It still torks me off.. I wrote that story based on a prophetic repeating dream I had as a teenager for my creative writing class in High School. My creative writing instructor kept the story and I'm sure, shared it with his friends. Lo and behold the movie appears a few years later with hardly anything changed except the location where it takes place and the name of the football team. Oh! and they drink the blood of their slain deer rather than eating the raw liver as I had in my book. Everything thing else was exactly how I wrote it...exactly.

All my friends called me from high school to congratulate me on getting my story published and I'm like what are you talking about?

I confronted my instructor on it a few years later when I returned to Montana and he played dumb. He has had a few of his stories,( if indeed they were), made into movies or sold the rights to Disney. He was running dogs in Florida as well at the time I wrote the novellette, that is probably why it takes place there.

It was blatantly copied but whatever...that's how things work out sometimes!

The first time I saw it meant a whole lot more than now.

Way dated and of course, there are many silly inconsistincies....but it IS fun!

Make sure you have a football and lettermen jackets in stock ;)

Loved the movie when it first came out and still like it after all these years, even though there are those 'inconsistancies' and it is somewhat dated.

BTW, Costco has a two disk DVD Special edition fo $9.99 that has a wide screen version on disk one with a "Carnage Counter", whatever that is. Disk to has a "Making Of" special and Bringing WW3 to a Small Town" and also a Military Training feature. There seems to be at leaest five sets at the to Costco stores I hae been in recently.
