Roxbury Rat Meets his Match

A longtime member of this wonderful board, known to us affectionately in Maine as the "Roxbury Rat" aka Lone Wolf, met his match in the early hours of today.

The News Flash is: While outside of his home he happened to cross the path of a 42 1/2 pound, Raccoon. When they both realized each others presence near the large metal trash can; a knock down fight occurred over several discarded 4 day old dough nuts !

Fur flew, barred teeth and fists, claws and the like happened. In the end the donuts were not accounted for but a trail of blood back into Lone Wolf's home, found he had been beaten up pretty bad !

His wife was really concerned for the welfare of the raccoon, as Lone Wolf hasn't had his rabies booster shot for the new Summer season as of yet.

I have word from a reliable source that a photo of the "Roxbury Rat" aka Lone Wolf is forthcoming soon . . . I will post that when I get it.

Any animal that routinely takes on household dogs and cats (and often wins) is one animal that I plan to avoid if I can.

My family was once camping in a trailer when my mom opened the door to step outside for some reason. She stepped right on top of what we later figured must have been a racoon, but the amazing part was that my mom literally levitated (or so we all later swore) right back into the camper without ever touching the ground or the sides of the camper door.

Sounds like LW is feeling better this morning. I would love a picture of his face however, after the fight.

(for those who didn't see it, LW had some surgery yesterday on his eyes. That being the bruised and beaten up look he now sports)

I resemble, strikingly what Varmit said.
This morning both eyes are swollen up with only the right eye able to see with an astigmatism.

Left eye is till swollen shut. Getting ready for IMPAT tp re-apply the med and gauze. along with the ice mask.

"Did any one get the plate number of that truck?" heh.
