black belt

Looking at the picture I'm on the far right. To my right will be Grandmaster Kim in the black suit. To his right is the Master Instructor that tested also for his 6th degree, and to his right is a Temp Black belt that tested for his first degree black belt.

Very good. I took Krav Maga for years. Since I've been injured I still go through it in slow motion using the Krav DVDs just to stay up to date. Never know when I will need it to get out of a jam.

Fantastic News!!

Always admired those who had the discipline to acheive such goals. (And, Bruce Lee, the martial arts god) is one of my (and my son's and grandson's) heros, for sure.

Way to go. Never give up. Never give in.
