Virginia Court Dismisses Case Against 1-Year-Old Baby
Wednesday, May 14, 2008

HARRISONBURG, Va. —

A Harrisonburg court has dismissed a case against a baby boy summoned to appear in court for an unpaid bill.

Richard White says he was shocked when he got a subpoena in the mail requiring his 1-year-old son, Jacy, to appear in Rockingham County General District Court next Tuesday over a $391 chiropractor bill.

Neither of Jacy's parents was named in the lawsuit, which has been dismissed at the request of the plaintiff.

Shortly after his son's birth in April 2007, White says he took Jacy to the chiropractor. He suspects that when the family moved, the office updated records for everyone but Jacy.

White says his insurance didn't cover the $391 and only recently billed him — about the same time the residents of his former home forwarded the subpoena.

I think they should put the little kid in juvy until he is old enough to get a job and pay off his debts! That will teach him the value of a dollar!!

We see the same chiropractor that works with the olympic team and he only charges $40.00 a visit what's up with A $391.00 bill for a baby?

Being under 18 Jacy can not enter into legal contracts and therefore can't be held liable. That's why auto's usually aren't sold to people under 18 because they can negate the contract at any time up till they become of legal age.

Now just a darn minute. It is this mollycoddling of the criminal class that got us in the mess we are in today. I say flip the kid into the slammer and teach him a lesson.
