Now it really looks like Solar Cycle 24 has started. There is now a high lattitude
sunspot with the correct magnitic signature for this to show that Cycle 24 has

yeah, a program I was watching recently showed scientists digging into the polar ice caps for
answers to the warming cycles and they linked them to solar activity.

If I understand it correctly, the more solar activity, the more earth's magnetic field is active
and that shields us from harmful cosmic rays.
