I just notice this on the site:

ATTENTION, UNDOCUMENTED MALES
& IMMIGRANT SERVICING GROUPS!

If you are a man ages 18 through 25 and living in the U.S., then you must register with Selective Service. It’s the law. You can register at any U.S. Post Office and do not need a social security number. When you do obtain a social security number, let Selective Service know. Provide a copy of your new social security number card; being sure to include your complete name, date of birth, Selective Service registration number, and current mailing address; and mail to the Selective Service System, P.O. Box 94636, Palatine, IL 60094-4636.

So now guys now you know where we are going to ship the male fighting age illegals too... The Middle East

Question regarding a draft and medical.

My son is autistic, and according to the website, he is required to register. He would never be able to serve, in my opinion.

What are the medical qualifications that need to be passed in ordere to serve?

Congress will amend their "comprehensive" bill to exempt them - watch and wait for it! :ld:

It would likely depend on the degree of his autism. If he can pass the physical, then he could serve...if not, then not.

Yes, he is required to register because anyone can claim this & be lying. Once he is checked by the Military & he is determined to be unfit for duty he will be exempt.

Actually if all hell breaks out & we loose a dozen or so cities to nukes it might be better to be in the military. You would have a better chance of survival.

Sorry Dennis to Inform You But....

(snicker)

There are no records before 1960 available

Dennis, if the American Hiroshima (Paul Williams warning) happens you will be drafted, we all will be drafted. Remember Bush signed the executive order a few weeks ago giving a President dictatorial powers in a national emergency. Even if you are in your 50's, 60’s you could be drafted for your technical skills.

If he hasn't been evaluated and officially diagnosed, you may want to look into completing that process. Your son's diagnosing neurologist/psychologist, Regional Centers, or the Special Ed folks at the local school district, may have some guidance for you. I wish your son the best...

I already served my country and am no longer at risk of going due to health concerns. But, I wish I were healthy enough to serve! I'd gladly give anything to be that healthy.

Damn, for a moment I thought the government was supporting the "shoot, shovel, and shut up" doctrine.

And yes, I'm still in there. I almost forgot to register way back when. I already had my .mil scholarship, and got so busy getting ready that I nearly didn't do it. Would have been very embarrassing...

I think if a draft gets initiated, it will be to the point we have to fight islam or china just to get to the post office and get on the mil truck.

Brings back a funny memory for me. On my 18th birthday, I happened to be out of state ... in Basic Training. Later that week, at mail call, my "draft card" arrived in the mail. The Drill Sgt.s, at the time, thought it was quite funny too -- what if they drafted me? Hell, I'm already here doing pushups: "One!, Drill Sgt. .. Two! Drill Sgt... Three! ...."

WTF were they thinking? They could draft me? I'm already in the damned Army!

[I guess ya had to be there -- we all thought it was funny at the time]

Hell I registered before 1960......................If they need an old cop, I will still serve.

I still have the strength I use to..........just not the endurance.........Of course this statement fits other parts of my life as well.

In the end, you know we will all serve in one capacity or another.

er, doesn't it seem odd that a web site wants you to give them your name, SS # and date of birth to find info. i guess i'm just not that interested to give that kind of info out on the net. don't forget all the government computers that have been lost, stolen, hacked and hijacked.

we're talking real ID theft material here, not to mention if you have keystroke logger stealthily sneaking around in your own machine...

They would not take me during the Vietnam Conflict.

Something about an FBI hold on my records:whistle:

I did not find out what it was all about for another 7 years.

He is diagnosed already and in a special school for kids with special needs (autism, downs symdrome, physical and mental disorders etc, but no ADHD kids here). This school is 40 min away because the public school did not have the resources to teach to his needs. Which ended up being a positive from Bush. With the No Child Left Behind, they pay for him to go to this school. Tuition, food and transportation are free, just like they would be if he could go to public school.
