The old avatar thread is getting far too long and unwieldy. So here's a new thread for those wishing an avatar (picture) by their name. Post the avatar (or link) to this thread, and we'll get it installed for you. If the image is too big, we'll shrink it first.


Note on avatar requirements:

- Maximum of 80h x 115w

- Nothing animated (actually, we DO occasionally allow an animated one if it's not too hard on the eyes, and if the image isn't too large a file size)

- Maximum of about 6 kb file size


So feel free to post your wishes on this thread!

You need to ATTACH it. Use the POST REPLY button (rather than the quick reply one) and go to MANAGE ATTACHMENTS, then browse for it on your PC and UPLOAD. You'll see how when you play with it a bit.

Moggy, find a picture that you like, or that represents your personality in some way. Then either post the URL link to it, or attach it to a post on this thread. Use the method that I said in my post #10. I'll take it from there.

Yeah, but I DO have a propensity for letting it go for days/weeks :shk:. I happen to be on-line tonight, and have a willingness to set them up right now.

Time for a change, I reckon.

My li'l ol' tumbleweed must be getting quite ragged by now from
crossing that highway so many times. Its gonna get hit by a car
one of these days too.
Might save a tiny bit of the board's resources to get rid of the
animated one as well.
So Dennis, if you would please, sir...........

I'm curious why ya'll don't change them yourselves.

Go to your control panel and "edit avatar".

Your only a couple of clicks away from a new avatar...

That only works if you want to select another 'stock' avatar from the
board's data-base. If you've a pic on your pc or from the web that
you'd like to use as a 'custom' avatar.....Dennis would have to 'install'
it.

No AR15ER, I don't think that one would be okay. If you were to speall it "SH*T", then it would perhaps be okay. And once shrunk down, I dunno how well the text would come out.

As to why can't people upload custom ones, it's because on other fora I've seen all kinds of nasty and/or animated crap. We decided here to try to keep that out by reviewing each one before installing it for the members. That's the best way to keep things, well, decent, and avoid things that make one's eyes bleed.
