Hey ya'll I feel the same way you do about these mouse guns, BUT!!! they do happen to be Americas choice right now for our main battle rifle, and they are what is keeping our boys alive... Show a little respect for cryin out loud!!!!!!

...and they (the weapons) are doing a great job of it too. Its way too easy to just jump onto the bandwagon regarding the AR15, but its a an excellent weapon. To rip-off a slogan from Noveske: "Kills Jihad on Contact."

Gee, guess I was wrong. I thought this forum was about free speech and being able to express an opinion. Sarcasm off. My saying I like the M1 Garand better does nothing to detract from our armed forces combat effectivenes. As far as respect goes, I have only respect and admiration for our troops.
My DD214 says I can wear a bronze star on my Viet Nam Service Ribbon BTDT.
I am an honorably retired DOD Police Lt. Part of every patrol load out for our force includes an M16.
My apologies if this sounds boastful but I resent being talked down to because I stated my personal opinion. Seems like an individual needs to list personal creds to be able to have an opinion. I don't think I'm anything special. There are lots of folks who have done more and given more than I have. Just saying I contributed to free speech and thought by my actions and am proud to be in the company of veterans who's actions and sacrafices insure our Constitutional Rights.
The last time I shared an opinion, it was misinterpreted and I got called and eletist and was told I should be shunned by the rest of the folks on the board.
I am not being thin skinned or angry, just sad and tired of the self appointed thought police who use a flag symbol to tell me that if I don't agree with them I am not supporting our troops. And by implication, unpatriotic.
Elk Hollow, why don't you make a list of things you think are ok to think and say and a list of things you don't think are ok and post it. That way us po folk will know when to stand up and cheer or when to pile on someone who doesn't share your opinion.
Oh, and I'm not being a dramma queen as I have been called in the past. I am making a statement about what I believe. I have earned the right to free speech and free thought.
